For "friendly fights" it's good enough even if it it's a mild steel. If it's hardened it's almost undestructable. I have different thickness everywhere. Lelgs 1-1.2 hardened, currais 1-2.0mm hardened, helmet 2mm mild steel. What are you going to do with that? For buhurt/HMB fights it's not enough, unless it's hardened. You know, not every part of your armour has to be the same thickness and every Kg is counted.

Hello, good question, we don't use classic hema federschwerts because of their flexibility. Sword for harnichfechten must be more sturdy. During filming we don't use tip protection, but for training etc. we use blunt rubber tips to mitigate injuries.

Hi, Some techniques from codex Gladiatoria_(MS_Germ.Quart.16) ca. 1435 - 1440. But most of the time from practice and knowedge transfers from other more experienced fighters/ fencing masters. Sadly historical manuscripts almost never describes sword and large shield techniques.

I have simply never seen anyone winning with a short grapped twohanded swoard or doing a successful throw which wasn t easy to counter...but i have to mention that i enjoy u r content and your gear...just keep in mind, it s like "karate is good against karate, but is it also good against kung fu". I m just not a fan of fencing books and questioning the sence of coreo

@@patrickeibl2018 I got your point. But "I'm fencing for 20 year", or "I have never seen" are no valid arguments. Sorry. People can "do fencing" for 30 years and still doing the same mistakes or just don't train enough. And watching football won't make you master. Watching tournaments is not attending or even winning them. Also depends what tournaments are you watching, what rules are there. Harnischfechten is not bloss fechten. If you want to see using grapling against bohurt or HBM fighters (althought I do not normaly fight along HMB rules), you can watch some of our other vids> th-cam.com/video/7B78ncALgb4/w-d-xo.html . I had two medals from this tournament, rules forbids stabbing of course. Without providing any arguments from your side, besides "opinions", I have zero chance to change your mind or convince you. Because using facts vs believes is pointless :) Wish you luck :)

Combination, swords and axes are from steel, all poles must be from rubber to mittigate injuries. Soft, padded arrowheads.

@@dequitem I don't think it's necessary to always use full gear when you train techniques during the sparring. Sometimes it's better to sustain longer with less weight (our training usually has like 2.5 hours). By closed visor you mean what? We both have sallets with visors.

@@skupinahistorickehosermuad3998 it's okay, I was only interested, if there is a logical reason? With a closed visor I think about eye protection (a visor with only little holes or a mesh inside). Sometimes it's better to use a fencing mask for Harnischfechten. So that you can thrust to the eye section without trouble!

@@dequitem You are right. For more competetive harnisch I have this bicoque close helmet, but it is not so comfortable for longer use and harder to take it on. But, as you say, definitely safer. Sometimes, when we don't want to be overwight, we have plastic breastplates under armingdoublets, like for sport HEMA. Just to be sure... I think we had them this time, but I don't remember.
