You ladies were great. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it. This book sounds very much like one would enjoy and appreciate putting their hands on to read. I ❤ it !
Thank you so much!
Great interview 💗 One of the best books I’ve read in a long time! The narrative was definitely refreshing (not the typical story of enslaved Africans). I loved the dynamic between the characters of this book as well …very thought provoking. I’ll be following this author for sure …. Waiting for more! 💗
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
@@BrownGirlCollective The thought provoking part…. At first I thought the story was making “light” of the truth to be more palatable for a mainstream, white audience, but by the end I recognized how brilliantly written it was! I appreciate the many levels of privilege in the characters & how that pushed the narrative to new places for the reader to explore & contemplate.
Racially segregated liturgies. There was I thinking that liturgies are for ALL. I guess off putting black liturgies by their very titles are liturgical odes by the grievance industrial complex, the race relations industry; and the fruadelent seeking for reparations for horrors that happened two hundred years ago. not exactly enticing for me as a white ENGLISH woman who blacks racially label as beyond redemption. whilst africa enjoys slavery and selling of CHILD brides chucking all the shit it can at whites who have done some good. no country race is blameless. wish blacks werent so dishonest, toxic, off putting and because of woke RISKY.
3/26/ 2024 I'm standing here in front of The Shombourg library, looking in the window at this book.
I love it!
Wonderful & whimsical conversation ❤
