Dus wanneer kunnen we red rino overkopen 😂
Voorlopig nog niet 🤣
@@M0Tourist was te proberen 🤣🤣
I installed this upgrade several days ago on my 1994 R1100RS which has 24,000 miles on it.. The whole job was simple and took less than 30 minutes. My idle is definitely smoother and the throttle response is improved. I think this upgrade is well worth the price ($170 including shipping).
Good to hear!
Earlier this year I bought a 1200 GS (not adventure) from 2008, 105K, 3 set vario cases, new tyres, simple crashbar, ABS (no traction control or ESA) in good condition and 1 year warranty for a little over 6000. So something similar for the GSA version with more rugged cases and protection/crashbars and features in the 8000 range is realistic. I'm also from NL.
The adventures are always a bit more expensive, this only did 58K km and had all the bells and whistles. Never the less the almost 9K was over-asking... Especially considering it needed service and new tires. How do you like your 1200?
Werken deze ook op de r850gs?
Ik denk het wel: www.tills.de/product-11.html
Is it big upgrade enought to think change to 1200gsa from 1100gs. I've been thinking to change but somehow I just love 1100gs reliability and how it runs clean. I'm bit afraid to switch newer bike due to their price and possibility to get bad bike where I have to spend even more money in long run.
I'm a bit on the same page, as I explained I'd an event coming up that I wanted to do. The 1200, especially the '08 & '09, are pretty good as well. Like a sophisticated 1100. But it's pretty pricy, especially with the outstanding work on this bike. Came down to having a newer bike, with some additional features like ABS & ESA, that rides better (but not 10k worth of money better). It's not the huge leap forward as the 1250 GS is
What's wrong with Rhino?
It's in the 2nd part of the video. Red Rhino didn't run right, after my mechanic changed the throttle cables it cut out during a test ride. Turned out that it was something in the fuel system, either the distribution or the quick disconnects....
Heel tof! Is er een manier waarop ik je kan bereiken? Ik ben bezig met hetzelfde maar je bijgevoegde 3D mal sluit niet goed aan op mijn koplamp
Je kunt me via Instagram of Facebook een bericht sturen
A lot smoother? Your head jerky around. Really?
May be smoother is not the right wa ** y of wording... I've also riden the 1250 gs with quick-shifter and that wasn't buttery smooth either. With these large 2 cilinder bikes there is a lot of mass moving, which gives you a little kick in the higher regions. The better word was a lot more fun
Nice work! What was the thickness of the metal sheet that you used?
3mm, might be a bit overkill though 😆

Like this, thank you!
are your control cables stock or did you have to change them to work with the risers?
The clutch & throttle cable are stock, same as the wiring. Those fit, although I wouldn't go any higher then the 50mm, then you'll need to lengthen the throttle cable. I do have aftermarket brake hoses, so I can't tell you anything on that...
@@M0Tourist thanks for replying. I did try out a friend's risers and they seem to fit without cable adjustments. I ordered 30mm ones and i'll be back with feedback. Thanks!

@@M0Tourist so true!!
I have the exactly same bike i think ...94 plastic tank ? Anyway, u know your stuff around the bike and i wanted to ask , what do u think that i have to be worrie of??any major issues ?? Thank you 🙏
I've the steel tank, and the bike is from '97. If you go offroading on the bike make sure you install the gearbox reinforcements. For the rest, some TLC from time-to-time, but the bike is pretty straight forward to work on.
installed mine on my track bike, but sensor was way too sensitive, up to the point the sensor would pick up so much vibrations from the shift rod it would just cut off ignition randomly, and even completely shut down the bike at one point. Took it out, left it out for about a year. Going to ride in Spain next week and installed it again, just need to mkae sure i check the sensor sensitivity. Thanks for uploading, this might just have been the problem
Most likely the sensor threshold was nog set properly, this is a bit of trail and error😜
@@M0Tourist yes you're absolutely right! Didn't want to lose track time last year so that's why i chose to remove it instead of trying to finetune it. But i'll definitely fiddle with settings a bit this weekend. Threshold and noise filtering will be my two focus points, and then i'll go from there.
Lets go bedankt voor de leuke en leerzame vlog.
Dankje, was een leuke training om te doen. Echt een aanrader!😀
Where exactly is this?
I need to check the exact name, but still should have the GPX file for it. Send me a message on insta😉
Hepco & Becker have been making quality German luggage for many years, and made the original Krauser cases fitted to BMW in the 70’s. I have similar top loading Givi cases on my V strom and they are more practical to use than side loading ones.
Both the side and top casese have the pro's and con's. The onces from Hepco & becker are really nice and easy to take off

Good video. I just ordered a performance chip from John. Does your GS have the stock exhaust and catalytic converter? If "yes", then you might not feel as much of again with the chip. My GS has a cat-delete mid-pipe and a very free flow exhaust...so, I'm hoping for a very noticeable gain. And yes, my bike is already very loud. 😀
Hey Rockgin, mine also got a cat delete and aftermarket exhaust (with DB-killer). In my opinion it produces a very nice moderate sounde 😉
Nice work man! I got my 1100GS just a few weeks ago - year of construction is 1994 - YEAH! (:
Nice! The bikes are pretty easy to work on!
I hope to get some useful tipps from you/your videos. :) I'm so excited for the first real ride... @@M0Tourist
@@Tafkadasoh78 Enjoy and have fun, if there is anything you want to know, just ask !
Thank you for this video. Do you think the peak from the Xwed2 will fit the XD1?
It's almost the same helmet, but the xd1 only had 2 shell sizes and the xwed 2 has 3. My gut feel says it will fit, because they most likely only make 1 size peak
@@M0Tourist thank you
Thank you for NOT buying from Amazon. Amazon sucks and it is the WORST.
Depends on what you want to get from Amazon 😂
That’s pretty cool . Do you know where I can buy a shorter beak for my 1100 GS ? .
I've only seen them a few times, but cannot recall if there is a shop selling them...
yes have you had any issues with abs
Nope, mine came without it :)
Did you synchronise? Ignition on, fully open and close throttle twice. Turn off ignition. Gear on and go for a ride!
I'd the throttle bodies synced afterwards ;)
Hi, thanks for your videos! I own an old R 850 GS and I wanted to ask you, because you can't see much in the video, how do you connect the Daytime Running Lights to the headlight wires of your 1100 GS? can you help me? Thanks and keep going!
Hey Marfred, I've connected they daytime running to my parklight, but if you want to have it always on you need to run some additional wires
Also you have to apply TPS resetting procedure after the chip installation , otherwise cant take effect . Then ride 5-6 km. for remapping the ECU .

@johnAlot thanks for the feedback, I'll turn down the music a bit for the next video!
which filament was made for 3D printing? ABS?
It has been printed in PETG
Your a brave man to trust that stuff 😮
I'm still pretty happy with the quickshifter after more than a year. It's not as fancy as a factory install on modern bikes, but it is proven technology... The sensor in the shifter sends a signal to cut the ignition for 1 or 2 cycles, which eases the pressure on the gears and enables you to shift while keeping the throttle open. The most 'tricky' part is setting the threshold for this signal correctly, but that is not too difficult... I mainly use it on hard acceleration, but definitely not all the time
Nice bike they are built to last
