No, MST does not negate the effects of spell cards it only destroys them. Just because you have destroyed the spell card does mean you've negated the effect. Only when the card effect states you negate the effect and or negate the effect and then destroy it do you negate the effect of a spell card.

it can negate effects, if the cards needs to be on the field to resolve that effect. imperm collem negate that turn, can be negated by MST. but not imperms negate monster effect, that resolves. to name a exemple. if a effect requares a card to be on the field while it resolves. chain 2 destuction will negate that effect. but it doesn't negate the activation, or effects that resolve during activation.

This would be misinformation in reality. They asked what it did, was told is searches but wasn’t told of the other effects that were apart of the same activation. If there were hidden effects that weren’t part of the effect being declared sure but that’s not the case.
