This grip holds up great, the only reason why you may want to redo the grip is after time the outermost silicon carbide particles (that give you maximum the roughness) will eventually wear off leaving the particles that are more deeply embedded in the epoxy. Its still a good grip (better than stock) but after a year it will be substantially less rough in texture. For example, if you use 36 grit silicon carbide for a very aggressive texture, after six months the grip may feel more like 60 grit and after a year more like 80 grit. There is no squishiness as a result of this process and other than the inevitable degradation of your most aggressive texture I consider it a semi permanent modification, as in the epoxy will not break down unless you wish to remove it (by sliding a flat head screwdriver underneath and twisting it to crack the epoxy for example). Also, if you're considering doing this I would suggest you do a search, after I posted this video I found several other videos that are much more concise and better all-around videos on this process.

Also, the tape is very thin hockey grip tape which only serves as a barrier to prevent the epoxy from adhering to the frame so that it can be removed later without damaging the gun. You can also build up parts of the grip, I've taped little aluminum shims underneath the tape to increase the grip in a certain area and it has never shifted or led to any problems.

@@LaxWarrior16 thanks for the response. I thought you were wrapping a bunch of tape layers to build it up. Have you actually removed the hardened silicon carbide and epoxy structure by peeling up the tape? It’s an interesting idea to go back to a stock grip if it isn’t to your liking once epoxied

@@HouTexHemi I have removed these grips numerous times. It's super easy, especially if you only do one or two layers of tape. While the epoxy is very hard it's also brittle, what I usually do is take a thin flat head screwdriver and slide it underneath the layer of tape (between tape and frame) about a quarter of an inch or so and then rotate the screwdriver left or right or pry up on it to crack the epoxy and tear the tape apart. Work your way all the way down one side of the grip then once you have a split in the epoxy and tape you can peel off the rest of the grip. It's super easy

Intresting you say that I’m confused as to which to use I have found about 10 videos of people all using jb weld and about 3 using 15 minute epoxy .

I wonder what is better

​@Sneakyjoe69 I am no pro, nor have I done this yet, but I know I'm not doing this! 30 min epoxy looks like the way to go. If you want to mold your hand and fingers into the grip permanently, this may be an option. The end result wasn't bad, better than I imagined. Thanks for sharing!!!!
