Stamhout verzagen en kloven tot haardhout.

That must be some hard dirt to need a tractor that big just to pull a 16’ cultivator.
We did not use all the time full throttle, but a full bucket could stop the tractor.
CATGVO Thanks for responding, you’ve gained a new fan! This may be a stupid question but I’ve only just begun learning about farming - is that cultivator a chisel plow, a harrow, or something completely different? Also, how deep are you plowing? The Baldwins remind me a lot of the Big Bud tractors that were made here in the US in the ‘80s & ‘90s. If you’ve never heard of them, they were originally designed for pulling big, deep chisel plows in Northern California’s San Joaquin Valley. Their one-of-a-kind 747 was the world’s largest farm tractor at the time, and may still be til this day. It was capable of pulling an 80’ cultivator at speeds of nearly 8 mph! It sits in a museum these days. I was a roughneck in the oilfield until the recent layoffs all over the oil patch due to corona and Russia and the Saudis screwing over the US shale market. I’m interested in possibly trying my hand as a farm laborer. I know you’re in Australia but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@@chrisw.4318 Well it is not any kind of tillage, with this bucket you can scrape soil from a high spot and dump it on a low spot. All by using a laser levelling device. Mainly to get a slight pitch on the field, for irrigation. The Baldwin looks a lot like the Big Bud's it's just like a Australian cousin. I know the Big Bud's, Welker Farms use them too on their channel. I am no longer in Australia, back in The Netherlands (see also the recent videos), Australia was just a nice work and holiday year.

I’m pretty sure that is a KT/KTA 1150 Cummins engine in front of an Allison auto transmission. We had a Steiger Tiger 3 and a Woods-Copeland with the same setup

Why you plant like this? Too much space between rows? I am from Greece we plant 95cm row to row!
It is dryland cotton, not enough moisture in the soil. Irrigated land has 2 more rows between the rows that are harvested, like the harvester is set-up.

Don't know something about the yield, back then I was only working on the module maker. Just work and holiday. I live in Groningen, The Netherlands.

Don't know about a Paul Quinn, only worked a few weeks here. After the first week we got bad weather and couldn't work again, too wet.

Amazing bit of gear. That harvester and haulouts are approaching 3 million tonnes of processed cane over their life. Average about 1800 tonnes per 10hr shift which would have to be worlds most productive. What do you think?
