Upgrade prices are killing Apple's sales
I just had a motherboard blow up on my Asus gaming laptop. I sent it in and they said that I was at fault because I spilled water inside of my computer. Never sent me any pictures of water damage or proved anything. They then told me to fix my $2400 laptop. I would have to pay $2107. I still haven’t gotten it back. God knows how long they’re gonna have it for until I get this solved.
I'm sorry to hear that man, may I ask when you first had the issue, was it recent? If it was you're not the first person to have these issues and it would suggest ASUS has gone back on their word. You can send the details to Gamers Nexus as he has more "clout" so will hopefully get you a resolution. gamersnexus.net/news-features/confronting-asus-face-face#template
You may also have success with this: gamersnexus.net/gn-extras-news/gamersnexus-warranty-response-kit Also you did not say directly if you did spill water on the laptop or not?
This is a sick piece of information. How does this not have more attention?
Means a lot coming from you bro! Do you have anywhere I can look for tips on improving my story telling?
and not only that when you have a small crack on your iphone mac iPad etc, they will say it is not fixable but if you take it to a repair shop they will fix it so basically apple just wants you to buy another phone
100% then they'll tell you they care about the environment
As Crapple use to make cheap money
I knew it was bad. I just didn’t know it was this bad
How is it that these big companies can get away with acting so dishonorably again and again? Are consumers really just too stupid to notice?
What I've realized, and by now I'm sure you know how I feel about Apple but they're the only brand where I live that I would actually trust for good after sales service on a laptop (with AppleCare). Of course if you're in the US you have FrameWork which I think is great, albeit expensive and matt displays. But for the average person I think many people just don't know until they get stung (see TrustPilot reviews for most crappy companies) and the ones that do know have little choice, since the alternatives are more of the same I hope FrameWork can lower their prices and make it into mainstream, there needs to be a shakeup!
Samsung is doing it too with the s series
I only lasted 4 months with my 15 pro max 😅
Why what happened? Do you mean you got something else instead?
Buy an android apple since Wozniak was removed from the product development decision pipe all it was is an evil locked in money grubbing company. Steve jobs was nothing but a salesman....
I think the next phone I buy will probably be a Sony Xperia, I miss expandable storage and a headphone jack! What do you recommend?
Yep! Sooner or later all publicly traded companies will begin mistreating their employees and selling their customers the worst product or service at the highest price they are willing to tolerate. Success is failure because only _growth_ matters. Line gotta go up, NOW. Eventually even brand loyalists will see it. By then though, the speculators (they are NOT _investors_ ) will have already moved on to ruin the next big thing. Yes, I'm repeating myself, but it just becomes more obvious every day.
It needs repeating, until people associate publicly traded companies with brand they shouldn’t support, only then will this model change
Dude I own a XS and a 14 Pro and is running like new with the last iOS. What features are not included? :))))) Idiot..
I would just go swimming with my Apple Series 7 for a couple of years because it was supposed to be okay for swimming. I don’t do any diving or go deep in the water or anything unusual. My watch completely died and I had to buy a Series 10. I don’t plan to take this one in the pool.
Sorry to hear that man, I understand rubber breaks down overtime but given that users can't even replace the rubber seals themselves I think Apple should offer free replacements for the first 5 years, to do right by their customers!
Do you think the rubber breaks down from exposure to water or does it just eventually break down even if not exposed to water. I’m not clear if it’s a good idea to go swimming with my new Series 10 at the moment. A 2 year life span is too short for me. I took my S7 to the Apple store, but all they told me was that the logic board was dead. They wouldn’t acknowledge anything related to water even though I know that it died after a swim.
I cant wait until the american government gets involved like the EU got involved and sue their azzz
Agreed they need an ass kicking! What's insane to me is that government legislation, which is often thought of as restrictive is driving innovation: first USB-C on iPhone, then in 2027 user replaceable batteries in consumer electronics. Unless actual innovation happens between now and 2027 the greatest (recent) improvements to iPhone were the result of the EU- how crazy is that?
