At 1:15, the smaller man at the front with the light coloured cardigan on is Oliver Potts, and the man to the far right is Willie Grieve. They were both barmen in the Dolphin.

Thank you 😊 an evocative compilation. My Mum lived ‘upstairs’ in the Volunteer Arms with her parents, brother and extended family when she was a young girl during WWII 😊 It’s lovely to see history brought to life 😊

I see Basher Flasher Dickson mug shot in the Blackbull clip, he is the biggest waster to walk the streets of Dunbar,never sober,if he was sober that meant he was skint looking for somebody to buy him drink,a person to be avioded at all cost,financially and socially, all that he was good for was threatening old women and the handicaped who could not defend themselves sycologiclly or fisaclly, 💷💷💷🔨👹🗡🍺🍺if I was the owner of any pub like the Black Bull in the High street I would bar him as some very serious people want to have a serious word in his ear, he will only bring trouble to your doorstep which you can and will be able to aviod by barring him permanently, the same goes for the rest of the pubs in the town,its only a matter of time⌛⏳💥😤😤 his days are numbered📆

My G-Gpa ran a drapery shop next to the Black Bull (now the 1650 Coffee Shop) before migrating to Australia in 1861. The Bull was probably his watering hole. In Australia he owned a brewery for a while.

Many thanks Sandy for creating this super tribute to my dad and the Fisher Lassie's time fishing out of Dunbar harbour. A big thank you to Andy for penning the fantastic lyrics to Fareweel Fisher Lassie, and to the musicians who performed it. I spent many happy hours with my dad on the Fisher Lassie as a boy and I really appreciate the sentiment and effort made by everyone involved in putting this tribute together. The film really brings home the feeling of it being 'the end of an era'. As one of the crew of Apollo 13 said when they finally separated from Aquarius, the lunar landing module they had used as a lifeboat after they were forced to abandon their mission to land on the moon, "She sure was a good ship!"

Back in the days when you could afford to buy a pint, now you need to take out a bank loan , was at the Waterside Bistro in Haddington a few weeks ago and it cost me and my wife £100 just for a few drinks, could not believe how expensive it has become, especially when you can buy 10 bottles of beer for £10 in the supermarket. People should stop going into the pubs and maybe they will put their extortionate prices down.

Dolphins no even a pub anymore

Thanks for publishing this Sandy. The Dolphin on New Year’s Day was special, especially with Rodger playing the clarinet and pound coins being thrown at Davie Coburn to get him to stop playing the accordion. Special times and it was lovely seeing my late wife Charlotte being one of the bands groupies!

Excellent upload. My dad is in this video. I'm pretty sure he had me in here for Hibs 1991 league Cup finial.
