Great video, thanks. The bladder/buoy is a float bag that should be used in most kayaks. Float bags are inserted in the bow and/or stern areas of the kayak and are to make it easier to right the boat in case of capsizing, or keep it afloat in case of taking on too much water, by displacing areas of the kayak with air instead of water. They are not for protecting the air valves.

I think you just got a bad Intex K2. Ive had 2 of them, and they both lasted a year. Both stayed inflated very well for me. However neither one of them was usable after they had sat all winter. That said that Hydro force looks awesome! Im probably gonna buy it.
