    I remember standing there with tears in my eyes, because of that immense power of all that water really getting to me. Iceland was an amazing trip and when my son is old enough to remember I will take him right there, to that same spot near the Gullfoss.

    Just a general query, and not intending to be critical: you're happy posting a video of yourself walking past an official sign that says 'track closed no entry'?

    • @caedencekuepper
      @caedencekuepper 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kevinmcgennan8110 I do lots of off track walking. In places like this I treat it as an off track walk, where I’m taking any risks into my own hands and backing my experience to know if anything looks unsafe. Most of the time these sort of track closures go up when parks/STT can’t be bothered maintaining a track anymore rather than any genuine safety reason.

    Even though I haven’t been at rhyn falls, I totally agree on engstligen to be at 1, I’m hyped that I’ve been there, and it’s amazing. Also really underrated spot, since there’s not much tourism, meanwhile the views you get there might even be better then in lautenbrunnen imo

      Yeah I agree, personally Lauterbrunnen was my favourite place in Switzerland for all the different waterfalls and the valley scenery, but for the best waterfall I couldn't go past Engstligen even though it's far less famous

    Today I was at the aletsch glacier, and took a cable car at Fiesch, from fiesch I could spot a beautiful and big waterfall, that was not on google or any pictures. I went out there yesterday, but couldn't actually find it. In hindsight, the bridge the track leaves from is now just gravel over conduit. And the bridge that was closed that you parked near is now completely removed, making it impossible to cross. However, Russell River was spectacular at the closed bridge, so no disappointment there!

    • @caedencekuepper
      @caedencekuepper 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I went back the following year and found that, we did manage to get across the creek with the bridge out but it was a bit awkward. Best option is probably going in via the other side of the road though best to bring some bikes as there’s a gate which is often locked a ways further back down the road

    I was at Godafoss in September, 2019, with my family. There were several Japanese tourists with Icelandic guides, who navigated their kayaks over the falls! The first one went over the smaller fall on the left side, after careful coaching. I was standing on the path just above that fall, filming it, holding my breath, hoping that the man didn't die. He made it! Then the group waded across the wide, flat part of the river a bit above the falls. Not an easy trek in itself, carrying their kayaks. Then they each went over the main part of the falls. They all made it safely. I cannot even imagine doing that!
