Captain America’s shoulder is fine
2:20 “Bullshit!” A modern PG movie.
In case those who didn't know back then the ring announcer would sometimes toss a two colored coin to decide which fighter gets which corner.
This give me motivation this film
😢
When I was 13 or 12 my cousin got killed. She of carncer❤
Football is a rough sport In my high-school They had what was called a Blood pit Where 2 players hit each other till blood came Never could understand that one
It is a tough sport but this "blood pit" sounds illegal. You are not supposed to intentionally hurt your players. If I was a parent, I would have a few words for the coach that would do that.
He was wrong. It's called being a practice hero. Trying to impress coaches when it doesn't matter. The purpose of offense drills is to teach and workout kinks in the offens, not get your teammate injured. And in practice your not hitting at 100% and your not mentally prepared for a fellow teammate to hit you at 100
Yes Billy, a great scene. BTW Im a new subscriber. Greetings from South Charleston, West Virginia. Semper Fi
Billy this is a great scene but if you want to make a point. Get a good copy 😊
This is where the term Ruffin the passer came from
Is it plugged on to usb?
When I was in College, (Go WSU Warriors!), I was also in ROTC at a sister college, UW-La Crosse (WI). In between my Junior and Senior years, as all ROTC cadets did at the time, you went to "Advanced Camp" at Fort Lewis, WA to teach you Army leadership and skills. When there, EVERY soldier is assigned a battle buddy. Regardless of sex. Mine was a genuinely outstanding POC female and she went to Marshall. I did not know the history of this tragedy. The year I speak of is the summer of 1998. One night, in the cold NW Pacific forest off Fort Lewis, we were on guard duty together (She and I would always partner up...she was my BATTLE!) and she told me this story of the crash and the rebuild and how PROUD Marshall was and still is. I can't not think of her when I watch this movie or see clips. When you had to speak or brief to a cadre, you had to state your last name, what college you went to, and the motto. She was always so proud. "JOHNSON, MARSHALL UNIVERSITY.....HOME OF THE THUNDERING HEARD!"
Red’s talk with Jack right after this exchange should’ve been included in the clip. The entire sequence is amazing. I’m not defending Ruffin’s hits but it really gives his perspective (with the music). He was broken up about the crash with guilt and sadness. Ruffin also had a hurt shoulder. When you play football, particularly defense, being on the field is a release from your problems. Red’s exchange with Jack after this scene shared much of the same sadness, guilt, and anger. We Are Marshall is in the top 5 football movies all-time for me. I studied about the crash long before the movie came out. For those who don’t know, Marshall had been presented with movie ideas before this one and turned them down. The university was adamant about the movie being authentic (not taken in a different direction by Hollywood). It was produced brilliantly. One of my favorite movies.
Ruffin had survivors guilt. He felt he should've been on the plane with his teammates.
Him and the coach had it
In today’s world he would’ve been fired because of how soft society is now a days.
Not in college. I played D1 2011-2015 and I saw this on the regular. I’ve seen players and coaches fist fight before. NFL he would have been fired because a coach hitting a player would be accompanied with other team issues as well. But you are right. Society has become soft
No way
@@josephkearney1332YES WAY YOU CAN’T EVERY BE HAPPY ABOUT A DAMN TOUCHDOWN CAUSE EVERYONE IS A BUTTHURT ASS CRYBABY
Dr Dre , brother Tyree death 😢😢sorry he’s gone Future ❤
“YOU THINK YOURE THE ONLY ONE THATS HAD IT ROUGH?!” -completely silent after. This was real, not acting
When u care 🤙🏿✊🏿😍💙❤
I cry every time... They were brothers from the moment they met
*Example of how just because you are technically following the rules* (playing to the whistle. Tackle football.) doesn't make you right or moral. He was bullying new fellow teammates out of rage, not playing with sportsmanship or team spirit.
First hot was dirty. Second hit guy said we are on the same team. It’s practice not an actual game. Third hit was late on the 2nd string quarter back. He’s taking it out on the new replacements. Waaay too aggressive. So much emotion in this movie.
Would have made it better if he yelled I was suppose to be on that plane.
"You think you're the only one who's had it rough!?!!?" McConaughey: "well his name is Ruffin after all"
Julius and Gerry started off hating each other, then became brothers in arms
Poor Papa Doc, first he loses to Eminem in an epic rap battle, and now he’s struggling on the gridiron. Guy can’t catch a break.
This guy's a football player? His real name's Clarence!
@@wcmatt he lives with both parents

What's a very sad but amazing movie at the same time
My favorite Boxing movie of all times😁👌
Mine too!!
Such an intense scene man. So much emotion! And that music in the background! This scene was f*cking PERFECT!
King Yang glad they suck
@@johnwaffleh2p70 Why are you continuing to bash Marshall? Is that all you do in your spare time? Marshall does NOT Suck, you suck John Waffle. You're refusing to grow up and continue to show no loyalty. So, grow up, get lost and that's the bottom line 'cause Austin said so!
I cried at this cuz I felt that shit 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔
Saw this movie when it came out,. It was so good!
It's my favorite Boxing movie

Drago's Walk Out
1:19 That looked like a clean hit to me so why did that guy start a fight with Ruffin
because its meant to be a no contact training drill
watching the movie will give you a better understand of this scene - theres more to it
@@BiGS_-gb3qe Yeah that would explain it
@@phillyeaglesforlife5127 Yea ruffin was a bit of a sour puss but the whole movie is gold.
That definitely was not a non contact drill.
That coach had every right to do that, because Ruffin is hitting his (mostly) new teammates all aggressively and late because he's mad about the plane crash that killed all his close teammates, and what he did isn't gonna solve anything at all, it's just gonna make an already complicated situation worse
What I like about this scene is that Coach Dawson had to be the archetypal strong silent type for every body else. But Ruffin's behaviour pushed him to the edge in this scene. Although Ruffin was was hurting, Coach Dawson's pain would have been ten fold. He feels like he failed his team.
I looked everywhere for this one scene.
MannyT Supra me too mate
Me four, mate.
