Why couldn’t you just tell the viewers how much the room was !! Tossa
Because rates vary, that's why.
You're obviously the tossa with your brainless comment. What would you do if he told you the rate, but then it was different when you book? Tell him he doesn't know what he is talking about? Smack yourself in the face
@haydengrant7358 Maybe your the tossa, with your stupid comment. You would probably be the first to complain if he said the rate and it was different when you book. THINK.

It really depends on what you call 'rich'. For Sydneysiders, being rich would be considered living in Mosman, the Eastern Suburbs or somewhere inner city. making at least 200,000 a year and so on. In comparison to other places in the world, Sydney's middle class could be considered rich in so many standards. Sydneysiders seem to forget most of them own or live in houses, with plenty of space and have good access to public transportation; a very safe city to walk around, very green and so on. They feel like they're not rich because their spending is high. International students seem to be able to survive paying tuiton fees + all other expenses, without Centrelink benefits with 24 hours of work and entry-level jobs. I get it, is much easier to pay $10 for a coffee + avo toast than to take 10 minutes and make yourself some coffee + toast at home, not to mention the money spent on gambling or at pubs. The grass is always greener on the other side, I guess. When you live abroad you will notice how good life in Sydney is.
Thanks for watching & commenting. Of course, different people may have a different idea of rich, especially if they come from another country or culture, but, regardless of your definition, assuming everyone, or even the majority of people, in a particular country are rich, is not a good idea. The reality is, a lot of people in Australia, struggle. I dare say the majority do. And when people have to wait 10 years to get into social housing, you know things are not good. A lot of international students live in illegal accomodation, with 4 or more people crammed into a room that should legally only have 2 people in it, & living off 2 minute noodles. Not all obviously, but plenty do. They may not make as much money in other countries, but their cost of living is also a lot cheaper. It would be interesting to see a comparison between income & expenses in some countries, & I may well do that at some point. What I do know, since i actually live here, is Asutralia, particularly Sydney, is expensive.
You seem to undermine people in Asian. They really know what abject poverty is, they believe the housing commission residents are living the dream life..
Thanks for watching & commenting. The point of the video was to show those people who think everyone in Australia is rich, or that it is some kind of utopia, it isn't. Clearly people living in "suicide towers" were living the dream life, being robbed, harrassed etc Sarcasm, just incase you hadn't picked it up.
Sorry but being poor in Sydney is a choice, no excuses.. alcohol and drugs don’t help..
Thanks for watching & commenting. The point of the video was to show those people who think everyone in Australia is rich, or that it is some kind of utopia, it isn't
@@trentstravels I doubt people think that,, they would only think relatively nothing more… they would come here and make a lot of money from the opportunities provided
Given I have spent a decent amount of time in Thailand, & also the Phillipines, I can tell you they do. All the best. Keep an eye out for my next video!
@@trentstravels thanks, yes they think being on the dole and housing commission is big money
@razadaza9651 They quite possibly don't know about being on the dole & housing commission, but obviously this video will shed some light on that. It's worth noting you don't know the conversations I have had with people I have met in Thailand or the Philippines. Something to consider before commenting. Of course, this video may have ended up being pointless to some extent, as very few, if any, viewers are from Thailand or the Philippines. But it is has got a lot of views, so good to know at least some people are enjoying it. 😉
we live in the best country in the world. lets not turn into dumping grouds like the uk and us🇦🇺🇦🇺.
@@lutontown5923 Thanks for watching & commenting 😊
many of these westerners who lives in asia often bags out where they came from, but forgetting that if it wasnt for where they were born they would not have been able to go to asia and live. Remember that you are still the same person, only getting treated differently because of the dollars and color of your skin none of which you had any credit for
True. But that's not the point of the video. It's simply to let people who think that all westerners are rich, & there are plenty of them, that we are not. A lot of people in Asian countries seem to think Australia is some kind of utopia, & it will be an easy life. I recall a Filipino nurse who appreared on the news. She & her colleagues went on strike to demand better pay. She made the comment "I love my job, but I also need to survive". I was thinking that when she was back in the Philippines, planning to come to Australia, she would not have expected that she would have to strike to get more pay just to survive. Life isn't easy for a lot of people, that's reality unfortunately.
It seems like paradise compared to some places I have seen overseas. It's not perfect living in some parts of Sydney but this video only confirmed to me how lucky we are. I was born in the inner city of Sydney when it was mainly working class blue-collar and cheap to live in. Even though I don't live there anymore I visit quite often. There are suburbs in Sydney that do have their social problems, but I believe we are more fortunate than most large cities on this planet.
