What’s the setup? Very interested I have big bend 2.7 and this would be perfect!
Nice bike! Sorry if you mentioned it, but what did you do to the puke tube with this build? I don’t think the crank case breather is hooked up to anything?
This sounds almost exactly as my flow master outlaw muffler delete, sounds great
The tap from the gas tank is not a vacuum line, its ment to lead overflow gas from the gas cap place
I had the same issue finding a gas cap for that tank so i ended up putting a sportster tank on it and going bobber instead. I have another one of those bikes here im gonna turn into a cafe. Luckily this one has keys. The issue you're having with your carbs is a linkage. Separate thm abd clean the rust off. Dont force it or it will come offf sync and wont allow air in properly.
Soak the carb with 50/50 atf/actone. the original lube nut buster.. good progress..its like 15.00 bucks for a quart of actone.. atf dextron cheapest stuff u find or have
You are awesome , Thank you brother
Nice to see another xs1100 project happening
What type of touch screen radio is that?
FUSE AUTO 10A 32VDC BLADE MICRO2
(22OBX) Thanks Bro -- I went up to the mountains and all of a sudden the washer wasn't working. I thought I froze the tubes somehow LOL. But it was just the fuse.
Have a look for Andy's motorcycle obsession, He did an XS1100 a few years ago.
Don’t buy kits! They’re a waste of money. Your carburetors can likely be repaired. As long as the bodies aren’t trashed. Where did you source the foot rests? I like them.
Thanks man! Amazon: a.co/d/f2K6qZA
Footrests are riveted.
Clubmans will have you leaning far forward. I think you’ll find the stock footpeg position too far forward. The European market XS11 had the pegs farther back. Rearsets would be ideal.
Stock clocks are too bulky. Someone else needs them.
Hows it going man! Just picked up an XS1100 for a quick project on my channel as well too, and just happened to stumble upon your channel. Im about to start work on mine, but im not familiar with them at all haha. Im also in Texas, what part are you in? Great video, definitely following along now!
Nice! I’m in North Houston. What about you?
@@DrJoe-ky5dl rad! I'm in Dallas!
thank you
Thank you! I don’t have one those swivel things. I been wondering how to get in there.
Brooooo sounds so good lmao
Nice! What model and brand are these? I like the design
I would upgrade the fuse box with a water proof Amazon one.. so you can buy spare fuses on the road.. it’s like 10 bucks..
Good progress, I would use the club handle bars vs clip ones. The dependability of the clip on vs the clip ones can slip. The rear pegs can be used as shift changer controls so you can put your feet back. Someone cut my rears off so I can’t do rear shift controls.
I used bbq grill paint😢 had a nice texture to it.. I painted my tank, head light, side covers popsicle orange..
Easy! Club bars and new guages. I'm looking at buying an Xs1100 for a cafe racer build as well!
Nice, your doing well in your progress. Does yours have points? It’s on left side cover. Mine gave me a fit and I choose to do electric ignition .. so I can depend on it to start every time..
Im crossing my fingers on getting an xs1100 soon
Wow hyped for this build
👍👍
Facebook forums a great way to great helpful ideas
Just found your channel I have a 1977 Yamaha xs750 cafe racer I’m building .. I’m in nc … the ground for starter switch on my bike runs from right control to left control through handle bars.. so any painted handle under connector switch won’t work..
The handle bar itself carries the ground ..
Hi Dr. i will be following with great interest. I owned a XS100 in the 80s. It had been in a minor bingle and the front forks were slightly bent, bought it very cheap as the old rider (his first bike ) shit himself and wanted the memories retired. I was 19 at the time and have survived till 65. 🤣 When I wanted to buy a house 2 years later the Bank basically sell it and you have a loan.🥲.
I appreciate the support sir! I had to sell my 1979 XS750 when my wife was pregnant with our third and it was a sad day. I hope you’ll continue to enjoy the process.
The rubber bungs in the pilot jet housings were fitted from new. The pilot jet gets gets petrol from the main jet/emulsion tube housing.
Thank you! I appreciate the info!
The rubber bungs belong there only when there is an open channel between the main and pilot jet housings. If there is no channel, throw the plugs away. If memory serves, the plugs don't belong on that bike.
@@DrJoe-ky5dl Look for passage between pilot and main jet tower. No passage, no plug. I have XS1100SG. No plugs. My XS650 gets plugs.
Thank you! 🙌🏾 lol my wife was gonna kill me because she thought I broke it😂
The motor sounds horrible. Lots or metallic noises. Maybe it's just the audio. If it's a nice truck, no rust, and not ragged out, it's worth an engine rebuild or replacement.
all you had to do was pull the blade out and then put it back in upside down... people are way overthinking this
don't replace it or drop the V8 in. Too much work and $$$
Hey i have the same truck 01 s10 ls v6 and sometimes when i turn it on ,as i accelerate, it stalls and its slugish , and once it gains speed it goes away ,any thoughts ? Ive changed the injectors ,spark plugs and cables , timming belt
Do the S10 throttle body work on a 2000⁹⁸a
Thanks man! Mishi makes some pretty good stuff! I have the same truck for my work vehicle. Unfortunately I have neglected it for some time now. Just did all new brakes rotors, pads, calipers as well as spark plugs & wires! Going to do Rad tomorrow along with a fresh oil change! Next will be a complete suspension overhaul.
Wow man I guarantee you if you check that every oil change it will be the same amount in it because it’s so full it’s sucking it back through the pct system bud
well, I spent the $400+ for the dual can setup from Radium, complete w/adapter cage and enough hose for the job. No rigging, no painting. I'd rather support the companies that support the industry and not some random vendor w/some unknown origin can. Glad it mostly worked for you. I feel comfortable w/spending a few more dollars (US/CAN) for a quality kit from a leading parts engineering company.
Mine doesn’t have a plug but nothing will drain out the hole
Texas your 10 years behind 😂😂😂😂😂
“You’re”
*sidenote - when you replace the radiator, you should replace the oil/transmission cooler connectors. The KEY to it NOT leaking is getting a good seal with the metal hose and the connector. NEVER replace just the gasket. You want a GOOD connection - not a 'should be' good connection. 4.3 vortec is notorious for oil/transmission leaks (ae. air filter banging against it on drivers side). Easy install - remove and replace. **note - make SURE you have the RIGHT connector. There ARE different ones depending on your model/yr. They're cheap $ and WORTH IT.
Having trouble finding all the Triumph videos
We used to do this 💩 in the 2000s and it literally made 0 hp on a dyno (on multiple trucks). That piece is there to help distribute air evenly to each cylinder. People claim it makes a difference but the dyno doesn't lie.
If putting a single catch can it’s supposed to be on the PCV line in the back. This is not going to prevent much
Wow that's amazing, sounds just like a Honda lawnmower
you did it wrong, now your're going to have a high idle. the rivets need to stay there.
I think I'm gonna wait until a get the K&N performance intake to install this since I'm already gonna have to take off the factory ones but overall seems like a simple install can't wait to get them both soon
