Vespa GTS300 won't start. Fault finding to get it back on the road.
Hi. in this video I am fault finding on my GTS 300 SUPER SPORT.
Vespa would not start, totally dead and no idea what was wrong (I had a feeling though).
from simple checks to checking electrics.

Tanpan now fitted and a couple of rides under its belt. Only needs a small adjustment at the barrel and it will be fine. Works great tho.

Hi mate, what grease did you use
Hi, I used Fenwicks assembly grease. it is marketed as a cycle grease but it is quite thick and highly water resistant. thanks.

Thanks for posting. I'm in search of a replacement bulb holder, do you know the part number for this as I can't find them on the web anywhere? The issue is that the wiring is in place but needs rewiring as there is a lose connection. When wire is twisted the sidelight comes on but release the tension and it turns off. I essentially need a new bulb holder with wires attached so I can connect the two.
Hi. i have been looking for this item and cannot find it either. You may have to go to a dealer service section for the item or code. Another place may be a breakers yard. sorry.

Hi from Aviemore! Shimano really have made a dogs dinner out of their road/mtb drivetrains and incompatibilities. My "winter" bike soon to be "climbing" is built from odds and ends- on the drivetrain front it's 10spd Tiagra 4600 STI's, 105 10spd FD, 9spd M592 RD and I've only just swapped out the compact chainset for an FSA Tempo Adventure 46/30 and that's running with 11-36 at the back...TBH 30/46 isn't really low enough for a bloke my age and weight.... Not sure where to take it from here as the RD may stretch to an 11-40 maybe with a Sunrace roadlink thingy. It has the capacity (45T) to do this (29+16), but I've also got a Deore M6000 GS mech sitting new in a box and I'm wondering if I could put the Wolf Tooth DM Goatlink on that with a 46T low cassette(30/46 would be a brilliant low gear) to get the mech physically in the right place and clearing the cassette edges- but would this TanPan work with fixing 4600>M6000 pull ratios?? (No wonder they've brought out "Cues"...!)
Hi. The 4600>M6000 should be fine as both are 10 speed. The M6000 GS is a long cage version so the Goatlink should allow you to take a 46tooth cassette. Just remember to check the chain is long enough and can accomodate the new setup. Let me know how you get on. 👍

How do you find the shifting when the tanpan is covered in mud and other scum?
Hi. It's been fine when covered in mud. More issues with the usual grass in the rear derailleur to be honest.
Wonder if this can mate 10speed Ultegra shifters with new 11sp Ultegra R800 derailleur with clutch.

The website said that tiagra 4700 brifter must using sh11 with 11 speed rd. Do you think it can be used with tanpan sh10 with deore 5120 rd? Because I already got the sh10
Hi, I have had a look at the website and I see the issue. It looks like it will work but the shifting may not be as smooth as it can be. If you already have all the parts, give it a go to see how you get on. Nothing really to lose. Let me know how you get on. 👌

In the end I must buy again tanpan SH11 for 11 speed shifter. After that the deore 5120 RD work smoothly with tiagra 4700 brifter, it even more than I expected, so tiagra 4700 brifter will work with every shimano 11 speed MTB RD with 10 speed sprocket

Hi, Yes it will work. Just make sure the Deore XT cage will fit the 36 tooth cassette.

Hi.Shimano 5700 is 10speed and Deore is also 10speed, so yes.

Hey there fellow Freelander 2 owner! I have a 2013 with heated windshield and that blocks the GPS signal big time. So I'm running a GPS antenna and signal booster from the rear tail light. Hi, Good idea. I had a GPS tracker in the back panel next to the 12v socket. The receiver unit was up next to the rear side window, just under the grill, and got a great reception. Hope it goes well. Thanks.

Are you talking about TT bar end shifters? If so, I would say yes as they move the cable the same distance as a road shifter.

So many thanks for taking the time to put up this video. I was confused on how the cable threads through the tanpan but your video explained how it's done. Additional thanks for setting up on a table so it's easier to see how it all works.

It's still working well. I've used it when away on the bikes or on the trails, mostly for making tea tho 😉 so it's not had a hard life.

Hi.. can i combine 10 Speed Deore M6000 RD Long Cage (without goatlink) with 10 Speed Deore 11-46t sprocket and Shimano Tiagra 10 Speed brifter? coz only 11 speed type of Wolftooth Tanpan available in my country.. thank you.
I believe the Deore M6000 long cage (SGS) has a max of 43 tooth cassette.
is Deore M6000 RD gonna compatible with Tiagra brifter if i use Wolftooth Tanpan? whats ur opinion about it?
