Meet Dr. John Worley - JCMG Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine
Dr. John R. Worley is Jefferson City Medical Group’s premier spine surgery specialist and has dedicated his career to providing comprehensive spine care and surgery to his patients. He has a special interest in motion preserving (non-fusion), minimally invasive, scoliosis, and revision surgeries.
“Spine-related pain is one of the most common reasons for disability and decreased quality of life in the world,” Dr. Worley notes. “My goal as a spine surgeon is to provide the best evidence-based and patient-centered care, whether that is surgical or non-surgical management, to help get my patients back to work and to the activities they enjoy.”
Dr. Worley treats a variety of spine conditions, such as neck and back pain, herniated discs, pinched nerves, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spinal deformity (scoliosis), and spinal fractures. He also provides general orthopaedic trauma care.
As a part of JCMG Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Worley provides cutting-edge spine surgeries. Common surgeries include minimally invasive decompression and discectomy, motion-preserving cervical disc replacement, anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), lumbar spine fusion through the anterior (ALIF), lateral (XLIF) and posterior (TLIF) approaches, cervical laminoplasty, and more. This is fantastic news! After a 42 hour long labor Dr. Faurot instructed me to start pushing on my back. I protested this because being on my back was so uncomfortable during pregnancy. She didn’t press me to do anything I didn’t want to do, but she was also firm in her voice that this was the best option at this particular time. My baby was out in 20 minutes after that! She’s a great problem solver! I am so grateful she was part of my delivery team. She will be a huge asset to the Jefferson City community!

Its been 10 weeks since my TKR and my range is perfect but I still have pain, and numbness right from my knee down my shin. I get a burning sensation in my knee also, I know the nerves are trying to connect again but it hurts. I do a lot of stretching and I think I don't have a problem with scar tissue. Is this normal, I'm 72 yrs old ,I should have had this done 10 yrs ago. Thanks.

@@isabelandujar9736 Great, it really does help alot. I needed my other knee done but I don't think it's as bad as the right one was. I get cortisone shots in my left knee and it helps somewhat. I have to tell you that Rehabilitation is a must, first at home with a Rehab Technician and then go to a Rehabilitation center. It's very painful for a few months but you don't want scar tissue forming if you don't do the exercise. If not done you will need another operation and that would be awful. Do exactly what the Doctor says and you will be fine, I can walk alot better now ,Blessings to you.
