I cannot for the life of me figure out what the point is of pushing a "we don't need" narrative. Why not offer an option? Why not simply let people buy more batteries if they want? I have over 300k on EVs, and I am very clear that I want a 500 mile rated product. I don't care if others don't that's their decision. The bottom line reality is that a "500 mile EV" is really a 300 mile range vehicle. At highway speeds, often in the cold, on long distance trips, I need more range. My Y was getting about 150 in effective range on a cold slushy trip this winter, across upstate NY, where there were long gaps between chargers. Why keep plugging away at arguments that I shouldn't be able to buy a car that gives me better utility?

The y is the perfect car. Just test drove the highland. It's not even close

a van like the vw van makes no sense. It will not help their mission. a commercial van on the other hand , does makes a lot of sense

Don't you see that the ones on the top that are hidden are the same??? Even they have the same shadows. Its just a copy, so that means its the same car but one will be robot and the other will be de Model 2.

It has to be the Model 2, cyber taxi and a van. This would be massive for Tesla sales and move it forward into another market flooded with smaller EV’s. The van versions could be used for commercial deliveries, mini bus/ cybervan, camper van etc.

All about patience and just saving more bucks , model y refresh is worth the wait , bucket seat model y would be cool

The S is way better looking than the 3 and is a great cruiser. The 3 is very quick and more nimble. Choose your weapon accordingly...

I just switched out from getting the Performance (I was due to receive next week!) to the Long Range. I did this for a couple of reasons. Let me first start by saying that the RWD was a no-go from the start. Being in a winter weather area, I really liked the idea of AWD plus the RWD definitely lacked a bit of pep. Reasons for the switch (and my new wait for the car) - The Fed tax credit finally kicked in for the LR, I won't have to deal with the challenges of 20" wheels with low profile sidewalls and the much easier potential of curb rash (and to those haters out there...yes, I know to drive) and having a pothole destroy the rim and potentially blowing out the tire, longer range (duh!....but I acknowledge this might just help with a bit of range anxiety as I won't be travelling that far normally, but I like having the option), cheaper overall price, not having staggered wheels (which more expensive for replacements and don't allow for normal rotation). I'll miss not having the better suspension with the Performance and the better seats....oh well.

We received approval for 0.99 financing and are still waiting to receive our vehicle, which is now scheduled to arrive between July and August. Tesla has offered us a similar vehicle with 20-inch rims at no additional cost. I am still contemplating whether we should accept this offer or wait for the 19-inch wheels to become available and see if any other offers arise in the meantime.

Good Advice. I just went through this exact process! An offer of 15,000 free supercharging miles prompted me to buy now. MY rather than M3 was an easy decision for me Went for RWD as I only do occasional long trips and, being retired, I am never in a rush. 0 - 60mph in 6.6 seconds is hardly slow ! Went for the base model as that had the best PCH deal - ANY option added more to the 3 year PCH than the full cost of the option !! So options have a negative 3 yr residual!. My wife actually preferred the white and I will buy some Uberturbine look wheel covers for £150 - which are much nicer than the stock ones. Plus, as you say they protect the rims better and I will just put the stock ones back on when I hand the car back I don't care about the new MY coming out because it will be more expensive in that the current PCH deals will not be available and I want the indicator stalks ! lol The buying experience was fine although I wanted to collect one form Southampton rather than Brent Cross and I could not find a way of changing that. There were a couple of times I would like to have talked to someone but that proved virtually impossible Ordered the car on 12th June, collecting on the 17th

As always: wait Tesla to drop prices, because they can not get rid of their inventories.

Lastly, the all-wheel drive is preferred by individuals living in cold and snowy climates or areas with heavy rainfall, as it offers better traction.

I bought a Y in March this year, but I'll be seriously thinking about an upgrade to the new Y IF they come with ventilated seats. I sweat more than the normal person and spend a good amount of time in the car driving, I have 16000km on the car since delivery, so I think the upgrade would make sense for me.

Do NOT expect the new Y juniper to be as affordable as the current Y. Sure, it will be restyled a bit, refreshed interior but to be fair it will not be mindblowing. The hardware will be the same (4.0) and not all changes are a benefit (no stalks). Currently the Y is to found at much cheaper prices, better financing and currently even a free Supercharger deal for 20K km's. Put that in perspective against a more expensive vehicle, no deals on launch, probably waiting times, no supercharger deal, no stalks ... Sure, the refresh is nice but it will wear off quickly.

im kinda confused on how the performance 20inch wheels get 303 range while the lr 19inch gets 305 so that means if the lr had 20inch wheels itll get less than 300 which makes it less efficient. seems odd how the 20inch gets equivalent to the 19inch almost outperforming it. i believe both vehicles have the same capacity battery size

Very good point which I realized very early. I have been driving ICE luxury cars for the past 3 decades but every time a new model came out I was left disappointed as a new feature was missing and sometimes even it was not possible to fix it for a cost. I love the fact that Tesla has little or no hardware buttons which most old age thinkers don’t comprehend and I never explained to them why because they like to nag but when they get behind the wheel and drive it for a few days they are so bowled over especial by just stopping the car and stepping away and everything is taken care off behind you. Amazing. Great video by the way.

