Adventure Rider Sweden S1E11 How to install auxiliary Fusebox
In this episode I install an auxiliary fuse box on the Rade Garage Rally Tower to be able to connect multiple powered products on the bike and be able to use the ignition to control power on/off for those products. This also acts as a fail safe so I don't accidentally discharge the battery completely over night. The video will show you how to install it they way I did it on my Husqvarna 701 Enduro and also shows you the products I used. This operation was done as part of my preparations for riding the Full TET Sweden in the Summer of 2022.

    Thanks for this which was a great help and makes me wonder about a 690 I have in the US. The filler cap has to be removed to lock the steering. I can only assume the wrong kit was supplied. The other thing is that the fuel from the auxiliary tank is siphoned to the rear via a connection to the rear Vanasche filler. It works but it’s odd…….. However it gives a massive range boost over what is a very small tank for a “travel” bike to use KTM/Husqvarna parlance.

    I’ve just done this mod and found that there is a bit extra power now although I have a wings exhaust and fuel dongle fitted. The engine revs quicker and is a lot smoother. I used the vacuum/ siphon method utilising a 3/16ths (4.8mm) fuel hose 1 meter long and drilled out the overflow to 3mm wide with a vanasche filler cap. I didn’t drill the barb. It works very well. The hoses would be better pre cut from rage garage for the air filter. The sas connection is a bugger to get on I used a 1/2in extension bar from a socket set and heated it to expand the hose so it would fit on the sas connection.

      Hello! Thank you for interacting and I wish all the best with the new bike! I am happy I could offer some inspiration and hopefully also some help in your project. I have the Carpe Iter controller and I would say it’s ok but not perfect. I have used a Galaxy active tab 3 and a ram mount with charging. The charging stopped working very quickly and after that it just messed up the screen orientation in the topo app I am using for the navigation. I solved that by taping over the pogo (charging) pins in the ram mount and dremeled a cutout to enable regular usb charging. This worked well. I try to read and answer all ”sensible” comments so don’t hesitate to ask more questions if needed! Good luck! ::Carl

    Resting plastic on to metal isn't a good idea,there should be some sort of rubber damper on the frame and that bracket to the rear of tank to stop the tank vibrating on the metal as it will eventually start wearing into the plastic fuel tank over a long period of offroad riding and engine/frame vibrations .

      Hello! I am using RAM-HOL-SAM60PU from Ram Mount together with a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3. I have also ordered a Carpe Iter controller to be able to control the tablet from the handle bar. So far I am happy with it, but I have heard some worrying rumours lately that the built-in charging can’t handle water very well. I might try to turn the whole setup upside-down for the sake of preventing a failure but I have yet to see how that would work in terms of fitment on the bike and looks and so on. The holder from Ram Mount is installed on the tower using the Garmin mount that was provided with the Rade Garage Rally tower.

    Did you put the Samsung tablet on the Garmin bracket?

    • @adventureridersweden5981
      @adventureridersweden5981 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it’s a Ram Mount tablet holder with built-in charging and that holder is attached directly to the garmin bracket supplied with the Rade Garage fairing.

    Nice bike. Not sure if you saw it yet, but Rade just came out with a new air filter and cage for the 690/701 that utilizes the top screw design. Quicker/easier to swap filters.
