Well well well. This may shock people, I may be written off as a weirdo but here goes. As a child my parents were often freaked out because I called people “brother” and I had lots of people I would talk about who were “brother name”. When I played football I wanted to be Brother Avon. I remember this, all I remember thinking was brother Avon was very good at football! They took me here when I was 4 and apparently I was screaming hysterically and would not go in. To the extent that they were very worried, literal terror. I have never researched it before, but here I am. I never knew it was haunted. Perhaps I should go back as an adult.

This place looked great on Landmark Trust website, however it looks like they've changed it and opened the tower to the Public. In older photos (which have since been removed from Landmark Trust's website) you could see that the dining room was in the old part of the Church. Looks like they've sold out and let the annoying, noisy, nosey public into the property which I think would ruin the experience of staying there with people gorping through the windows and shouting, etc while you're trapped inside trying to avoid them. This is the old photo which Landmark have since removed from their site. If they hadn't let the flippin' public in, then I would have definitely booked this place. As a result, they've lost my business and the business from other people like me who want a relaxing, remote and peaceful break. i stayed in hawkers cottage in west it was great , good vid keep it up it helps to see the places :)

You can book stays in this property through the owners Landmark Trust. They have lots properties like this round the country.

@semw52 I can defiantly see how it could be haunted, but I think alot of these old building have that feeling about them... great place.

I live local and have been inside as well--I love this place--a medieval priory with links to the knights who murdered Thomas a Becket---it is also haunted as my NT guide informed me--hoping to go up in the tower. sheila

That place just screams history, I love it!!!
