Replace the brake pads and rotors on the front of your T1N Sprinter. Rear pads and rotors are a similar process.

How to repair the window slide part of the window regulator. The original plastic slide ages and cracks, allowing the window to fall down into the door. This video describes how to replace the window regulator slide with a new, metal version. The procedure was performed on a 2006 Winnebago View.

Does the flange convert 5 bolt wheel to 6 bolt for a different wheel for 3500 model? I have a 2500 that doesn’t have the extra wheel flange and has 5 bolt wheels.
my 2009 e350 base sedan has 2 motors, a black one like yours and a larger white one (for what?) that mounts right next to it. On mine its the white one that is leaking through the weep holes on the side. I wonder why there are 2 motors?

I have the 06 T1N in the 3 meter wheel base model and it is different. I do put a length of welding wire up high in the inside fender to hold those brake calipers. Good video Tom
Overall it looks straight forward. However i have to say a big no no to wedging a rebar on the studs like that. I would Loosen those hub bolts before jacking up the van folks. You may damage the threads on the studs even break them coz sometime those bolts take alot of tork to loosen . Then again they are also replaceable. But they must be heated with an acetylene torch and a trip to the dealership to get new ones. The other observation i had, there is supposed to be a couple of funny looking metal clips that are inserted on the bracket before placing the pads on the rotor of this type of brakes. They weren't there.
Thanks for this, I kearned a lot. This is a 10 minute video. I realize that you stopped and restarted the camera at times and that things change when you edit. I'll bet it still only took you an hour. That would be an entire Saturday for me...

I cannot thank you enough for this. Our driver side window would not go up at the end of a camping trip, making for a very long ride home. I'm waiting on the replacement part, but was able to get all the door panels and assemblies apart by watching this video. I expect to install the replacement part within a week, and I went ahead and ordered a second replacement part for when the passenger side fails. Thank you. UPDATE: Part went in just as shown, works well, saved a few hundred dollars by doing this myself. Thank you again!
too much trouble, I have A w208 and mine is on the drivers side under the hood. When it leaks you get an annoying light on the dash, that's the only reason I fixed mine
You do not have to remove the regulator assembly if you just use a Dremmel cut off disc for the old stud and new bolt sticking out. You do not have to drill out the the stud remnant if you punch it out. Just put a socket behind the hole slightly bigger than the back of the stud, braced with a block of wood, punch it out with an old Phillip's screwdriver or smaller diameter bolt. I did it that way and avoided all of that disassembly in 20 minutes!

Brake pads are like women. Some do. Some don't.
I have 2 sprinter 3500 s like that. Yes they do. It looks like whoever did the perevious break job could not figure it out how to insert them and said screw it. Coz the new pads did not have them. I now wonder. are they really needed.?

Yours is likely the same place as mine. The fill tube is under the hood, but the reservoir is in the wheel well.
Nice one Tom, have the very same problem on my 211 except it's RHD with the bottle on the NS wing. Keeps peeing out the fluid after a certain level. Will repair this way and hopefully all ok. However, my pump works fine so can I just replace the grommet?
Yes, just make sure there is no corrosion on the shaft of the pump that slides into the grommet. When I searched for parts to do this to my Sprinter, the pump and grommet was just a few dollars more than just the grommet alone. If true for your car, it may be worth replacing both while you're in there.

I've never seen anyone use 2 Jack's like that. Hang your caliper by a strap so you don't rip the lines Use an old pad to push both the pistons with one c clamp. You also don't lube the slides?
Yeah, i was shaking my head on the caliper retraction. I use the old brake pads too.

I believe so. They were grabby at first at very low speed. Now, 10k miles later, they work as expected. We just drove across the Rockies towing 1000+ lb trailer, and no issues with fade, vibration, or noise.

I enjoyed your video. Clear, succinct and to the point. Even though I have a W-2 12 Amazing all the stuff we have to go through to get to things that used to be right in the engine compartment. Only thing I would’ve done differently, and it’s not really a criticism but just an observation, is test that thing before you buttoned everything up But I wish more TH-cam instructional videos were like yours

A few questions. I noticed you did not use any lubricant on the brake tabs. Is there a reason behind that. Also why did you not reconnect the brake sensor to the breaks? Just curious if there is a underlying reason for that?
On the back of the brake pads? It depends on the pads themselves. Some pads have separate thin metal plates that acts as "lube". Other pads have a manufactured coating on the back of the pads for the same purpose. Otherwise, the new pads come with a small tube of special lube that can go on the back. Regular grease doesn't mix well with brakes, and it'll boil off pretty quickly anyway. I did not reconnect the pad sensors as I didn't want to reuse the old ones. The news ones came in a few days after I shot the video. I think I mentioned that in the subtitles.

I simply drilled out the post and used a 1 inch carriage bolt with a nylon washer and two nuts.

A bottle jack is NOT a safety jack. A jack stand is what is needed.

It seems to me that videos on older vehicles are being replaced by "new models"..... I too struggle to find info on my 2004 Sprinter camper van. Which....if I am correct, is all a bit crazy: People with new Sprinter Vans are unlikely to DIY 'ers....they have the means to use top end garages or even Main Dealers. Someone needs to address this anomaly. Is that not the whole point of TH-cam?
Sprinter work vans are used by many tradesmen and techicians like myself. By the time the sprinters gained popularity in North America, mercedes changed the design in 2007. Most of the old models are off the road now. And most tradesmen like myself, we do the brakes ourselves. First to save time, second to save money. Its a hassle to make an appointment to get the van serviced with any repair shops. I had 3 sprinters prior to my current ones. I have a 2017 3500 HR 144 chassis, a 2012 3500 HR 170. Sold the other ones, 02 freightliner sprinter 2500, 05 and 06 dodge sprinter 3500s. Those 5 cyl Engines were troublesome with turbo resinators and such.

Very well done video. One thing I might add, make sure you have something to get a lot of torque for removing the window regulator T-30 bolts, MB put some lock-tight on those T-30 bolts and a hand screwdriver didn't cut it. I put a locking wrench on an extender holding the T-30 driver and it finally broke free. A home DIYer can do this with just a few tools. Lo-and-behold, the brass parts just came in the mail, so now have to finish up. Someone also has a 3-D printed snap on slider, that eliminates cutting the bolt off. If anyone tries that, I'd love to know how that turns out.
I used a 1/4" drive ratchet, extension and torx socket.
I used a t30 and it stripped two head sockets. Now I'm really screwed. Where can I get the snap on plastic part?

My "windshield washer fluid low" message appears from time to time. I see puddling if I fill it up all the way. I didn't think about the pump since it works fine. Probably the gasket or perhaps tubing. Thanks for the video and parts list. Now I know what to check for.
