Second control wrong !
Классно музыка..
Have you started using bone conducting headphones to select and add the audio?
@@johnrobertson7583 I have a hearing aid, but I can only hear music without the words. Is it not suitable for music? 👀
It’s really hard for me to find music that fits a video. I don’t study sound, so it might not match perfectly.
Hello. I was wondering about your multiple channels. Are they all "verified" or whatever? I tried making a separate one for uploading orienteering videos to, but it does not have the same rights as my original channel.
Hello! I’m not sure about that. I don’t have verification and only have one channel.
What an amazing compilation video - thanks.. there are some of your events that I must have missed so will go back and watch them... and to be honest, I loved the idea so much I might make my own compilation - although I haven't been to nearly as many exotic locations as you :) My favourite was the event at the snow sports stadium
Nice recap. The terrain in Spain looked very exotic and interresting! Happy New year
No2? Nice course and cool run
Haha, you checked quickly! I didn’t check the control number, which is why I got DSQ. :D
@@Kiziev HAHAHA what a bummer.... I realized that the control points were quite similar to yours and I said to myself, hey wait he checked on the wrong one.... Keep running, mate. I see some of the videos from a few orienteers as I was running myself when , Love the sport
@@Divedown_25 Yes 😅exactly. For me, it’s just for fun, but during competitions, I always have to check.
Nice effort. Hard start up the hill to Østmarksetra!
It's a bit difficult because of the snow, but it's still fine.
Good run! As one of the course setters, your Langløpet videos are among my annual favourites!
Stupid route to #5? Straight through the top saddle would have been easier and faster! Did you try to intentionally make #7 as hard as possible?
Not to sound stupid, but I'm also curious. :D Ok, to be honest, I'm taking an honest and serious approach next year.
@@Kiziev
The valley crossing the terrain is know among orienteers as "avgrunnen", the abyss. Popular among course setters. Not so much among runners maybe.
The abyss is in the forest. :D For me the map is interesting, and I saw a deer at 48:33. But through the video, it's difficult to see.
@Kiziev We had the same leg to sacond in middle. I chose long right. Easy running and clear entry to the control, but too long to be the fastest.
@@JonLahlum Yes, I agree with you. But for me, I'm also interested in "what's out there" as if researching or scanning the location for the next time will be better. That way, I can be aware of which option is better to choose depending on the situation with the maps. :)
Closed gate to 7 was nice change :) It was quite nice training and your speed with that low HR, respect :)
Yeah... I'm not sure because I think that's a private house. Thank you! :)
Would really like there to be sound on these videos! Though I understand it may be difficult:)
I'm sorry about that because I'm deaf. How does it feel to be deaf? And you understand.
Pretty good, except for a few places where you avoided the paths, and maybe too large a detour when climbing up on top of the hill again near the end?
What moment minutes? About near the end. Thank you!
@@Kiziev To #12 where you first ran in the hillside, then dropped down to the ski track and run around almost via 14? I noted that Kasper ran straight here. 🙂
@@TerjeMathisen Oh yeah, I'm interested in what their plans are for running. I think they shouldn't have followed that route. Just curious. Even to #19, it’s a difficult choice, but I think going straight is better than taking a detour because it’s fewer kilometers and both altitude gain. What do you think? Would you run straight? I almost made a few mistakes in choosing the route, but overall, it was an interesting map. :)
Really good run as usual...you run so fast and come up on a lot of people on narrow trails...do you have a clicker or something to alert them to your presence? #13 looked odd...clue sheet seemed to be “inside SW corner of cliff”...granted I don’t know enough about ioc symbols...but it appeared to be at the SE corner...
Nice technical execution. Your video production skills are really getting amazing. The google earth to background fade to map morph, and the new scalar info along the screen edges...👍🏻...hoping for some woods events so I can follow the control clue inserts you use...
Thank you! You can use with programs. You can read more here: kiziev.life/u And you should read about the programs and the Step by Step Guide.
Yes I will. I’ve watched Evgeny video several times for the techniques. Sadly I’ve run into just about every issue that could plague video creation...battery failure, gps track anomalies, dumb running errors...🙄 But lately it’s been my events are two hour runs, Between being score-o or things around 10-12k, and those videos take 5-7 hours just to encode, and then the result wouldn’t be all that appealing. My earlier events were around 75-90 minutes, but those were the ones that I kept having issues with.
