Hey there! My name is Kammi; I’m a third grade teacher in Illinois. Thanks for checking out my channel!
Kammi! Just saw you posted new set up videos, welcome to the third grade squad!
I also have asthma, so I feel you on that. Your room is looking great! When does school start back for you?
@@jessicathomas2617 Thank you! I start on August 12, students come back August 14.
Love all your ideas for your classroom. It’s funny when your lights just turn off on you lol
You have a well planned first day. Love your emotions plushies!❤
💖💖💖
Love your sign “yesterday a reader tomorrow a leader” ❤❤❤
Tomorrow is first day with students. Teachers come on first day at 6:30 and students begin coming in at 7.
I had a student with many behavior issues last year and his FAVORITE was Scribble! He used Scribble to help him with his emotions every.single.day. :)
Glad your set up is flying by ❤❤❤ have a great year
Very organized and well thought out!❤ Best wishes for the upcoming year. I love your room. It is not overly flashy (visually cluttered). I am a medically retired SPED teacher who would recommend your classroom due to your calm demeanor, structured setting, and safe environment. Thank you-
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, I really appreciate it! I try my best to keep my classroom calm and relaxing to support my kids’ learning.
Happy belated birthday!!🎉🎉
Thank you!!
Does the hot glue take the paint off the wall when you take it down at the end of the year?
@@paperscaffeinelife Not for me! This is how my custodial staff asked me to hang things, so it may be different for other schools
@ThrivingInThirdGrade Good to know. A friend mentioned it to me last year, but I was really unsure if it would damage the walls, so I didn't try it, but nothing sticks to our walls, lol
Great video! I would love to see your plans! I am also teaching 3rd grade. Also can you link the spelling information that you shared from tpt? Thanks!

Definitely would love to see what you plan for the first couple of days! love your set up- you made me what to contact paper my kidney table!
I just found your channel because I love watching set uo videos. So far I'm loving your channel!! The camera you have for the sudent pictures what one is it? It seema perfect to add to the classroom wishlist. I work at a very small Catholic school in Connecticut, so all items have to be purcased by myself. Thank you. Alicia from CT
I believe it’s the Instax Mini! I found it at Walmart for about $47 on sale.
Great video, did you paint your walls or is that a school paint color? Do you know the name of it? I really like it.
@@ccc919 It was already this color when I got hired, sorry!
I w as at Big Lots today and they had little lights. I'm in Texas.
Me too!! I am ravenous at 10am. I also get ravenous at 3pm! 😂😅
I get hungry at 10 to 11 and sleepy at 2 to 3.
Good video. Love it! ❤
I am shocked at the class size you had last year and this year. Surprising that your district didn’t make a split class with those students. It still would be a tiny class of 17 lol.
I am so curious about your school. Is it a public or private school? What state are you in? Is it a super rural area? Why are the classes so small?
@@EducationalRoots I teach at a public neighborhood school in Illinois. We only serve a small area, so that’s why our sizes are so small! Other grades have up to 28 students; I’ve just had two tiny classes in a row.
@@ThrivingInThirdGrade That's awesome 🤩
I got rid of classroom jobs and went for helper of the day. You could either go down the attendance list or choose a secret student and award them with the helper job. Just a thought.
This is a good idea ❤
Class dojo? You could have them deposit their bucks in the “bank” (class dojo) and then you could add more options, you can include how much something is and when you take away “points” in this case “bucks” it’s for the item they bought
When you are running low on the Miss L Bucks, could you ask the students to put them in the ‘bank’ and then you can continue to use the bucks but they don’t feel they have to spend them?
@@MichHolden That’s a really good idea! I think I’m going to incorporate that.
Good idea ❤
Do you have inclusion? I’m just curious about the small numbers. What state are you in?
@@patriciagallop2551 Right now, I’m teaching general education, but I have taught special education in the past! I’m in Illinois.
definitely do more timelapses :)
I'm a retired teacher I've taught everything from toddlers thru the tenth graders and I also have taught finearts and Spanish teacher currently in my district they have brought back all of the retired teachers and made all of us intervention specialists.
@@jamarconway4459 Our school does that too!
🤣🤣🤣 your mom walking in
Did you figure out your classroom job sheet? I've used Excel for many years. I put the jobs down the side panel and the week date as the header for each column. Then, I rotate the student numbers (or you could put names) down the columns. I just finished this week for this year. Good luck with what you decide.
@@maryrivers1502 That’s what I did too! I did alphabetical order for one job, reverse alphabetical for the next, and then I started from the middle for the last two jobs and fixed any overlaps. Thanks for the advice!
Just started watching your channel and I have asthma as well so I know how you feel 😂😂 and I’m from North America
Name tags for students desk and classroom assignments and homework on whiteboard assignments for students and teachers and staff papers work for students Presents
Hi! I love your clases, it's cute... I'm from Argentina... Why in UUEE teach south America and North America separated? In my country we learn and teach America just one continent, because it is... (Sorry if my English is not so well!)
Hi, in Europe (Poland) we teach about North and South America as two continents as well.
Are you doing other classroom videos
Oh my gosh! I love your planner! Where did you get it?
@@vsprsgdby Thanks! It from the Erin Condren website.
@@ThrivingInThirdGrade thank you 😊
I would maybe attempt to copy the Mrs. L bucks and then laminate them so they hold up. Does the parent who made you them still have a child who goes to your school? If so, can you see if she can send you the file so you can make more?
Good idea ❤
Last year. I go to third grade I'm in. 4th grade this year I go too timbercreek what school do you work att 😆😂😙🥳
I love the Balloon Book and Idea. I have added it to my buy list for books.
Where do you teach? Which state? In two years I plan to move after my youngest graduates. Would love a change of environments but too ‘young’ to retire.😅
I teach in Illinois!
Is that typical of your school? The small numbers? Is your school a k-8 or k-6? That is pretty awesome to have those small numbers. If I had small numbers like that I could probably teach another 20 years-ha.🤪
What town do you live in
Do you teach at a private school?
Nope! Just a tiny public school.
