I actually like the way ceiling mounted SpectrAlert Advances look on the wall, they almost look like bells if you squint. I read about one case of them being used to replace bells at an apartment building because the owners wanted to keep that kind of look. And yes, they are UL-listed for wall installment as someone else mentioned.

I've heard Spectralert Advances in person before in a Hotel Lobby. They were loud, But Wheelock As and Mt are even worse. My Elementary school had Wheelock AS's for indoors and Mt's for Outside. My Classroom had a Wheelock As, and it made my ears bleed every time it went off. I hated unexpected Fire Alarms sounding in Elementary.
