Andre Galvao (Atos BJJ) Disqualification Win at 2011 Abu Dhabi Pro Trials in San Diego California.
Hello 👋
Slamming out of submissions is legal in ADCC .....
his legs locked his arm up well but he couldnt capitalize on it then it comes down to how much your byisisam is thats why we have reffs so people dont get seriosly hurt unless your evil keneval THE DARK HORSE
ref did the right thing, it doesn't matter people get hurt or not, as long as you slam someone you just out
SLAM DUNK
the way i look at it, that guy got lucky not having to fight galvao
hahaha.. like that kid had a chance.. if anything, he should be attending Andre's seminars
That happened to me, it feels like shit
O cara luta e não sabe que não é permitido isso! É cada cara de pau.
i agree, someone should slap that bitch! galvao would have won regardless
It looked like it hurt a lil and you could here the impact but idk that shit should of went on jiu jitsu is a real sport and we aint pussies
galvao woulda fucked him up anyways, I think he woulda wanted an ass kicking instead, the way he's going on you coulda sworn he had a chance, th ref did him a favour he should be thankful!
For fucks sake, the guy fights MMA.
you just stereotyped all americans in the worst english ever and then you signed off with jiu jitsu is respect!? lol
Depends on the slam I reckon. I don't think a match should be called over ambiguous low amplitude slams like these, though to be clear, if no-shirt here got some height on this I'd be pissed. I'm all for safety, but let's not be so quick on the trigger; people pay a good deal of money to travel to tournaments.
lets say you get slam while attempting armbar ...
it was a slam in bjj standards accident or not ....
This is bullshit. It is barely a slam either; just look at the prior position and falling like that was pretty natural. He couldn't even put his weight behind the slam, so it wasn't a slam. This is bullshit. I hate when things get pussyfied.
Like you were really gonna beat Andre?
i got slammed like that in a comp before, i had a slight concussion and wasnt allowed to compete in the rest of my division =( slamming is uncool
I am not saying one is better than other. When you watch a judo video, these guys get thrown pretty hard here and there and a lot of times they get right up.
remember people this is a game. Not a fight! Nobody needs to get hurt if it can be avoided. That was a good call be the ref. You have to protect the competitors.
what an idiot.
What a bad idiot loser! He needs to learn the rules and respect his opponent
He was in trouble anyways, slam or no slam, Andre would've got the sweep at the least, and I mean least...
its funny cause my boy andre still had the lock in...going to jack that arm too...ref said dudes arms life
@jtbullfitghter if it's a throw then it's not a slam :)
what happens when i get someone in a judo throw that causes them to land directly on there spine...am i disqualified
Illegal slam directly onto his spine; guy has absolutely no concern for his opponent after the ref tells him to stop; and finally walks of like a rude child. Lose, lose, lose.
Disqualification for all money. What a sore loser he showed no sportsmanship.
@Tippet76 he would never have gotten that, Galvao would've blocked his hips with his hands, it's not that simple.
@jazzvin1 Why would I be kidding? It's a simple half guard step over and the guy in the black could have gone for the same move.
@Tippet76 lol the guy in the white shirt , are you kidding
scokimber- word. seriously, when you do shit like that- thats when people come back and heelhook with a vengence. keep it classy man, we are not meatheads- we are martial artists
I like this DQ. People do not realize Andre could do 100 illegal moves too, so its either play by the rules and keep it safer, or get DQed. These people act surprised when they get DQed, but if we don't have rules, why not bite them, oil check them, fish hook, eye gouge, nose rip...etc...?
are they booing because his illegal slam could have been better?
@Tippet76 thats andre galvao dude, that aint gunna happen he won gold in absolute for the adcc this year
I could have sworn it was going to be the guy in the white shirt that got submitted lol. He was practically giving him his leg in the beginning
@veganwarmachine Galvao is about 75-80 kgs, his opponent is about the same, he was dropped straight onto his neck / back of his head, Maybe it could have hurt quite a tad,
did anyone hear the crack on 0:53 ?
Guy's technique indicated he didn't belong there.
i heard a cow at the end...moooo
@veganwarmachine he got slammed spa bang on to his neck, i expect that would hurt a touch.
lol, that son should stop pretending his was going to beat Galvao :) clearly an illegal slam though
It wasn't some intentional drop, it's because the guy at the bottom was posting with his arm and then removed his arm as the guy on top was maneuvering, so the bottom guy fell like that. it was gravity and a posting arm removed, not a throw or drop.
@xabovethisworldx I agree with you 100%. Galvao would have won easily and why the boo's from the crowd. They obviously don't know the rules of a No Gi Tourney.
This is the problem with no gi, many different disciplines together, some of which don't fully understand the rules. Were this a black belt gi comp he'd have known the rules. He is clearly of a grappler/wrestler back ground. one of the main reasons i dislike competing in no gi. Too many arts equals too many injuries.
Definitely a body-slam from over the knee. looks trivial at first, but when you watch it again you can see him use his knee as an axle to pivot before the slam.
@jimbo007777 i agree. def not it was a single motion