Other than regular software updates availability, Asus Zenfone 10 has very much the same form factor and still carries the 3.5mm Jack. Would love to see that in your hands
If availability is scarce then Samsung S22/23/24 all have 6.1" screen
I agree, but I’m still waiting to see if ASUS fix their warranty problems. After sales support is important to me, I want to know it’s there should I need it! Sony Xperia looks good but like you said for ASUS: support is limited There’s also the FairPhone but no headphone jack on the newer ones
To be fair, who cares about Apple Intelligence AI is just a scam.
This man gets it ^^

Wow, thanks man! If I put timestamps it will help with the watch time you mean?
Okay I just added them in my new video about the 13 Mini, is it working?
@@RichWithTech yess, it does!
And this problem is only going to get worse as energy densities increase. The more you try to cram increasingly energetic oxidiser/reductant combinations into smaller and smaller batteries, the more the battery becomes a WMD.
Absolutely There's a smart way to do this but it isn't 3 ton lithium SUVs!
i ALWAYS SUPECTED THIS, before the talk of 120 hrtz vs 60, all iphones where smooth as butter, the second they introduced a 120 hrtz vs, the iphones that didnt have it was suddenly, laggy and such, camera on day one works like a charm, but then after a few years suudenly it looks worse, they deliberately reduced functionality on previous phones to make the new phone seem faster and better working
what about iphone 13? is it safe?
Unsuccessfully, he had a video about similar stuff last year, and (edit start) he had stick drift, or just wasnt working, and sd card issues but only reported on the stick to see if they would find it(edit end), he was EXTRA thorough with documentation on his device, it was pretty bad to even reject the repair, 10 days into it, after he had, essentially, been hounded to pay it within 4 days or else, on the 5th day, it would be sent back disassembled. He was eventually able to reject the fake repair and get the other stuff fixed that was under warranty, they completely replaced the internals
Great video. These commenters are full cult spec though. There's no brains level just blind church love. It's so weird that the richest company in the world that operates under malice manipulation receives this.
80% charging limit is good but depends how you got there. You need to charge slowly and limit heat. NO wireless charging! Charge to 100% overnight using the old style tiny 5w cube charger and fast charge if needed during the day. Your battery is in fact 10% larger in reality. 100% charge is in fact 90% of the actual capacity. If you use the Mac app coconut battery to analyze your battery health, you will see this to be true. 13pro max with 500+cycles 92% health.
i charge my iPhone from 50% sometimes from 60% to 90% and unplug it before I go to bed. Is that a good thing to do?
@@TheFlareMind It's not amount of charge or the start-end points but the speed at which you charge. Everyone wants blazing fast charging and wireless convenience but that is at the cost of your battery health and longevity. This is cold hard fact and doesn't matter what anyone says. Wireless charging is accomplished via induction... heard of an induction stove?? HEAT!! (they make wireless chargers with cooling fans now.. why? - HEAT!) I've been the guy to charge to 80% only religiously until I realized the "buffer" is built in to the battery itself (about 10%). The key is to charge slowly (to minimize heat) to 100% at night and charge as fast as you need during the day to top up. Everyone in my house uses those tiny 5w apple chargers from 10 years ago to charge overnight. Using those chargers generates ZERO heat and the charge just trickles in. In the end you need to do what works for your lifestyle and don't sweat it. Just charge slowly at night and carry on.
@@wackypit is still true that lithium ion batteries don't like to be empty or full(or 90%), they like to sit at around 50%. That's why you would limit charging in the first place. Like you said, heat is another thing batteries don't like. Using a 5 watt charger or a 15 watt charger is barely gonna make a difference in longevity, if at all. iPhones already charge so slow, the heat is not enough to do noteworthy damage.
