Very impressive model of the sd9043mac locomotive from Athearn Genesis, I am very satisfied that a manufacturer has produced the sd80/90 Mac series models available in ho scale again since Kato no longer produces any ho scale locomotive models. Athearn has really improved their locomotive quality features over the past 5 years and the Genesis 2.0 series has produced many incredible locomotive models, this sd9043 model is fantastic as I am a big fan of the emd sd 70,80,90 Mac series models.

Very nice locomotive. I have a couple of them on my HO Scale Union Pacific locomotive roster.. I have a couple of the 6,000hp version, SD90MAC-H locomotives in Union Pacific as well.

@@roadsscholar4012 Thank you for watching. I have a small 6.5' x 2' layout with petrochemical complex in the background. The older sections I built a few years ago have been scrapped.
@@ultimateinspector4901 Well, the older sections were an incredible display of scratch building!
@@roadsscholar4012 Yes, however I just didn't have time to maintain the garage layout like I wanted. Also we were in the process of moving. So after I put them in storage, I went back and found them needing more work than previously required. This time I'm building smaller 6' x 2' modular style sections to use and I will keep them inside the house so they won't be damaged by this Texas summer weather. The garage was cold in the winter and close to boiling during the summer months.
@ultimateinspector4901 I know what you are talking about. I live in Georgetown TX and my layout is in the garage where I am right now. No heat, no air conditioning. Good luck with your new layout and I look forward to more videos.

Once again I really like your layout. It's well laid out and I especially like your weathering. You have a lot of knowledge about refineries. Did you work at one at one time?
Thank you, Yes I started working in them back in the mid 1990s. I was an Ironworker back then. I also lived near them in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the 1980s.
