What an excellent presentation, it really opens so many possibilities for the understanding of chronic disease. Thank you

I am very very disappointed. once, some 5 or 6 y ago, Dr. Lustig made me awae about the sugar problem. But here, this presentation is just awful. he tries to whitewash being fat by constructing a paper tiger and engaging wrong arguments. At mark @7.00 you can observe how a statistics is getting constructed and abused : first you focus on an arbitrary threshold, in this case "obesity is BMI of 30+", then define the opposite as "nomal", and next you present the conundrum that in normal weight people obesity rises. At @8:28 he even starts to call people with a BMI of 30 "thin". ...holy crap.... Sorry, since when is a BMI between 25 and 30 normal weight? It is even medically rated as "overweight". By any means "normal" would be for BMI<25, as coarse and misleading that is. A child with 24 is NOT normal, becaus much lower portion of lean mass, wheeas an adult male with BMI 26 coud be normal. BMI is outdated. ...which just adds to the invalidity of the argument. Its complete BS. Just exaggarated at 11:00+ when he cites a study about a small population with missing HGH receptors and draws conclusions for the gneral popuplation... that's intellectual dishonesty to its purest. At 16:20 then he claims that, quote, "visceral fat is a consequence of chronic stress, not of diet." ...that's just becoming criminal... A bad mistake at 29:00. He showing a slide about effects of glucose and fructose ono the capablity of the liver to process fat. Frucose is bad, yes, but there is absolutely NO indication that glucose improve beta-oxidation, also from other studies. It also disrgards what s calle energy toxicity. Agan, BS, here va cherry picking. Bad mistake at 41:38 ... caling, qute, "methionine the second rarest amino acid in the diet"... very wrong, indeed. I do not kow o which diet he is referring to here, but diet tracking via cronometer, which uses public US dietary databases, is showing me daily quite the opposite. And btw, talking about "the diet" is quite an overgeneralisation. The part about fructose is ok, but fructose is from diet. Fatty liver, even in the beginning, directly spills over into visceral fat, which is inflammatory. Whether you eat a lot of fructose anfd 500 kcal too much every day or just 2000kcal per day too much of a "healthy" diet does not matter. Both make you fat and sick. And of course, hypertroph fat cells spill free FA like hell, making you sick. Obesity or too much fat is indeed making sick in 95% of all cases. Better to temove ths video, it is just bad
