DIY Canam Maverick X3 Blow off valve install on my 2020 X3 Turbo RR. An alternative way to spending 100s on a full charge tube and essentially works exactly the same. I used the cheap BOV supplied with the kit with success, then decided to change it out for a reputable brand as it was the only potential weak link. Do what you will with this information. TH-cam has been trying to make me an aero expert for the last three days, so I very well might be wrong... But isn't it better to funnel the air to the downside of the car? you contribute to uplift or downlift forces depending on where you put the air, and the drag is going to be less because the downside of the car is a shorter (straight) path.

    • @DIYEverythingracing
      @DIYEverythingracing ปีที่แล้ว

      You would then have the effect of disrupting airflow under the car. Assuming you did have a flat bottom on the car, funneling air into the low pressure under the car that's creating the downforce, you would completely upset the airflow and negate the gains. I can't think of many instances you would funnel air to under the car. But aero is a dark art without wind tunnels and CFD. My testing was based on data on the race track after a tonne of research like you're doing!

    Which model racetech? I wanted race tech in mine but the halo was way too wide for my CRX, this one looks WAY more narrow on the halo. I ended up with an OMP HRE EVO seat and it clears my cage well enough

    • @Raptorlifts
      @Raptorlifts ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd believe that. It was a Racetech RT4100WTHR. It only just cleared everything by millimetres. I had custom mounts basically that had it sitting on the floor and in as far as it would go.
