I wish I would have heard this sermon before I voted. I felt pressure from all around to vote for one of the two candidates when I stated I wasn't going to vote. I am praying for forgiveness for voting in this election. God is always right, and His word is true. Man's ways are not God's ways. Thank you again for this message. Absolute Authoritarianism; ultimately, leading to Totalitarianism. Thus, obedience becomes seen as the ultimate virtue for humans. Now, personally, for me, I find that premise to be very .. boot-lick-ie. As a sentiment, it does seem to be born (or "emergent") from a deep sense of desire to be dominated by a completely entitled male authority figure. Thus, there's a sense of need to weave a narrative that tries to justify that entitlement. As I see it, any BEING who has that much power and also who reasons "I brought you into this world. Thus, I own you and can do whatever I want to you.", ... is not a morally impressive Being. If I were floating in an infinite void where: only I existed, and I only I had ever existed, and if I had unlimited power, and if I decided to make and populate a world of extra-vulnerable people, ... IF I then *also* had the ethical character and "heart" that I (the person writing this comment) has, then: There's no way I'd reason that way. There's no way I'd feel so entitled to do whatever I want to other sentient beings. There's no way I'd disrespect my SELF so grievously that: I'd first create one special species (among countless non-special species) where just that one species was created in my own likeness, and then: treat them: sometimes good but: usually like crap on the premise that: "if I'm the one hurting them, then it's GOOD simply because I'm the one doing it". and then also: "intelligently design" them to treat each other like crap, and then also: condemn them for behaving consistent with that design, and then also: often DEMAND that they hurt each other too, and then also: base every decision I make on trying to get as many people as possible to fear-based-love-me, because of: having only created them in the first place so that they could tell me how GREAT I AM; and thus: ONLY THEN could I have a "relationship" with them.