Great points, l just remember you stated that other cars may need subscriptions for version features. Tesla premium connectivity is exactly this.

Hi Adam, l am an owner of new M3 highland. Melbourne, Australia. Having used for the last 5 months l find the vehicle to be very enjoyable to drive and find the OTA updates to be very beneficial. However, as you may be aware, there is blind spot area In front of the front bumper, as they have removed the camera. Consequently, the hi-fidelity park assist indicate "STOP" far too early before an obstacle in front. This problem needs to be addressed for easy parking experience. Reverse parking is much easier with hi resolution rear view cameras. Everyone is waiting for an improvement when parking nose in with accurate distance, in a future update. It is long overdue. What is your comment.

Great video. Can't believe how much better my Model 3 highland rwd is since I purchased it in Feb 2024. Have received multiple free OTA updates since then. There absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately many people out there don't understand just how great these software updates are. They wrongly think they have something to do with FSD. Which I have never purchased and never would use anyway.

The price you pay is driving a vehicle with software bugs, and loss of privacy as your car harvest your personal data which the manufacturer can then monetize. After all, why spend time thoroughly testing software for potentially dangerous flaws before releasing it, when you can fix it later at no cost and let customers risk life and limb by exposing those flaws for you?

They cant do it their hardware is from 20 or more other oems whit 20 or more softwares

The OTA updates provided by Tesla are certainly game changers, arguably revolutionary, in the industry. I purchased my ‘21 M3 SR+ online (!), and the car was delivered to my house after waiting just a couple weeks. That entire purchase/delivery experience: mind blowing! It took, in total, about one hour of my time - not the entire day-long battle involved in going to a dealership to buy a car. And then, lo and behold, came the OTA updates. Over the 3+ years I’ve had the car I’ve lost count. The latest one was yesterday, for minor fixes. Hey, I’m happy to get those as well as the big ones. They’ve all added up to a car that is vastly improved in so many ways: safety features, driving experience, and entertainment! I’ve heard the supposedly derisive comment re: Teslas, that they are “iPads on wheels.” My response is, “And…? What’s your point?” That’s a huge advantage in my opinion. I live in the 21st century last time I checked! Good video as always, Adam!

pffff i drive an id3 and dont lik eit. i am gogin to test drive both cars as i have to let our car guy who manages the company cars. so in a way i am in the same spot. have 2 kids in booster seats and go on car holidays. i was thinking of getting the model 3 and use a tow bar for holidays. as now it is just to small. and i will be using this car for the next 5 years. @adam i was wondering what your experience is with car holidays and have to take a allot of stuff in the model 3. the booth looks very unpractical. i like the blue though :)

I recently took my M3LR Refresh on an approximately 850-mile round trip for the first time, and I am impressed with its performance. What I particularly liked was that I only had to stop once for charging between destinations. If you prioritize range and comfort, I would recommend the LR over the performance model. The performance wheel is not as comfortable as the LR, but for a more stylish look and a more enjoyable driving experience, the performance model would be the better choice.

Red Y premium sound is fantastic, 11monts later still fantastic, I know a lot of people that trade 3 for Y as a family changes and as I am 50+ back issue can't do the 3 as its to low , I have 30,000km MSM RWD....in 11 months 😂

Patience is a virtue. Just hold off and wait for refreshed Juniper, so both you and your wife will be happy for next few years.

Unless you're absolutely needing the new car now, I would wait. I've driven the new model 3 (highland) back to back with the old model 3. It's quite lovely and a noticeable improvement on the old model 3, but IMO, it's not worth upgrading just for the new features unless you can get a great deal. While great, the Highland is still a model 3, it's not a Rolls Royce or a German / Japanese luxury brand. I've also driven the 2024 model Y, which is great. Not as good as the highland, but by far the best Y I've been in. Again, while Tesla is blowing out inventory of the existing Ys, they're only going to get cheaper when the Juniper model is released. That might really be the best time to get one. That should also in theory depress the price of the 3 Highland a bit. Remember that all Autopilot / FSD software is still based around Hardware 3 (HW 4 cars run in emulation), so a hardware 4 car offers no advantage at the current moment except for the better camera images on the center screen. If you can have patience and wait another year and live with your existing 3, that's what I would do.

Love the Highland in Ultra Red! It looks like Ferrari red. And the new features are nice to have. However, with two little kids the practicality of the Model Y is simply unbeatable. I'm sure glad my kids are all grown up 😅
