Crazy not to see any mk1 gtis with square headlights. 😂. So normal over here. I’m surprised no one in the uk does the conversion to look like a westmorland factory. Vw rabbit gti. All the Americans do the conversion to euro round lights. 🇨🇦
Most prefer round, not a fan of the square myself. There are a few square conversions over here, can be expensive to get a grill and then alter the slam panel.
Blimey. I thought I recognised F564UNV reg. just looked through some old photos of mine and realised I owned this car back in 2008.
Love the mk1 Golfs especially and the mk2s. But it seems to be if it isn't a GTI, then don't bother? - very odd?

I have a 2009 Mk1 Model , last 1000 built in South Africa, and would be great to bring it over to Europe. Would also like to buy a UK spec RHD Mk1 2 door. Anyways look forward to more videos. Thanks

My little boy makes an appearance at 7:20 cleaning his own mk1, now sold as he was getting a bit big for it. We'll be there again this year

Hi Ben, Friday people camp, meet up with people they already know from the scene or the show last year, normally there's beers Saturday the club organises a drive out, it's around 40miles with one stop off for some photos Saturday night is our fancy dress disco Sunday is our show and shine, there's trade stalls ect as well Loads more info here: vwgolfmk1.org.uk/AG2018/index.php?page=whatshappening
Hi, Thanks for your reply. I remember going to one in the late 90's/early 00's with my kids on a sunday somewhere south west of London maybe it was Farnborough area? but didn't really enjoy it. Don't get me wrong, I love the cars especially the ones in original condition, but didn't really enjoy the day. What sort of trade stalls are there?
Hi Ben, That wouldn't have been us, this is our 14th annual gathering, the club was started not long before the first one. We have trade strand from MK1 specific partners, to keep it relevant to the members, these include Classic-Vw, CrazyQuiffs and VW-Heritage Hope you can make it one day and change your opinion!
MK1 Golf Owners Club Thanks for your comments. I think it was Club GTi event. Who knows maybe, but not sure as I don't like camping and gave up drinking when I was younger due to sport ( has saved my licence on numerous occasions especially with clients and sports teams! !) . Also I don't really get the whole " group driving to show off your car thing ". I would rather not be noticed but my car does attract a lot of attention . Good luck with the club

Great! Nice to see so many and great looking mk1's. Wish I could be there. My family has got a 81' four door diesel. I love it, i'm 20 and i want to rebuild and refurbish it in the near future. Could you tell me where could I find part, since it's almost impossible to find a donor car, and there's A LOT to be done.

I've totally fallen in love with the golf platform's, have yet to own a mk1 or mk2. But loved my mk6 and my new mk7 . Just picked up a mk4 golf a month ago.
