    Supposedly i ovulated due to this app last month (28 day cycle). Cycles run aboit 27-29 days each. Last month was 28 days and i felt a cramp arount the time i was supposed to ovulate . Which i thought was 16 days ago. But i got cramps 4 days after ovulation day . Off and on cramps like i was gonna get my period for days. I got sore nipples and breast 10 days before " period date" . I tested -negative on day 8, 11 and 13 past ovulation day and i got no each time . App days my period is 2 days late and still have tender breasts and nipples and feels like they are burning. Im going to test monday because if i ovulation on friday it will put me 3 days past ovulation . Yesterday i felt tiny prickling pain . But period was due 2 days ago. My period was may 10. Lasted 7 days. Supposedly app say ovulation was Thursday the 23rd and expected period june 6th. Cramps started may 27 th. Breast n nipple tenderness started 29th( Still going )

    'Struggling to conceive' is a massive problem and becoming more massive. Often not spoken about. Often. Often kept as a personal battle. Often tearing couples apart. Traditional Fertility Clinics stop short of providing holistic care which should take into account the emotions experienced by the struggling 'clients' as well as exploring other reasons for failure to conceive outside of the pure medical tests which often dont find the answer and leave the 'client' with more questions than answers and nobody to lean on for support. This is an amazing resource and one that is destined to help significant amounts of people...

    Hi Kelly. My biggest struggle is breakfast. I usually just have fruit like bananas or apples the whole morning as I am not a cereal type person, in fact I really struggle eating early in the morning. I start work at 7h30am in the mornings and having to make a breakfast at home to take to work is just not practical for me at all. Is eating fruits for breakfast okay? and does it matter how much quantity of fruit I eat if it is eaten on an empty stomach? I so often hear that people stay away from fruit for weight loss...I however do not really believe that the sugar found in fresh fruits are unhealthy at all. Please advise

    You touched on Cholesterol. You did not explain HOW the plaque end up clogging the artery. Its not the presence of cholesterol that causes plaque to build up. That needs to be explained properly as you pointed out specifically that it was something really important to get right! This video is a year old so what is your take on new findings that saturated fat and cholesterol does not increase risk of CVD?

  • @andrekruger9804
    @andrekruger9804 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you Kelly for actually debating on the facts. I enjoyed your presentation very much. But this is where mainstream dietery advice confuses me. Statement: Processed food is bad for you. We all agree. The slide at 20:38 shows it has been unproven that saturated fat does not cause heart disease. But neither has it been proven that saturated fat does cause heart disease. Being an ancient unprocessed fat the onus rest on your side of the coin to prove that it actually does cause heart disease. Later on the slide at 26:10 you cite the mediteranean diet as prove that replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat will decrese heart disease risk. The major mediteranean diet study was the Lyon Diet Heart Study. They actually compared the mediteranean diet to a low fat AHA diet. All it proves is that a diet higher in fat is healthier for you. Another question I may ask is: "If processed food and saturated fat is bad for you, which is better, butter or margirine?" With banting everything is clear. There is much less confusion.

    • @kellylynchfertility
      @kellylynchfertility 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andre Thanks for your comment. There are multiple studies proving that saturated fat intake is linked to heart disease risk. There are also multiple studies proving that by replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fat, ones heart disease risk reduces - the mediterranean diet for example. In terms of your question - butter vs margarine. I believe in eating whole foods, so margarine is man-made and definitely NOT whole - so definitely not margarine. I would recommend butter in moderation - which means not everyday. And if the client had other risk factors for heart disease - like increase waist circumference, high cholesterol, smoked etc - I would advise not having butter at all. It does not contain any nutrients that we can't get from other sources. i never recommend cooking with butter. One should cook with olive oil. A dieticians approach is not unclear - it is just individualised, it is never going to be a one size fits all approach like Banting has become. That is perhaps why you find it confusing. We are all different and hence dietary needs vary.

    • @andrekruger9804
      @andrekruger9804 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kelly Lynch - Dietician Thank you for the fast reply Kelly. I think the key word in your first sentence is "linked". We both agree that association is not causation. There is also numerous studies showing the oppisite. The most recent being the study by the National Institutes of Health and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. It showed people who avoid carbohydrates and eat more fat, even saturated fat, lose more body fat and have fewer cardiovascular risks than people who follow the low-fat diet. We can go back and forth the whole day. I don't want to. The point I am trying to make is this: If you are against processed food and promoting whole food then surely saturated fat which is an epitome of unprocessed must at least be given the benefit of any doubt until proven otherwise.

    • @kellylynchfertility
      @kellylynchfertility 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has been proven but until they say those studies were wrong then I will change my tune with saturated fats. As a whole food promoter - I recommend rather eating unsaturated fats like nuts avos seeds etc - as there is proof these promote health. Not to say all saturated fats are forbidden - but they should be eaten in strict moderation

  • @o2johnnybravo
    @o2johnnybravo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why are you making such a big deal of 'different' carbohydrates? Anything that breaks down into glucose does so quickly. Cooked carrots and bread quicker so than raw glucose.

    • @kellylynchfertility
      @kellylynchfertility 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a massive difference between the quality of the carbohydrate in sweet potato for example versus that in white bread - they definitely react differently in the body. The GI is a proven fact - some foods take longer to breakdown than others, and hence cause different insulin reactions - no debating this.

    • @o2johnnybravo
      @o2johnnybravo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes as I pointed out, but these so-called complex carbs break down into glucose quickly, and in any event, x amount of insulin will be released to deal with y amount of glucose- ask a diabetic- irrespective of GI.

  • @o2johnnybravo
    @o2johnnybravo 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Paleo restricts calories?? What?? You haven't researched it at all. The calorie theory is a nonsense in any event, and falls down after 5 minutes thought.

    • @kellylynchfertility
      @kellylynchfertility 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paleo restricts calories indirectly as one is more aware of what one is eating and hence eats less. Paleo promotes eating more whole foods which have lower caloric levels than processed foods - so indirectly you eat less calories.
