How I Make My Fabric Earrings | Scrap Sewing Projects | Scrunchies, Tote Bags + Earrings
Welcome to the video! After a few requests from my first video, I am showing you how I make my fabric earrings with scrap fabric, as well as two other scrap fabric sewing projects including a patchwork scrunchie and tote bag!
Sewing with scraps is a great way to help reduce wastage and helps to stop fabric ending up in landfill unnecessarily. There are so many projects you can make with scraps whether they are big or small.
Timestamps for projects in this video:

My First Market VLOG | better than I could EVER have expected! | craft market prep + sewing
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
Welcome to my very first video! In this video I am preparing for my second ever market, making lots of cute dog collars, leashes, and matching accessories. Disclaimer, this video was filmed quite a while ago and it has taken me some time to feel confident enough to post it, but I am happy with the final video (even though it is long!) and want to put it out there in hopes that it may spark some...

    I use a walking foot with my Singer that looks just like the one you have.. It's great for thick items sewing. Helps to keep the fabric from slipping.

    Does your sewing machine have a switch for sewing instead of a presser foot?

    • @lorijayne
      @lorijayne ปีที่แล้ว

      It still has a regular foot pedal to sew, the switch on the front of the machine is for backstitching, it does kind of make it look like that’s how I’m operating it though! 😅

    I have a Cricut and wanted to try making vinyl tote bags for my brand but in the end, I decided not to go ahead with it just because for me there's too much waste. I couldn't justify the amount of vinyl that needs to be tossed in order to make the products, so in the end, I jettisoned the idea entirely and ended up returning the vinyl and tote bags to Amazon.

    • @lorijayne
      @lorijayne ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s completely fair enough, there can be a lot of waste with it! I’ve now started cutting out around the design first before peeling it and use the smaller off cuts to make my logos with using the SnapMat feature in design space, for that exact reason 😊

    Such "Beautiful" products. Everything is so "colorful "!. Can i ask, how was your "lighting"?. Did you have a chance to use it?.. Or no, because it started raining?..tfs

    • @lorijayne
      @lorijayne ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! I love lots of colour! I forgot to mention the lighting at the end but yes I got to use it and have used it a few times since and it is excellent! 100% recommend! They light everything up so well and the charge lasts well beyond how long the box said it would 😊

    Congrats on your successes!! If I may offer a tidbit of advice......... Don't stop prepping! when You make a particular print don't just make one to replace the one that sold make two or three and when that one sells at a market replace it with the exact same item. You have the print out and by making multiples at once you can then maybe focus on another print next time always continuing to add new prints. I do not sell the same items as you but I have a MASSIVE 4 day market coming up and I have to ensure I have 1000's of items to be able to make it through the 4 day event. In total I think it's like 32 hours that my stall will be open I have been prepping non stop (almost 12 hours daily) for the past week and still have 2 more weeks to go. I look at things a bit differently than others I guess because I think if I sold completely out of something I actually LOST A SALE. So I want to ensure that I have 1-2 left out of the 12-14 of each print that I am making to take with me. In MY opinion you can NEVER have enough back stock ESPECIALLY if markets are something you're going to continue with. Best Wishes

    • @lorijayne
      @lorijayne ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! Absolutely, that is actually more how I’m handling my stock now that I have more market experience under my belt and you’re so right - you can never have too much stock! Hope the 4 day market went well for you if it has now passed since your comment 😊

    Definitely buy your vinyl from online places like Skat Katz, vinyl world and other places like that. It’s much cheaper and easier to work with than the cricut branded vinyl. They charge a fortune! If you like doing this kind of stuff, definitely consider in the future to upgrade to a heat press, either like an easy press or clam shell press :)

    • @lorijayne
      @lorijayne ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the recommendations! I ended up going with HTVront vinyl but will also check out the ones you mentioned 😊 and yes some sort of heat press will definitely help if I keep making them 🧡
