Carl Sandburg Junior High Robbinsdale: The Battle Hymn of the Republic
มุมมอง 1K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Since 1968 it has been the tradition to sing Battle Hymn as the closing number of our Spring Concert. This clip is from the last year that Sandburg was a junior high, 1988. It was also a tradition to invite former choir students to come back and sing. I was always gratified to see so many return each year - some still in high school and others in and graduated from college. It proves once again...

Performed by my 9th grade guys from the Select group KALEIDOSCOPE at our Spring concert 1988. Way too much fun! You can tell that I loved the music of the 50's. After all, I was a teen-ager then. What was there not to love?

This was from our Spring concert 1986. It is our 8th and 9th grade boys from their mixed choirs. The guy playing the bones is a Phy Ed teacher and he was having as much fun as we were. Enjoy!

This is a combination of my 7th, 8th and 9th grade boys from their mixed choirs performing at our Spring Concert, 1987. We had two rehearsals only: first was choreography, second all the rest. Much fun and the guys loved it. Enjoy!

This is my 9th grade Madrigal Singers at the Spring concert 1984, the first year they started video taping my concerts. The video is not very clear, but it will give you an idea of the sound.

This is the girls of the select group Kaleidoscope, from the Spring concert 1988, the last year that Sandburg was a junior high. We've had much fun with this. The dad pictured later on is one of the girls' father and was a total surprise to him. Much Fun! Enjoy

This is a video taken of my combined 7th, 8th and 9th grade boys in 1987, at our Winter concert, the last year that Sandburg was a junior high school. These guys are all from our mixed choirs. Who ever thought you could get a group of guys to do a kick step? Enjoy!
Happy music!😊
I adore this!
Mom and dad LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Fabulous!!!
Love this happy little four hands piece!
I was among those kids in the mid 70's.
I had Mr. Schirmacher for choir for 3 years while at Carl Sandburg. It was one of my favorite classes and brings me great memories. Thank you Mr. Schirmacher. 😁❤️😻
more, More, MORE!!! AH!!!! You guys are SO amazing, wonderful, awesome...I could sit and listen ALL DAY!!!
What a teacher!! If anyone could get these boys to do the kick step you would!! I recall the times when Mr. Schirmacher was my music teacher. He not only taught us boys about music singing and the magic it brings but how to be respectful young men. I still remember the player piano in the room. Baby Face seemed to be the most popular one we played. That time in choir was special as was the teacher. Thanks Mr. Schirmacher.
Steve: Thanks for the compliment. It wasn't hard when I had kids like you to work with. And yes, Baby Face IS your theme song - what a fun memory. So glad that you were a part of those magical years, and, that we've stayed in touch. Bless you, my friend. And best, always, Mr. S. :)
I love singing this song.
