Shinkendo Nitoken - The Art of 2 Swords
มุมมอง 1.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Here Toshishiro Obata, the founder of Shinkendo, provides an introduction to 2 sword techniques. A single sword is commonly deemed best because it allows the swordsman the ability to swing the sword with the greatest strength possible. However, 2 swords allows the swordsman the ability to block and strike, therefore sacrifices a little strength but gained a little defensive ability. Here Obata ...

Can anyone confirm the difference between kirikaeshi kihon go, and roku at 35:25?
Straight cuts VS diagonal cuts?
Go = straight cuts (shinchokugiri), Roku = diagonal cuts (kesagiri)

très belle démonstration
No one will give you his hand to apply your technique in a fight. That is why I think this fight isn't feasible
The real power of Bullshido! 🤣
I've trained in Aikido on and off for 30 years. He isn't throwing anyone. Uke is just going with the flow
The first bulshido master
People who fougt with him think different !!!
@@h.h.stroosma1582 The problem is that nobody fought with him.
Ueshiba and his students were challenged and always won. He earned the respect of Jigoro Kano when he sent some of his students, such as Kenji Tomiki and Minoru Mochizuki, to test the effectiveness of Aikido.
@@Fernandoariel-lr2ex Do you have any proof of that? Any record of a fight between Ueshiba or one of his students and anybody? And not just some made up stories. Remember this is 20th century stuff, so there is no excuses for lack of evidence.
The master's teaching is beyond the visible realm. Thanks!
Shinkendo Aishinkan 👏👏👏
Great master, my respect for this man, good training with the Master Obata. Thank you for writing the Book "Samurai Aikijutsu" in 1988. I have this book, a masterpiece in the world of martial arts library.
welcome to heaven when you die while applying akidido for self defense.
Aikido is the most powerful of the martial arts. - Hideo Maruyama

Best Shihan , Büyük usta öğrettiklerin için teşekkürler. Doumo arigatou gozaimashita.
As a 2nd Dan in Hapkido, I really do appreciate this video.
Toshishiro Obata is a champion swordsman and developed his own style. He is also an actor famous for playing The Shredder's lieutenant Tatsu in the first two Ninja Turtles movies.
His family's martial arts lineage is from the Takeda clan's Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu if I'm not mistaken. The Obata clan were vassals of the Takeda clan during the medieval period.
I saw him at a demonstration. He’s really good.
yeah. he is really the world, no, the universe champion of bullshido
top bsd bullshitdo...the way of losing
Ok, but now finish your donuts and return on the sofa in front of the TV instead of comment without mind of the things and without knowing more than you living room.
wrong. because you dont know me and maybe you dont know anything. no sofa just sports for me. nothing to know for you.
Whats wrong with doughnuts! The most aiki of deserts, round with an empty hara!

Admiro a Tushichiro Obata.
Top notch recommendation.
Irreale
Motivo? Mera polemica?
Thanks for the video, I must learn it ,because one of the days somebody is going come at me with a sword
Pathetic.....martial arts is so grand to be so limited and reductionist in your worldview and feel the need to have to turn everything into an MMA barbarian bloodbath. You have no idea of what martial arts is.
Don’t laugh, it happened 3 times to me last week!
These would work just as well against a baseball bat or a golf club.
that looks like aikijujutsu to me
AikiBudo/AikiBujitsu. Quite good, isn't it. You're not wrong to say aikijujutsu. It's a technicality regarding the description of the art. Mr Obata was trained in Yoshinkai Aikido which was derived by Shioda Gozo sensei during the AikiBudo period 1930's. Before 1920's it was Daito Ryu Jujutsu, later Daito Ryu AikiBujutsu and Ueshiba ' AikiBujutsu. Much later Daito Ryu formerly adopted Daito Ryu Aiki Jujutsu.
I always felt it was a complete rip off when you'd get a video that included warmups.
lol. they are more than "warm ups" these are "preparotary excercises".
???? .. what ?
Yes,you are right
You obviously don't understand martial arts. The correct footwork is the foundation of everything and is at lesdt 50% of the technique
THANKS!!!!
I don’t understand the arrogance of an empire that thought they could conquer the world. This is useless on the street
where do you teach in uk what times place hours per session and how much do you charge sensi send details thank you
これはこれで合気道だな
Joe Thambu Sensei is a riot. No wonder he does the riot control martial art. I really enjoyed this interview.
Holee SHEEIT!
Thank you for this presentation of Daito - Ryu Aiki Jitsu. I have been informed by some of my Shihan, Sensei and Senpai that Sosai Mas Oyama was certified in this martial art. Osu.
Did Steven Seagal also cross trained in Daito Ryu Aikijujitsu aside from Aikido while he was in Japan during the 70's onwards?
Definately not. I have read his former wife's book - Seagal only studied Aikikai.
Thank you very much for sharing this! I deeply hope that Dayto Ryu will always be practiced and that it will never get lost. As a motivated Shotokan Karateka I admire this sense of body control and perfect technique. Oss!
🙇 Domo arigatou.
Wow! Amazing martial art! I have to say and give respect to the student for taking so many throws and getting taken down so may times!
How wonderful to find this on TH-cam. I lost the VHS. Never got my hands on the book though. It is still available? Regards from Holland.
It is but hard to find
The real Hero is the Uke. 🙏
In self defense situations atemi is a tremendous advantage. It doesn’t necessarily require hard contact, just that you are able to sell it as imminent painful contact. Kuzushi - attacking balance - works much better when credible atemi threats are applied with good distance and timing, along with credible energy. I’ve done a lot of aikido and a little judo. And I ve been in a few self defense situations. Believe me, no matter how quick you are, there is no room to maintain stylistic purity. The thing that will help me the most regardless of style, is what I have instinctively gone to. I’m not claiming to be an expert on street fights and attacks. But it’s not all theoretical either. It is why I studied aiki jitsu use of atemi. You may not ever need atemi but if you do, you’d better be able to bring it. -Matt’s dad
This is gold! Thanks a lot! 😁😈
