Weaving an Obelisk Plant support.

this was my first attempt at weaving one.. it had its moments of frustration. I wasn't going to post this video but it's a step in the learning process not necessarily knowing everything about what I'm doing. if youre looking for that video there's definitely alot more competent makers out there who did an excellent job, this video may not be your cup of tea. however if youve been following on ...

Noice
Yeah not a bad day
Impressive, Nate👀🧐‼️Git Dat Goooold Brother 🦾🇺🇸😎👍
Yeah man!!!!!! I've been getting a solid gram from this spot per trip. Hoping I nearly doubled it this go around
Yeah man!!!!!! I've been getting a solid gram from this spot per trip. Hoping I nearly doubled it this go around
That's the thing about TH-cam, Bro' 🧐😆‼️🦾🇺🇸😎
Yeah funny thing is though they left the pay layer alone 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Youre usually not the first one to have done something.
Nope definitely not. The question for me is usually did they give up
Looking good indeed fam. Great job all around. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Yes sir brother!!!! It'll be another Grammer for today for sure... Bigfoot out!
That motor be like just kill me
No!!!!! You must live motor!!!!!!!
Shoutout from Scotland bigfoot. Whats the most youve collected in a day ?
This dig gave me a solid gram within five and a half hours. That seems to be standard for me. It all depends on the location and how good the pay dirt is. This wasn't the best spot but this dig suggested it's not as bad as I thought
@@thebodgingbigfoot4014 it all adds up an ounce every 28 days would be magic, I've always thought I'd love to go do it around Scotland, travel the world doing it. Thanks for your reply.
I need one like this down here in Africa
Yeah this would definitely make short work and better recovery there. I wish I had to get one there
I co znalazł Tylko pomieszał na sicie ?
In a gold pan yes
Долго вам ещё мыть😂
To je nesmysl chlape 🤦
Hahahaha to some maybe sir. If it works it works and for me it works
One helluva "High -Banker"👀‼️🦾🇺🇸😎👍
Yes sir!!!!!!! We pulled a solid gram from this spot in five and half hours. She stays hungry
Very cool
No
Yes indeed! I've got trolls!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!+
😂😂😂
Je to divný
But it works
Way to f the river with silt do it on the bank
It's not discharged directly into the water but the catch pan. Law here in va allows it. If it was another body of water yes absolutely but here unfortunately has no wildlife in it
Awesome 🤪🦾🇺🇸All you need is a metal detector to check those tailings 🧐👍‼️
Yes sir! I pulled it out of my storage unit lol. Next time I'm heading to my honey hole and I'm gonna work it with the system and the detector
Me
You Ain't missing much Widdat set-up, for sure, Bro' 🧐‼️🦾🇺🇸👍😎
Nope. I didn't see a spec in the tailings at all. If anything got through it was way to fine or floaty to tell. We took pans for the dirt that the machine washed out into the big tailings. Not much in that so the machine should have caught near 100 percent of the visible gold
That spot I've been working the flood gold at has pissed me off. I mean business now
Nice awesome stuff thanks for sharing heavy pans brother
Thank you for watching!!!!!
Ain't no Gold in Utah, Bra👀😆👌🤣🤣🤣
Nice job, Nate🦾‼️👍🇺🇸
Thank you!!!! This location is one where I really cut my teeth on. This pile was lucky find. Now that I've got a decent scale I'll be able to judge my spots better. Before it never mattered but it's weird now that finding it is fairly simple how the game has grown to include the weight
I would Still Love to get you and Couz into URE sometime 🦾👍😎
Dude. I haven't seen little foot for so long now. I'm thinking I may have offended him I'm not sure though. I would to hang out with ya though. I just got my rednecked washplant up and running for all that fine gold. The gold cube is the center of it. Got a really cool highbanking topper for it from the crisson gold mine. Next Saturday I'm heading down for the day to set it up and see how it performs
Good to see you "Out There Diggin Bro'"🤪‼️😎
Thank you!!!!!
You can load that Sluice up, even in low flow, and it will Still catch that Shiny stuff🧐👀👍
Dude this little sluice is seriously legit. I've been playing with it to figure the flows out and you're absolutely 💯 right on. It behaves well in alot for different conditions. I love how that the surges doesn't hurt its retention
You, are an "Earth-Warden"🧐🤔‼️👌
Lol I'm a bigfoot!!!!! Essentially the same thing. Bigfoot is in native Story telling a care taker of the woods and a guardian.
RPE for the win!!!!!
RPE is one of the finest out there
Get that Gold!!! VA, for THE WIN................
Yeah man!!!!!
