I'm sorry man you're mixing up your terms. The rootstock is what makes the scion dwarf, not the other way around. also, they are not grafted because the seeds don't breed true, but they are cloned for that reason the word grafting refers to connecting two different trees into one. almost no trees are planted from its seeds.
Well done, you have showed others the same work Sepp Holzer has done, and I applaud you for it. Well done sir.
@FroobBlade And again UN-true. Resistance is in the genetics of the fruit tree which wants to be in a forest, not removed and put into a grassland called an orchard. Commercial company's use grafted trees because they are faster to fruit, but not necessarily making for a healthier product.
@FroobBlade You do not know what you are talking about here. Grafted fruit trees are grafted to root stock that determines up to 75% of the over all size of the tree, and can actually reduce not only the trees life, but its resistances in general. Rootstocks are getting more disease resistant, not the fruit trees themselves. The author of this video is going to have much healthier fruit over a longer period of time then a commercial orchard.
@aihlo Summer pruning encourages fruit growth the next season. Winter pruning is more about the shape, and removing branches that interfere with one another. It's actually better when using a real root fruit tree to not prune it ever. Let nature do it. Read about Sepp Holzers work if you don't believe me.
Merci
Antivol Best BonJour :-) et bien! ta réponse date d'il y a 6 ans !!! as tu trouvé ton BonHeur ? :-)
Many thanks for this video, I have found natural trees far more prolific and hardy than grafted trees.
So what does it look like now?
Merci ces techniques. Sympatique vidéo maison !
bill mollison would be proud of you well done
Sorry about being impolite I was angry about some other things and took it out on you while I was watching your movie. Please research problems with planting too deep. It takes 5-15 years before problems show up.
