    I've spent my whole life building things I could've bought. It always costs you. Though building your own isn't about saving money. The process, the learning, the project and the satisfaction keep me building. So good job. You could have bought one but you built one. Well done.

    Is this boat design a CNC Marine Work Boat? What model is it? CNC Marine TH-cam channel and shows a 6410WB Work Boat with twin engines and lower sides and yours looks like that model but a larger size. Is there enough room to comfortably sleep two people in the forward cabin?

  • @BattleScar09
    @BattleScar09 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That’s brilliant, you cannot buy a boat of that size with that setup for anywhere close to that amount, certainly the way to go! What would you change now if you could go and redo anything?

    How long did the alloy build phase take you, and was it just your self or how many buddy’s helped you with the fitting ? Have you built boats before ? I did watch the full video, maybe I missed these questions Thanks man

    • @FindingMatty
      @FindingMatty 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate From memory, the actual alloy phase was about 2 months, we had the boat on the water in 5ish- from memory It was super quick, and quicker than I would probably suggest haha!! Not because we rushed anything, just because the build took up our whole lives for them months, it was literally work, then head to the boat. We would regularly get to the workshop and camp there for the weekend putting in wild days…. But we wanted it done haha Just one mate really, and he was the brains of the operation not me, that’s for sure haha He had built one smaller boat, another kit and was a very competent welder, he really was the reason it came together so well I just cut stuff up and used a grinder haha!! In my opinion, if you can manage the welding side of it, and are some what practical minded it would be possible without doing one previously

    in regards to towing weight, i,m guessing your 79 tows it, does the 79 have the standard 3.5ton maximum tow capacity? how much does the boat weigh and the trailer? thanks much.

    • @MattyRacingLife
      @MattyRacingLife 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate We weighted it full of fuel on the trailer but with no gear and it came in at 3.51t Keeping in mind it holds 720l of fuel I just tried to not tow it full too far to kind of balance the extra weight of the gear once loaded if that makes sense. In terms of performance- 79 and even my work hilux towed it just fine

    The bore was great back in 2019. But since then they capped the bore and it dried up all the bird life left. It’s a shame because it was a pretty place. The lumpy dunes at back of the camp area was interesting to explore.

  • @stuarth43

    The floor you mention is actually the COCKPIT SOLE FLOORS are athwartships structures that hold the hull together, gunnels are side decks, there is a foredeck, sides are topsides plates, cabin sides are coamings trouble is all your structural sections are most likely 8064 that is not marine 55 years building in alu swa stringers from 5083 plate eh, but good fer you you jave your boat

If that EPERB let you down you and your mate were fish food for 35 mile back to shore. if those 2 sharks had a combined weight of say 250 kgs my first thought is a 7 mtre 2.4 beam ally plate boat should of held up better.....You recon she might have been top heavy?