@@thisthereal Correct. Lithium batteries don't like to be left full (and unused) and don't like to be LEFT completely empty. Heat is your number one enemy and the wattage of your charger will dictate how much heat will be generated. A good 30W charger will heat the phone up quite a bit which is what you want to avoid as your only way of charging. I only use fast chargers during the day to top up in the house and in the car. Overnight, I use the slowest method available which is the old 5w charger. Yes iphone's don't charge as fast as others but that is a different conversation. OnePlus Warp charging magically keeps the heat of charging in the charging block and doesn't heat up the phone (they were the first to do this). Other brands have two batteries so one battery doesn't heat up so much when pumped with huge wattage. It's all about heat. period. Minimize heat to maximize longevity of the battery. The industry wants to kill your battery since there's no money for them in teaching you how to make it last for a long time. I have 92% health on a 13 pro max with over 500 cycles. I would likely have more health if I practiced this charging routine since day 1. I lost the most health when I only used fast chargers. The world now drank the KoolAid regarding 80% charge limit and Apple has given them what they want. Slow charging coupled with 80% charge limit would be the absolute best but at some point you have to evaluate the longevity benefit vs the nuisance of not having a full battery. A battery charged to 100% is only 90% full since the battery is 10% larger. You already have a buffer so why sweat it. I charge to 100% without thinking about it anymore. If you have a MAC, use the app coconut battery to see the actual charge level and battery health based on the real capacity of the battery. There is lots of merit with regards to charge limit when it comes to laptops that may be used for a long time while plugged in and sitting at 100%. Here I would absolutely limit the charge to 90% and only take it to 100% when you won't be plugged in. You can use an app called Al Dente to accomplish charge limiting on a MAC. Slow charging laptops is also a good practice for the same reasons and only use fast chargers when on the go or when you have no option. Chances are very strong that these battery habits will allow your battery to last for as long as you want to keep that device without the need to replace it.
I dunno. I use an iPhone 8 as my work phone. It feels old but it still does everything I need it to in a reasonable amount of time and felt right on par with my Pixel 2 XL that came out the same year. I've used android since smartphones became a thing and have never bought an iPhone before so I guess I just don't know what I'm missing.

Talk about a used car! Spent 1900 can$… trade value is $549… not cool. Lost faith in Apple

Apple are basicaly a zombie brand now. They're just riding out on the successes of their past products and that's it.
That summarizes it so well!
2:05 the new normal iPhone always get's the chip of the old iPhone pro has been like this for years now
My daily driver is a 13 pro max and never will I need AI to do chores for me. I have google and i can download 3rd party Ai apps like chat gpt. It is true though that Apple is scamming people to upgrade and I experienced it 1st hand. I enrolled to the beta program with 89% battery health and to my surprise after updating to ios 17 my battery health went down to 79% literally 2% every week. I really don't believe in battery health because I have friends with older iphones and their still at 97 to 100% and they use 3rd party chargers. Apple does what it can to force people to upgrade even lying to customers.
13 Pro / Pro Max is the MVP of current gen iPhones, good taste
Use slow chargers and turn off 5G and background app refresh. You will reduce your battery drain and the need to charge excessively. 13PM 92%, 500+ cycles.

1:59 the real reason is that ip15s have just 6gb of ram and ai requires at least 8. Old M1 Macs do get ai despite having less capable processrs (according to what I heard), and somehow Samsung put many features to its old s23s and 2s, which are rather less capable than ip15s, but all of these devices have at least 8gb of ram, so that's the reason why.
I’m a hardcore Apple fan and I agree with this. Apple could easily allow older iPhones like the 14s and 15s to access Apple Intelligence through the cloud stead of on device, since they don’t have the chip set. How do I know this? Everything Apple Intelligence does can be done with third party apps (ChatGPT, Google and etc) through the cloud.
I wonder if techy people who use Cydia (or equiv) will be able to use Apple AI
Depend how much data that intelligence needs to work on. The data are in your phone afterall.
The sad part some iPhone could have fonction upgrade wich apple keep for the next year iPhone
Running out of (semi) legit reasons for customers to upgrade but line gotta keep going up for the shareholder overlords? No problem, make the whole thing a subscription. Wheee!