Let's GO !!! GS Prospecting known's all about it!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great job getting that Au fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Always brother! There's no quits in this dog. I may slow down but I'm always gonna be chasing
cool video man!! love this stuff
Thank you!!!!! I'm hoping to do alot more prospecting this year. I can't wait till I find a great score hahahaha
Hey Nathan! did you get your fill of haggis and meeps?
I did not unfortunately!
That's a brilliant idea using the stool as a weaving support. Post your mystery basket plant once it leafs out and I'm sure we can figure out who it really is.
I Absolutely will! Any help is greatly appreciated with it! Thank you!!!!
Hey Nathan! Looks like you built one of them relaxation contraptions. Just need to get some iced tea with a lemon in it and show us how it works!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Madison my friend that there should've been the plan 🤣🤣🤣 I wish I had thought about that hahahaha
Thanks, for sharing this! I just ❤ the use of the pruning shears in the beginning. Just snip it off with no hesitation 😁
🤣 absolutely! There was no need to keep or try to weave such a small lenght
Awesome stockpile of willow! That's probably something other than Acacia based on your location. There's only one record of wild Acacia in Virginia dating back to the 60s in Newport News. It escaped from an import of mining ore, probably from somewhere like Arizona or Mexico.
Most possibly. I'm still researching what that species is. Definitely made an oops daisy on wood id for sure
@@thebodgingbigfoot4014 Acacia could also just be a regional name for something known by a different name other places. In some places bristly locust (Robinia hispida) is called "rose acacia" for example
@@Arboreal_Fungi that my friend is very true
It's scary knowing ppl have fake plants
Yes indeed it is! Its even scarier to know that many people keep toxic plants around.
Some of fhem will also happily eat poisonous plants like lillies, so pleae dont bring in toxic plants and think your cat will 'know better'.
I can understand your logic. If wild animals however did not know better then there would be none left. Willow is medicinal for both animals aswell as humans.
I keep my cats inside. Now I live in an apt do they can go out on the balcony. I not only buy two different brands of indoor food I grow grass for them. Don’t have hairball problems.
Yeah. Obi is a special one. She's got a lot of food allergies. So finding food is tricky. Though I'm happy that she too doesn't have a hairball problem. She's been a good member of the family.
Nice, I've been experimenting with something similar using wild harvested withes, but processing it into "skeined willow" with a 3-way cleave I carved from persimmon wood. Hope to see more from you!
That sir sounds very very interesting!!!! Definitely gonna be seeing a little bit more of me. I'm going to be doing a series on this subject. From harvesting to making final products.
Hey Nathan! If it were easy, everyone would do it! LOL
Absolute truth!!!!!!
Used too make years ago want too start again lost art no one does it much anymore Taney County Mo
No. We're a dying breed. With other ways to make baskets and other materials readily available whiteoak basketry may be on its way out sadly enough. One of the reasons I made this video
Ever tried possum-haw viburnum or withe-rod viburnum for the same purpose? I can often find these of better artisan quality than wild willow (usually black willow where I am). Possum-haw is also called "Shawnee-haw" in some parts of the Appalachian mountains. The willow-style baskets of Nova Scotia are usually made from withe-rod, pronounced "with rod" but derived from the same word as "withy" as in withies for making baskets. Thanks
youre welcome!!!! these are red willow and some black willow. i used to goof around with them and other plants for baskets. i just never took the time to be serious about it until now
Happy Thanksgiving
Of course, you Could always Get "Buried down Back"😆🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You don't need it to "wipe", Bro', But, it can be useful,to start a fire, Or, to cauterize a wound🤔‼️
not to me. using paper to cauterize a wound would hurt it more than help it. especially when theres so many wonderful plants that are meant for it. mankind truly doesnt need much to live if they know what nature has to offer you know.
I've carved a very similar spoon from mountain laurel, aka "spoon-wood" or Kalmia latifolia (the toxins are in the leaves and bark; the wood is safe). I usually carve the crank out for spoons, but this mountain laurel had the perfect crank already in the grain. The wood has beautiful ray flecks, a little bit like white oak. I enjoy learning from how others are carving so thanks again!
you are most welcome!!!!! mountain laurel is absolutely amazing!!!!
Maybe Noah made a wooden spoon and bowl before he built the ark in Kentucky. One thing for sure, I want to learn how to do that!!
🤣🤣🤣 it is highly possible they did. its definitely a great skill to know!
I really enjoyed the longer style of video. Gives me something more uplifting than the news for the background while I putz around in the garage.
awesome!!!!! i enjoyed going live. im gonna do this more for sure
Awesome carving! It would be interesting to learn more about the history of this style of carving in the Valley
with all the positive feedback. ill be doing this more!
looks like a nifty little tool. Great job!!!
its a very nifty tool! its gonna carve thousands of spoons before its life is over.