@@johnrobertson7583 I don’t know who Evgeny is. Can you show me? I’d like to know. How do you use GPS, from a watch? And what do you use, a PC or a Mac? If it’s a PC, which processor model and other specifications do you use? I’m thinking of creating an overview of the equipment for my PC. I’ll write to you once I’ve done it on my website.
@@johnrobertson7583 So, I’ve added details about my PC. You can find them here: kiziev.life/u/#specs. And I'm planning to buy a new Mac Mini M4. It's better and has a better price than my PC.
what's this about? i'm confused.
Bad route to #8?
@@TerjeMathisen Because it can’t go through a bush.
I think he was wondering why you didnt turn right once you got to the first street after you passed the person with the pink washtub...
@@johnrobertson7583 Oh, I didn’t think of that. I guess I was wrong.
Bring back a normal camera. Remove the wide angle. It's impossible to watch without pain.
Thanks for the feedback! I totally understand that the wide-angle view isn't for everyone, but I actually prefer it for my videos. Since I don’t have any sponsors, I’m sticking with this setup for now. Hope you can still enjoy the content! :) And what device are you watching on mobile, tablet, or PC/Mac?
@@KizievPC and mobile. Thank you.
@@MrFantomates I recommend viewing on a PC or tablet screen, because mobile screens are very small.
damn i like these 60-year old maps edited in OSMTopo which show nothing and have angles not even matching the satellite
Yes, I can imagine it in the 60s, but I wasn’t there. I’m still young. :)
@@Kiziev you are going nowhere until you take your time and update maps created by your grandfathers in 25 years they will literally be unusable
Always interesting and educational to try to analyze others mistakes and learn from them! We all do them (especially I, it seems sometimes). Great run between the mistakes and nice with the new display of information.
Краще бігати по стежці, менше втомитися
@@RuslanNikolaenko27 Так, я згоден з тобою. Але краще бігти прямо, ніж по дорозі, проте все залежить від ситуації.
Nice video...do you like the 13? After a 40 minute run, how much battery life was left? I bought the enduro batteries for my 10 and had 30% left after 1.5 hours...Also, I solved my gps track issue where quickroute would not let me clip the ends...i edited the GPX track in notepad based on the times of the points...I dont know if you have ever had to use that feature of quickroute...
Thank you! I like the Hero 13. I recorded a video in 4K60 for 1 hour, and it used almost 85-90% of the battery. I use Livelox, not QuickRoute. You can read more here about the programs I use: kiziev.life/u
You orienteered a lot better on Saturday, maybe a bit tired/loss of concentration?
I arrived at the arena around 9, so I waited until my start at 16. That’s why I was tired, I think. Saturday went well for me, but I made a few mistakes.
A really stupid route to #1, and you were still top 6? That's amazing! EDIT: I saw another mistake to #3, but then you did very well on the long leg to #4 and from then on "you were away from the maddening crowds" :-)
@@TerjeMathisen Yeah. The race was fast, so I found it hard to read the map. At #3, I made a mistake because I turned the map the wrong way and realized the location didn’t match. But I quickly figured it out and fixed it. And of course, it’s hard to overtake a lot of people.
Also I have been curious as to when you run in the rain. Do you still use the external battery pack with the non watertight side door on the camera? I recently got two of the enduro batteries...and got nearly 30 more minutes of runtime on my hero10 before the battery got to 25%...I think I changed it out about 1 hr 12 minutes into my event...
I don't have an external battery, so nothing that isn't more or less waterproof. (But I do have the enclosure as well)
Not with the Contacto Magnetic Door in the video, I know when it's enough recording for 60 minutes over a 6-7 km distance. But if it's over 7 km or 60 minutes, I always bring the Contacto Magnetic Door cable and the Battery Vest.
@@TerjeMathisen If recording a video in 1080p at 30 fps, it saves more battery than at 60 fps.
