OF BANSHEES AND REAPERS | A DCS CINEMATIC SHORT | OH-58D Kiowa Warrior
Hey folks. A little video I whipped up as I've been really getting into the new Kiowa module. Me and the guys in my squad have been digging deep into the OH-58D and it's systems (L2MUMS, Buddy lazing, etc.) and mission types, and man is this thing fun!! Also, in this video I use Carsten Gurk's Artillery script which is awesome!!! The music is by the band 'Otyken" who are a Siberian band that blends traditional sounds with modern beats. Enjoy!!!

With the F4 Phantom recently dropping, and the CH-47 right around the corner, I was feeling a bit nostalgic for some 'Nam vibes. A DCS short I put together with the help of the some of the guys in my online unit (TAW NA 33rd. Btl.). The song is all about the world "over the rainbow" which is where the fixed-wing guys operate. Getting to know the SH60B

Decided to try out the SH-60B sub-mod of the UH-60L mod for DCS. I have to say I was impressed. I just did a single hop taking off from the deck of a carrier, circling the carrier group, then landing. Overall a nice addition to a nice addition. The mod can be found by going to the Discord page for the UH-60L mod.

I originally created a video for this song using DCS back in 2021. However, since then I managed to lose the original file. Recently I created a new livery for the UH-1H "Huey" airframe and thought "no time like the present" So I created a new version of the old video. Hope you enjoy.
kiowas didnt ever really carry a gun and hellfire combo, it was usually hellfire rocket or rocket gun or rocket rocket, that being said. Awesome video!

Not too far off with Reapers buddy lasing for Kiowas. We did this in training at China Lake, as well as Afghanistan a few times.
The big attack platforms the AH64 are cool yeah, but I've always been a huge fan of the little stuff. Like the AH-6 or the OH58. Small, nimble, fast, and vicious in their own right! Good video!

How’d you get all them troops visible in the back of your Huey? If I embark troops the seem to always be invisible in the back! 🤷🏻♂ 🤣
It's a mod by Eightball, it's call "UH-1H Huey Attachments" it has the model of the troops riding in the Huey. Eightball is also the maker of the OH-6A mod and the Vietnam assets pack, his stuff is top notch!!

Thank you. Yes, the limit on camera placement is still there in the latest version of DCS so you would still have to make the changes I mentioned.
Good work but you should have removed the IR deflector from the Huey. The US Army didn't use them in Vietnam, and I worked on the UH-1H/V from 1996-2003 and we never had them equipped then either.
Where'd you get all the vietnam assets?
It's mainly the OH-6A by Eightball, he inlcudes a "Vietnam assets pack" when you download the mod. Great stuff!!! The other mod was the A4E-C community mod
Really good work. We very much need a vietnam map. Im not usually the more maps and modules guy. id like to see more features tbh but a vietnam map is a must.

How'd you get the middle seat view from the Blackhawk lol, cool video either way
Hey man, thanks for the question. When in the standard F1 view hold RSHIFT+RCTRL+Numpad 2 (or 4, or 6, or 8, to move the camera down/left/right/up respectively) holding the same RSHIFT+RCTRL+ * or / will move the camera "in" or "out". That's how I got that shot. I'm working on a video going over the camera keys so keep an eye out for it.

Nice, but my favourite helo the gazelle is missing.
I actually realized there were no Gazelle's while making the video, unfortunately I don't know anyone who flies it in DCS 😞