@quarkcypher Yeah, we possibly are. But obviously these lower socio-economic areas exist, & there are problems, which would surprise some people. As I mention in the video, there are certain parts of the world where people think everyone in Australia is rich, & the point of the video is to show that is not the case. Only a small percentage of the population is rich. Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment. 😊
Can you afford to buy or even rent in the area you were born?
@@vandelayindustries5814 Nope

@Mothman308 I'm not copying anyone. I haven't seen any other videos showing the Real Sydney. Doesn't mean they don't exist of course, & the more people showing what Australia is like, the better. Thanks for watching 😊
@@trentstravels Well inadvertently you are. He's blown up so large he goes into hoods all over the world now.
@@Mothman308 Good for him. I am just making a video that shows what Sydney is really like, since a lot of people think Australia is some kind of utopia where everyone is rich. This video shows that's not the case. I don't actually do too many videos in Australia, or Sydney, but a mate suggested that people who live overseas or other parts of Australia might appreciate them, & people do. Going back to Thailand very soon, then the Phillipines.
From what I heard, Spanian needs a manager to come up with video ideas 😂 And this guy isn't walking around goin' "Doin doin doin Cuzzz" or talking about being scared or nervous 🤣
Mmm.. my videos are my ideas. It's my channel & I wouldn't want anyone else dictating what goes on it. If going into hoods makes him scared or nervous, maybe he shouldn't. Assuming what you say is correct. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated 😊
I suggest you travel to china and see how advanced, modern and clean it is. It is very futuristic and probably 30 years ahead of australian cities like sydney and melbourne.
Thanks for watching & commenting. Subscribe if you haven't done so already, you never know where I might go in the future 😊
Great Video. Actually asian people , especially in rich asian countries such as china, japan, singapore know that people in australia are not rich. The country is a lifeline and lifeboat for many refugees, asylum seekers and people seeking a better life here than their homeland. whilst many work hard and want to have a good life, the tax system is very punitive and maximum tax at 47% starts to accrue once you earn around $190,000. After tax, there isnt much left to raise a family and meet the expensive cost of living. the tax system do not give people incentive to work hard. Your video is good but most people know your story already, for many years. The rich actually dont want to live in australia, as the tax will erode their weath and australia lacks things to do and infrastructure is very poor compare to modern asian cities like tokyo, singapore, shanghai, chongqing. Asian cities also have more variety of everything, food, cloths, brands, you name it. This is because geographically, australia is too far away from the world, so we are very slow in obtaining technology, and trends.often we lag 6-8 years behind asia. Australia is a great country and seems like heaven for poor people when compare to their sad homeland. To these people, australia is like heaven. .
Thanks for watching & commenting. While some may this already, there are a lot who don't. And yes, the rich do get taxed highly here.
Still looks pretty decent to me. I live in Vancouver, Canada, and there are a lot more squatters and transients living on the streets than I see in this video.
You are correct. But the high cost of living in Sydney, and Australian cities in general, does make it difficult for a lot of people. Sydney is my home town and it is a great place to live if you are financially comfortable. No such thing as a no-go area in Sydney. The title of his video seemed like a joke to me as there is nowhere in Sydney I wouldn't venture.
Thanks for watching & commenting. I haven't been to Vancouver, so can't make a comparison. The main point of the video is to show that not all Australians are rich. There are a lot of people who think we are, & maybe by extension of that, that all Westerners are rich. That's obviously not the case. Only a small percentage of the population is rich, & we do have people who are not well off, living in terrible conditions.
@quarkcypher Thanks for watching & commenting. Not sure why you think the title is a joke, as the video does provide a realistic look at Sydney, & the area around The Three Sisters could certainly be considered "the hood ". But everyone has their own opinion, which they are entitled to. 😊
@@trentstravels I lived in Sydney between 1985 - 1990. I liked it but there was too much crime I thought at the time. I was young, single and handsome back then. I had been approached more than once by grown men propositioning me for an encounter in Hyde Park or elsewhere secluded. I left the country for Canada instead, being European originally. I never had these things happen in Canada, but Canada has changed too, like all the Anglophone countries did the last 15 years.
@westerlywinds5684 Thanks for watching & commenting. Sydney is not the safest place. Obviously it varies to certain degrees depending on the area, but some parts are dangerous. I have travelled a lot as you may have gathered from the name of my channel, & I do prefer other places, & will eventually relocate, which is something I mention in other videos, & to a degree in the next video. 😊
