Hi Arsalan, just before DeepSeek was definitely buying a high flying stock as Vistra was up about 35% ytd as of last Monday morning DeepSeek news rocked the markets. So it was already climbing very fast in 2025. I think the DeepSeek announcement and this entire week / month will be insignificant when you look at a chart of 2025 in the future. The fate of energy and nuclear power stocks is somewhat hard to predict - but as you can see from my portfolio I think the chances are slanted in favor of constant source energy producers in the future (as opposed to solar or wind). The regulatory hurdles that may slow down new nuclear reactors are one possible headwind. Nothing is certain in life (or investing) and these are just my opinions. Yeah you said it, they definitely did not “stay down!!” I’m happy to hear your tech stocks pushed you to all-time highs. I hadn’t looked at Reddit and Crowdstrike yet…nor PLTR. Yeah, I noticed that VRT fell a lot yesterday but didn’t see if it bounced back. That’s amazing, you are the only person I’ve seen who said that Deepseek might be a fake / impossible to do so cheaply. I was TOTALLY surprised as I think most of us were by the enormous market reaction. If that was “fake news” it will be the stock market story of the decade for sure!!

@ no sir, but I do a lot of research especially in the data center supply chain. It’s highly volatile but the growth is very strong, a good entry point is key

I have been following this company since 2021 and while I applaud their efforts to convert wood and agricultural waste into bottle caps and other packaging materials, I think it’s still a very speculative venture. They have spent a lot of time and money getting their manufacturing facilities operational, and there is no way to know this company will be profitable. As such, it might suit a trader or speculator who wants to “bet” on clean / green energy, but for my investing it’s too fraught with risk and uncertainty. These are my opinions and of course, I could be very wrong about origin materials. Please do your own due diligence. This is not financial advice.

Ah I see. I am familiar with what they are doing and I think that recycled bottle caps made from PET is their main focus. @ I prefer prices higher since when prices drop… people in my comments are freaking out and i get annoyed because im constantly saying “ long-term investing “ and ive made videos on how to buy in a recession or down market haha

Thanks for telling us about that interview. It was just 2 days ago, and I hadn’t seen it until right now. I am not trying to time the market with VITL. I didn’t even know about the avian flu when I bought the stock - I just like the company and love the eggs. I’m going to try their butter next!

Thanks for thinking to ask about that. I will put it in a summary here: semi portfolio closed at a slight loss. these were all my picks but didn’t include NVDA. The semi ETFs like SMH (I think you said you invest in it) and SOXX both own NVDA as the largest holding. If I include my shares in that company then my semi stocks did awesome. But I’m not and my picks in semis did well first half of the year and lost all of their gains by the end of the year. The Animal Donut ETF had a few stocks that did well and one did poorly: TMDX. The others were just “ok” but… I had one great discovery making that ETF and if I find one great stock a year I’m happy. Vistra Energy (VST) was my best stock in 2024 and Constellation Energy (CEG) were my best stocks, period. If it weren’t for experimenting with the Animal Donut ETF I would not have bought them (because they weren’t semis - what I focused on at the start of the year). So, there you go - last year my semis were basically flat, ANDO didn’t do much better except for discovering those two big winners. I’ll do a video update on my 2024 portfolios soon. Thanks :) 🎉🪅💐🐰🍩

Thx for the question! At the end of the year I got stopped out of AXSM in late December. Forgot to remove the trailing stop losses. It sold most of those shares and I sold the rest. Everything else I still hold. All 10 semi stocks + the energy stocks + tmdx.

Last year (2024) my “total portfolio” return was 26.22% and that included all my holdings. My semi stocks generated a -1% return. ANDO 22.19% from last year when I started it until 31 Jan 2025. So overall my stocks are within a few percent of the S&P 500. I have had a few excellent stocks - VST and CEG and a few others I will discuss later this year. Thanks for appreciating my take on this company. I kept buying last year and I have not sold a single share. I am also cautiously optimistic: I am aware I could be wrong, but what I have learned suggests this company has a niche that few others occupy. This is not financial advice. I'm just letting you know my own experience with this stock. One viewer told me I should set up a Patreon. I have no experience with Patreon. If I set one up, is there anything you would like to see -- that I can share with you and others -- that would make it worth it? Thanks for any ideas you have!

@ I’d certainly be interested in your patreon because I appreciate your content and you’re doing a fantastic job. I particularly enjoy the fact that you discuss businesses that are not meme stocks, or companies that the finance bros are discussing. Aside from Patreon, there is another way of doing it: setting up a Discord channel and members can pay a monthly subscription fee. With regard to Aspen, I noticed that GM is a big customer. Do you think the business is diversified enough to find other revenue streams if GM decides to move away from Pyrothin thermal barriers supplied by Aspen?

I’m thankful there are people out there like you who like investing in some little known businesses other than the mag 7 or whatever the finance bros are pumping. To succeed, investors need to see things differently from everyone else, otherwise they have no advantage over the crowd b/c prices get automatically adjusted b/c everyone is following NVDA, TSLA, META, AAPL, etc. You need a variant perception and you can only get that by exposing yourself to different reading, newspapers, videos, books, and ideas about niche or interesting companies not followed by the masses before they’re popular and well known by other people. I’m planning on setting up Patreon right now. I’ll keep you updated on my progress there. As far as Aspen goes, it’s a good question about their dependence on GM. As far as I know, they are the leader in aerogel-based insulation, and have significantly invested in PyroThin thermal barriers. Yes, GM has been a major customer, providing a $100 million secured loan in late 2022 to support Aspen’s manufacturing expansion.  As you note, Aspen’s heavy reliance on GM poses a vulnerability. If GM reduces its demand for PyroThin -potentially due to shifts in battery technology or EV production strategies-Aspen’s sales and growth prospects could be hit hard.  To mitigate this risk, Aspen has been diversifying its customer base. In June 2024, the company got a PyroThin design award from a large European battery manufacturer to supply a next-generation vehicle platform for a major European luxury sports car brand (details not released as far as I know). This marked Aspen’s sixth original equipment manufacturer (OEM) award, so I think this suggests they’re making progress in reducing dependence on a single customer.  Also, Aspen received a conditional commitment from the U.S. Department of Energy for a $670.6 million loan to build a new manufacturing facility. This funding is expected to beef up production capacity and support the growing demand for aerogel thermal barriers in both the U.S. and Europe.  While a reduction in demand from GM could pose challenges for Aspen Aerogels, the company’s efforts to diversify its customer base and expand manufacturing capabilities aim to mitigate this vulnerability. Of course they might not be able to successfully broaden their customer base and if GM changed their business plans or exited EVs or something drastic, it would probably hit Aspen Aerogels hard. I became obsessed with the markets and I have come to realise that in order to succeed you must have an edge of the market. So yes, I tend not to follow the crowd and I am heavily invested in researching the smaller high growth companies catering to a niche in a high growth market. @ no I was with MR fired up wealth and he was a great teacher but there was a award system in there that people voted for POW and a few of the vip members messaged me And told me it was rigged and they didn’t think the guy who won that years MVP shouldn’t have.
