After watching this again, I feel this is a great method for working on a single shot of a ring, especially for some clients on a tight budget. Love the gradient idea on the shank of the ring, plus the blending with brushes. Thanks for posting! I picked up a new jewellery client and learned a lot from your video. However, also doing Focus stacking with Helicon Focus and Remote tethered software for this client with a bigger client at a different price. The new Photoshop subject select tool does a nice job masking in 2023, especially if you switch it to the cloud AI option instead of desktop (see tiny arrow at this Subject Select tab in Photoshop to go to cloud AI select).

For real bad retouch. Omg it's not a retouch it's overpainting with fake stamps and samples. The key of retouch is that you can clear the image from photo error and keep the object real but not like this guide, where you show fake diamonds (or what mineral is that) and do fake corners

The spot removing tool is super cool, but why use it if you ended up brushing over the entire area?

This ring tutorial is excellent. Thank you for some great tips to edit!! Nicely done.

Some great ideas however I would likely try with focus stacking instead. Good tutorial though. I liked where you replaced the diamond with a cleaner inserted image in that area.
