Glad you like the video! I’ve considered doing a “live” commentary episode which would be heavily focused on my counting and tracking of moves since that’s what I’m thinking in the moment of the battles. I wonder if folks would be interested in that 🤔

@@Synk1590 i think they took some getting used to, but they aren’t SO bad. I always like more custimization options as a player so once some of the bugs were ironed out I think they were ultimately a good thing but could have been WAY better

You kinda need counter for the ability to counter down swampert, quagsire, etc. Some people have tried running mud shot, which changes Poliwrath from a more “fast move damage” oriented pokemon to a more “charge move damage” oriented pokemon since it charges faster but does less damage. At that point there are other pokemon like quagsire that would fill this sort of role better, so I’d certainly recommend Counter. TLDR: Counter is definitely better but some people have found success with mud shot if really you don’t want to spend the elite TM.

@@Tomlleslie oh yea, my most recent video actually uses the same gligar + jelli duo but with Magnezone over poliwrath and I found a ton of success with it!

Gligar can do some amazing things, it’s probably my pick for the single best pokemon in GBL (namely the shadow version of course)

Because I’m only using daily incense pokemon for this season, I can’t use any shadow of any kind and every single day I miss using my shadow gligar from last season 😔

It changes throughout the season. Everyone starts off pretty low, even the best players in the world only start at like 2300-2400 then climb up. So early in the season, 2300 would be high elo but as the season approaches its end, high elo would be over 3000 with top players being upwards of 3500. @@bryant7509 I’d be a little bit worried about Lanturn because you have both Feraligatr and Skarmory. One way to try and cover for this is to lead Stunfisk (maybe with mud shot over thundershock fast move), use feraligatr as your safe swap (run Crunch on feraligatr so you can still hit lanturn pretty hard), and then try to sweep with Skarmory. This way, feraligatr baits out the lanturn, hits it hard with crunch, stunfisk can help deal with it, then skarmory has a lanturn free sweep! Skarmory is super good if shields are down since brave bird is a CRAZY strong move, so play toward that win condition for some skarmory sweeps!

@@ronrogers7743 i think a lot of GBL is just memorizing move counts and fast move timing. The move counts change as the meta and season updates change which can make it really annoying for older players who took the time to learn a bunch of now outdated information. Sorry for the frustration, but I hope you enjoy the videos! :p

My biggest advice is always to learn counts and charge move timing. I feel like being really good at those two things alone can gain you a ton of elo

I didn’t completely follow your comment, but when you switch you can always preemptively click where your charge moves are, but lag is almost always possible and can mess you up
