We’ve just lost our baby girl of 14yrs. Every night when I went to bed she would come up and check on me, and in return I would give her a stroke and say “goodnight Annie, see you in the morning” then off she’d go and lay down. We miss her like crazy and just writing this has brought tears to my eyes.

Do senior dogs lose interest in toys? my 16 year old barely is interested no matter what I do. This is my grand-dog, whose mom decided to leave the dog with me while she moved in with her boyfriend. I'm trying....poor thing.

I would only have a dog when I retired from work so I was around for great walks with doggo fun & doggo socialising. I do not think you should take on a dog if you are at work all day. A dog needs company. Please if you can take on a dog and be around for good walks think about a rescue dog. They are so loving and fun. We have adopted a dog twice now and it was the best experience ever, One a young Staffy we had him till he sadly passed at 16 and a half. Now we have a Spanish rescue. He needed a lot of help slowly slowly we helped him how to become a dog again. Poor little fella 100% shut down and so cruelly treated. We know have a beautiful loving full of fun loves his walks his doggo pals his tickles and hugs. We love him so much and it is great to have helped him have the best life we can give to him. My heart breaks for any dog not having this kind of life and I God I wish I could help them all.

I rescued a male spaniel mix 4 years ago and he sleeps with me and he likes to curl up like a donut and always sleeps on my butt or my chest ❤️😎👍

My dog is nasty, I’ve never ever had an aggressive dog, I’ve always trained them but I rescued him not knowing what happened in the year before I rec’d him …. He has bitten me often in the 4 years I’ve had him… from what I can tell he doesn’t like women and to be touched by them…he is better with my husband and son in law …he also hates hands and certain words as crazy as that sounds …I feel bad because if anyone else had him they’d put him to sleep… he is half chihuahua and possibly terrier….

I was in bed ready to go to sleep one night and my newfoundland would not settle down. He kept coming to look at me intently and then left the room, and when i didn't follow, he would repeat. Finally he grabbed my wrist and tugged, so i got up and followed him to the kitchen. Turns out i forgot to shut the back door, and that didn't pass his security check before bedtime... He then settled down and took up his guard post next to my bed

My yorkie princess loves to walk outside but sleeps the entire day indoors. She doesn’t play with toys and I’m worried about that seriously

My girl is a Rottweiler and I went through a divorce and my ex got her brother and I got the female and my ex didn’t work so she would walk them every day but I work so many hours I don’t have time to do that but I walk her when I’m off and take her with me to the pet store and running around but she’s almost 9 now and sleeps a lot !

My Border Collie sometimes is in the mood to sleep closer to my face. But that is seldom and more like taking a nap and enjoy company. Most of the time he prefers sleeping back to back and at my feet. This actually comforts me a lot, because I know he is aware of everything.

You asked what my dogs know more than I do, my dogs have figured out when I change clothes it is time to go outside. Sadly, they do not always get to go with me and I have to apologize to them.😅 Another funny quirk, they have a dog door so they can go outside any time they want but when I go in backyard it is quite the event for them And they have to come with me to see how much fun I have picking up their messes.😂
