Legend !!❤
Jeff lorber is the best and the greatest love his music 🎶 🎵 ❤️
Love him. Such a honest and nice person 😊
Good interview with one of the greatest fusionists of all time. Thanks for the upload and keep up the good work!
Like the interview
MLD's BASS playing brings me joy every time I listen (69yo X Bass player -AVERAGE)
I saw him twice in the 80,s! Great show,s!
I've seen Stanley Clarke 3 times live, once with Return To Forever during their reunion tour, once in a duo with Hiromi and with his own band, he is an absolute monster musician and an unbelievable bass player. When you talk about the bass, Stanley Clarke is right near the top as one of the all time greats and a true legend of the instrument. Excellent interview and a great insight into the mind of the one of the best in the world.
He needs to start a super group with JB.
Legend
I have listened to Spyro Gyra’s music since 1978 ( Shaker Song ) I still continue to listen to their music to day. Jay Beckenstein to me is saxophone and Jazz’s at its best!
Probably the most underrated American saxophonist ever. His sound was copied by a million saxophonists. It’s just gorgeous. Pure and resonant as hell. Such a great player. Spyro Gyra has sold boatloads of records, and Jay’s sound is the backbone of the band. He can play like nobody’s business.
Excellent interview!!!
I got to see Stanley with his band in Chattanooga in 2018. He's even better now than he was, and I got the impression that these days, he's working on *legacy* - he's not just leaning on the 18th variation of "School Days," old hits, and sheer flash. He's stretching with the compositions. I'd like to hear more of him just being "the bassist" in a band, like he was on the Animal Logic albums - he was *freaky* good on those songs (he also co-produced). Good interview, too.
Mr Duke you are truly a musical legend. May you rest in eternal peace and thank you for all of the music.
So underrated as one of the early and best innovators of the electric bass movement.
very true!
Professor duke was so deep, love George Duke. Rip..
The guy that inspired me to play the saxophone. Love his sound.
Wow... Uncle James is 98... I'm surprised Tom didn't mention his Uncle Roy Roberts...
Great from You. Thks ! R. Bona🔝
Wonderful interview. Thank You.
That was a very cool interview. Even as a pre-Toto Simon Phillips fan i learned a few new things.
.. Supa Si Phi is Da MAN,.. !.. :o)
Nice interview.
Tell me Jay, how do you get that beautiful sound? It's lyrical and energetic at same time. Is there some routine?
stanley good electric bass player very good upright bass player excellent composer
Outstanding bassist
Obnoxious interviewer. What a tough, embarrassing time to poor Chielli. He needs to answer questions about his albums, not a tarot card reader asking him vague questions about luck and happiness. Awkward moments. Even then it's interesting to listen to this great musician.
Well, I can assure you Michael, that Snarky Puppy is not "underground" anymore, particularly in France ! ;)
I love Stanley Clarke! He made my life so much richer and more magical because of his will and talent!!! He is a living human being! Very rare, more than a legend, more important, human! <3 <3 <3
Dean Brown is one of THE greatest guitar players/humanoids around!
Great interview! Thank you
We have just heard the best of the best. Melvin you lay it down. Heard you with my wife many times with the main man Lee Ritenour. Wish I could play with you one day!
I love this guys bass playing. and his personality.
Bubinga5 to see
1:34-1:42 is a prime example of why I listen to any and everything this guy plays.
Great in-depth conversation and very enlightening!!!
Great horn section!!
Nice one. I'd love to have the Snarky dudes playing my stuff. Groovy riffs ;)
One of my favorites! Written, I believe, by Kevin Dietz?
MEGA, Richard youré awesome, saw you in Hengelo last year ! Why do so few know this ! and why are so fewe see and listen to this ??? Keep up ! Wilfried Markenstein
Yeahh!!!
