One of the most UNDERRATED hikes in the CANADIAN ROCKIES - Picklejar Lakes Trail
Welcome back to another hiking video. Today's hike was unexpectedly awesome! While I knew Picklejar Lakes would be a fun adventure, I didn't know how good it would be. This would definitely have to be one of the most underrated hikes in the Canadian Rockies.
For me it drew comparisons to the famous Crypt Lake Trail in Waterton Lakes National Park for its diverse terrain and at times felt like almost the same hike.
As always, thanks for watching and happy hiking!

Bertha Lake Trail in Waterton Lakes National Park | Things to do in Waterton

Hey guys, today we returned back to Waterton Lakes National Park to hike one of our favourite trails, Bertha Lake. Bertha was a bootlegger back in prohibition days so they decided to name a mountain after her and it is the perfect opportunity for hikers of all levels as there is levels to this hike, from Bertha point, Bertha falls, Bertha Lake to Bertha peak. We hiked into Bertha Lake and went ...

Is that dog wearing a Julius K9 harness? Those are the best dog harnesses out there!
I'll bet the seals and penguins are like Perth people competing over north vs south of the river 😂😂
You didn't show maps once
🙏🏼
Did you walk back the way you came? Or is there a continuous trail back?
Same way back!
Nxt year. waterton is insane i love it. Just did a few days there and hiked to bertha for my 40th. We also saw castle falls and fernie....a few hikes there. Kiwi canadian here. Are you from Aussie?
@@sheenahorn9205 yep waterton is amazing! Worked here for 2 summers and always find myself going back! And yes Aussie!
Just did this 3 days ago. God is good. Sunny day on that teal lake. We hiked around the lake...best part . Loved the red shoreline.
Bro you changed the title :)) video is from 2022. That s not cool
It’s all still relevant in 2024
agree with @gabytro - is it still worth it in 2024? what the updates like, how the battery been, what are the competitors now? is this video still relevant no
@@genericfpv it’s 100% still worth it. Based on cost alone, the 7 and 8 are expensive and you can get the 6 for half the price. If you don’t care about the fancy new features the 6 does the job. Mine still runs perfectly fine to this day and I have no current plans on upgrading especially with the cost of the new ones
@@TysonWright so that helps thank you, but you prob will get a few people unhappy with the video title still
This is kinda messed up that you changed the title of a 2 year old video. Your video only gives the perspective and thought of a person (yourself) from 2022. I think you you’re viewership more than that.
Well that was disappointing
Thanks!I can put the waterfalls as my background picture
Sure, if you head to Tyson Wright Photography on Facebook you should be able to download the photo easier to use
@@TysonWright k thanks!
Beautiful

Kennedy Ranges and up in the Kimberley have some challenges as well. Also Mount Augustus. Nicely filmed.

Awesome views, glad to see you posting again. Love this
Let me know if you agree with me, would change anything or if you plan or tackling some hikes after watching this video!
How long did it take to get down again, and was this still with daylight or already dark ?
Probably 30-40 minutes half with some light then the rest in the dark
Lovely 😀 No people Definitely my preference
just keep doing it bro 😊
That’s the plan!
How about you TELL ME WHAT IT IS TYSON
🏔️
Thanks mate, I was looking for some more hikes for my son and I for our own channel and these look awesome. We just went through the Swan Valley Tunnel, so Ghost House is probably next. Thanks again mate
Glad this video could help! You’ll have to let me know which one was your favourite once you tackle them all!
Outstanding trails my friend, beautiful film!
Thanks! Which hike do you like the most from the video?
@@TysonWright I'm not sure what it's called exactly, but it has massive walls around the trail, it looks powerful.
Song name?
wanna be loved by the red clay strays
Plot twist: I’m part of the problem
Hilariously i just learned my vr yt buddy went to Banff this week haha
@@foxbonesmulder I wonder what they thought of the huge crowds
Isn't walking free? And phones already come with a camera. I love hiking. Haven't spent a single buck on it.
If your hobby is photography you're probably not using just a phone camera. It's like the difference between motorcycles and bicycles
It can be free, but it can also be very expensive if you start to invest in good gear
@@TysonWrighttbh this goes for any hobby, anyone can start almost anything for free, but the minute you start to invest in that hobby it becomes a decent paywall, I know from experience when it comes to music
@@MelakiraMusic for sure it can be a money pit if you’re not careful 😅
You can carry your bear spray, I will have my own and 454 casual for backup! Had to use it before and wouldn't be without it!

@TysonWright Inside of course. We still have the right to bear arms. In fact, we just got bump stocks back!!
Every thing thats " big" in media is distractions and look , over the last few years of " covid " hahah. Depp trail ? Who cares really , tate? Like come on , epstein , diddy , list goes on how they have somwhting ready for the moment that the last one ended a new one starts
Interesting take on a completely unrelated topic
When your with a women these days 😅😅
Great feel about this video!
Hi. Ive tried finding this place fir ever. And i just can't. Could you please send me the location. Cheers
The simple answer is No. The vivoactive does exactly the same. Don't get fleeced
Hiked this one but back before sunset. Fantastic walk and yes super windy but so worth it.
Wow- glorious! Moody weather for great photography!
Great video- thank you.
Great video my friend! Very well put together and very straight forward! I’m assuming you haven’t had any issues with the GPS even when you are in a dead zone area?
This is one of my most favourite spots in perth! i have a video on it on my channel too! great to see you go there too!
Super helpful tutorial! Thank you.
Thanks for sharing. 😉👌🏻
can i biking on this trail?😊
Inbuilt solar battery 🔋? Pls tell me
Nice video. And a very good weight lifting workout! Not sure why you lugged that massive camera and super-lens on this trip. A decent cell phone camera would do the trick.
Awesome vid man! Love the stirlings!
Thanks mate! My favourite place in West Aus for sure
Have you hiked for sunrise or sunset?
You can use the very same leash from garmix fenix 5x? And for $300 usd you think it still worth buying on november 2023? TIA
I never owned a 5x but the bands are just standard quick fit fittings so I’m sure they’d be very similar. I think it’s worth it still I still rock mine and with the price tag of the 7x the 6 is an absolute bargain
@@TysonWright Thanks so much bro
One of the harsh realities of travel.. I remember first visiting Banff National Park in 2018 and while busy, it wasn’t as overcrowded as it is today. You could still find peace at some of the popular hotspots, but not anymore. This is why I love hiking and getting out into the backcountry. It gives you the opportunity to get away from the crowds and into spots nobody else can get to. It is the chance to explore these busy places and find peace. What do you think about travel in 2023?