Problem is the big ones are 6.9 INCHES. How can you tell me that isn’t A TABLET?
The iPhone has been over-serving me with trivial features for over 10 years now. Meanwhile, my need for private email remains ignored.
My iphone 11 pro max is alive and kicking, using with apple watch and macbook without any problem, the problem is if you want useless feature every year.
A lot of future proofing for AI is about RAM requirements, which is why MANY Android phones are offering 16Gb options on their handsets. Think about it we’ve known image manipulation via say Photoshop has always benefited from lots of RAM - AI is the same.
Ironically, the new iPhones launched yesterday still have 8 GB of ram. I think this video is right. Apple is disrespecting hardcore customers like me. I have everything Apple and for the first time ever I feel like they’re not worth anymore.
@tiagomaqz I'm sure it's not far off Apple offering the chance to purchase phones not only with variable storage but variable RAM. I still have an S22 ultra (Exynos) that has the full suite of Samsung and Android AI and runs them all brilliantly despite being 2 years old while Apple cut the throats of non pro iPhone 15 users after 12 months and they are still some way from matching Android based AI.
Like having some of the vital AI features for the regular 15s is good enough. Like if u want Apple AI+ and only pros have it then fine. Better to have some than none
Meanwhile in reality all my iPhones from the last 8 years still work and still feel just as fast as always and all have battery capacity’s greater than 80%
Great video, but I'm afraid that nothing will change the mind of all the stupid Apple's lemmings.
What you're saying doesn't surprise me. I recently had to send my AirPod Pros with the USBC port in for repair and they were only 8 months old. I also traded in my iPhone 14 in for a Google pixel 8 Pro and the battery lasts a whole lot longer. Remember when Apple got in trouble years ago and got fined over the cheap batteries they were putting in their iPhones? I believe they do it to all their products. My AirPod Pros would the USB-C port were only 8 months old before they started going bad. I'm also gun shy when it comes to Samsung. When Samsung stops making a product they stop supporting it. And I don't want that either.
30%! Seriously? I would expect such a fee to be closer to 3%. wow.
I swim in all 3 of my Apple Watches, a SE, series 5 and ultra 2 and so far I haven’t had any issues, it’s common knowledge NOTHING is water proof, only water resistant, this has been a issue in ALL advertising for well over 30 years. Apple or any other manufacturer has no idea if you are going to expose you watch to extreme heat or cold and kill the gaskets, while I’m not simping for Apple and as a person who paid $800 for their watch if they fuck it up they absolutely should replace it your best product is only as good as the dumbest user and that is the reality we live in.
I hope by "dumbest user" you don't mean the one using it in the way they advertise?
@@RichWithTech Sadly we don’t live in a TV commercial, we have to use our common sense to bridge the gap, like the fact soaps degrades rubber seals as well as temperature and time. When I was a kid back in like 1994 I really wanted this watch, it was some kind of Casio I don’t remember now, I spent the whole summer cutting lawns to get the cash, I wanted it because not only did it look cool it was water proof to like 100 meters or some shit, less then a year later I killed that watch taking a shower in it so I took it apart and the rubber seal was fried because I did EVERYTHING in that watch, the rubber was crispy like a potato chip. After researching the issue I came to understand that things like heat and chemicals degrade rubber both of which I exposed the watch to on a daily basis. This is where common sense comes into play, every professional on the planet that uses anything with rubber seals is well aware of the fact they need to be maintained, if you are not that’s not apples problem to be honest. Like I said, no matter how good you build something someone dumb enough will find a way to fuck it up, that’s life.

I had a Microsoft phone. I miss the hell out of that thing, but you're 1000% correct, their app store only had a handful of apps. Just before they pulled the plug on the whole thing, they were trying to pay developers to create apps for the store. Phone app stores are nothing without 3rd party developers/apps. It's a shame that 3rd party developers aren't able to come together to demand a change in the way that Apple taxes them.
That's a really cool idea, like a union of sorts. These Devs are carrying Ecosystems so they really ought to get more 70%!
