I’ve been listening to podcasts, reading, researching for about two weeks so far on Cain n Abel. I was listening to this while I was fixing my hot tub and went in and started taking notes. How is it sooo many have ignored this incredible story of faith and worship!! I’m soo blessed today and thankful for your sermon. It has surely increased my faith! As a satire, is Jonah and the story actual history or not?
Hi Daniel, thanks for your question! Jonah being written in a satirical voice does not speak to it's historicity. To put it another way, you can tell a historical (or fiction story) as a satire. In the case of the book of Jonah, is most commonly accepted as historical. Thanks for joining us online!
Thank you. I appreciate the response. At the risk of sounding over dramatic, it would be a quite devastating blow to our salvation, if Jesus Christ, who had to be perfect to be our Savior, lied when the only event he quoted about himself and his resurrection (Mathew 12:40) wasn't a historicical event but a allegory or pure satire. If Jonah wasn't true, neither can we claim Jesus as our true perfect redeemer because he quoted the events in Jonah as true. See also, Mt12:39-41, Mt 16:4, Lk 11:30-32

I beat myself up so much over not making it to church. Car’s in the shop so I had no way of making it, at least there’s this but it doesn’t replace the fact I’m not there right now
You were missed! Don't beat yourself up though, remember "there's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." ;) You're right, there is no replacement for worshiping together in person, but we're glad you can stay connected through the online service.