Thanks. I will have to look into that. My last event i remembered to carry a spare battery…but the time difference of the gps to the track wasnt correctable midway thru the event…🤬…once again i learned from my mistake and will pause my tracking and just create two spliced videos…or just run faster and not make a 15 minute mistake…🙄🤐
I just looked at the cable and door combo…it has the samemissue as the usb c cable i tried the other day…the cable needs to point up, not backwards, since i mount my cam directly to my shoulder strap…so i will source a door and 90deg connector and seal it with RTV…
Does the GPS there have that large an error? You were on the left side of that copse going to #1 but the track shows you almost 20 meters to the East just before you made that sharp left turn...
Yes, it's strange. Maybe it's an issue with Livelox or Garmin, I'm not sure why this is happening.
You orienteered much better than what I did in the Middle course!
Most likely due to being 30 years younger!!! 🤔
How do you do it, how can you read the map so accurately? Respect!
Thank you! There were a lot of tracks because there were many participants in the competition. The map was great. :)
@@Kiziev I liked your videos, now I watch others and try to catch the passage of maps in nature. I have a problem with this myself, as I often get lost in the microrelief.
Nice run. Again tough...but not like Finland! Although it’s not very apparent in an uploaded video...what/differences have you seen from the Hero8? You always ran really smooth with it...the videos looked good.
Thank you! Yes, it’s not like that in Finland. You can read it on the community. It was posted 7 days ago. :)
Really nice run in what looks like quite demanding long course and terrain! And 1,5 hours of battery time on that new GoPro isn’t that bad. I see what you mean with your headlamp, the view is limited compared to more powerful lights and with a wider spreading of the beam.
Yes it's! Thanks.
I forgot to put the audio track back into that video, so I had to upload a new version and got rid of the one you watched. I tried putting subtitles in, but I dont see them.
Nice run. Im glad its you and not me having to navigate in that terrain. And it even looks nice than all those rocks in Finland!
Haha. :) Yes, they are special in Østmarka.
Hello…another nice run. Two questions…the dirt road you are on going to #1…i thought ordinarily that would be shown in black with large dashes…we have roads like that in our area…should our mapmakers benusing solid brown instead? Second…i was sure that when i was watching earlier today, there was a QR code for scanning to view a video detailing how to create headcam videos…i cant see it in this clip…
Hi, thanks! :) 1. I think this is the way for skiing. I mean roads. 2. Where is the QR code? Sorry, I don't understand. You can watch the video again from your history: th-cam.com/users/feedhistory.
41:12 🧏♂👍
fast paced. thanks for sharing. more like a forest sprint.
Mye regn den dagen 🙈
Jo! Det var en gratis dusj.
Hi you're back)
Hi Amid, of course! ;)
Hi Kiziev, nice run! From control 4 to 5 I think both the stone walls and the fences are mapped as passable, there's no need to go that far around.
Yes, you're right. I just made a mistake along the way. I’m not thinking much about it because the last orienteering was on June 25th. Hi! I'm glad you run with the GoPro too. :)
I love watching these videos when the map is correct and the runner is accurate
Yes, it is really important to read through and fix any mistakes. Thank you!
Как-то не аккуратно
start - 1 ?? omg ! too hard for me
Yes, a lot of training in orienteering. :)
Hello. I just completed my latest event with my hero10. What I noticed last month, and today when viewing the video...that the camera had made 6 videos of about 11 minutes each for my one hour event. Terje told me what programs he uses for putting the track into the video, but he has not responded to my question about not only if he also has split clips, or how to splice them. Do you have to do the same thing? Thanks.
Hi! :) You can read here: kiziev.life/u about how to use a video with a route and other things.
So fun following your race! Very educating as well. Thank you!
You made even more mistakes than I did, not one of your best races.
Congratulations! I just had a fun race.
@@Kiziev I had one really bad mistake (3+ minutes) where I was standing right next to the control without seeing it. 😞
Do any of your event promoters set courses with the miniature controls? When we have events at smaller venues, we set brown and green routes with a few of them in places like very small rootstock or in a ditch…so talk about being right next to one…at 6 inches those things are brutal!
@@johnrobertson7583 Our club coach often use them for training courses, with the small reflective stripe on them, they are useable for both night and day. The only problem is that since they tend to hang out much longer than regular flags, the colors have faded noticeably.
Looks like your friend was glad to see you at 6...
Yes. 😅He said "I missed (was looking for) a CP and met you."
