I sprayed mine directly with carb cleaner, I didn’t spray too much but what would you recommend doing? Do I need to replace it now?
I would.
You did great it happens can't win them all the first time round
What’s the little blue connector you used called?
www.autozone.com/miscellaneous-non-automotive/electrical-wire-connector/p/dorman-conduct-tite-blue-18-14-gauge-splice-terminal/310128_0_0?spps.s=5979&cmpid=LIA%3AUS%3AEN%3AAD%3ANL%3A1000000%3AELC%3A19486091402&gad_source=1&new_store_set=true
So the title of your video is how to install the DPF filters you did not for one single second show how to install the filters at all. What is wrong with you people? Then there's another video from someone else that is showing all of it but wants to play music and not explain anything. This is utterly ridiculous. You guys should be banned from making any more videos
@user-dieseldon do you really need someone to hold your hand? If you can't determine how you put a round filter between 2 round pipes with metal straps holding them together, it must be difficult for you to change a radiator hose.
Would this part voing bad smcause the engine to stall and completely shut down?
@briannewman5614 Yes, it could. The main culprit that would cause stalling is the crank position sensor. When that fails, the engine loses spark.
You make it look so easy!!🤩
Like your video never to old learn things I have same truck running high rpm can't ideal at Lowe rpm 😎
Do you have a model # I have same truck can’t find it
Thanks for sharing this video with us.
What most people don't understand why sometimes if you replace these parts and it doesn't change a thing that usually means the computer is going out or needs to be re calibrated.
I have a 98 suburban and my brake light comes on when you first touch the pedal then goes off as soon you apply more pressure. I have changed out the brake switch and fuses are good and I’m stuck now. I was wondering if the Ip that attaches to it could be the problem on that wiring harness does it plug into something else or is it all bare wires? I’ve tried to find replacement and I can only seem to find the plug that goes into it so I don’t know if I have to wire all those wires or is there one hole Wiring harness with both plug-ins on both ends?
I have an issue when I put mine on the light stays on
I put a new camshaft sensor, on my jeep cause check engine light came on and said a bad cam sensor, it started fast and strong after 30 minutes of driving i stop at a stop sign and the jeep turn off, started again and the check engine light came on again, and it says cam sensor again. I'm wondering if it's the PCM.
Replaced this part ab 6 months ago, have to replace it again now. Beware of cheap chinese parts. Get mopar if you can!
Seems like a carb swap would be easier than all this efi bullshat
Make sure your O2 sensor is heated up enough so you're not going into open and closed loop off and on and off and on I just fixed that just fix that problem I had to put a heated O2 sensor internet that calmed it right now what's happening and I think you're in between open loop and closed loop
I need help.Mine is stuck on high idol after changing it
@@JoseLopez-y3p1w what all did you do to it before changing this part?
High idle might be ur temperature sensor is reading it is still not warm yet . I have a 88 suburban started it up and wouldn't idle down
1990 5.7 pickup. Mine runs like a top until it gets up to temperature. Stalls at red light, even in neutral if I don’t feather the pedal. I changed plugs, cap, rotor, coil, IAC valve, fuel filter, no better. The only thing that helped at all, was to give it a couple degrees of timing. And when I checked it, the mark was bouncing all over the place. The distributor has 500,000 miles on it( yes I said that correctly), so the gear is prolly shot. Ordered a whole distributor, pop that in there one of these days and see.
@@BillBowman-vu3jw did the distributor do anything?
He probably didn't do it yet..😂
How would a brake switch have anything to do with tq converter lock up? It's usually the tcc in the valve body on these
@corydunaway the brake switch with cruise control will disconnect the +12 volt power when the brakes are applied, which will unlock the torque converter.
@corydunaway I've had that problem for a while now. Since then, I've had the transmission replaced with a new one. It still has the same problem. The transmission shops I've talked to don't know either.
I replaced it on my 91 s10 and still didn’t change a thing
Sorry for the dumb question but where did you get your hood bug deflector brother

You’re a Great Teacher, Good Energy Sir.. #WeThePeople
This video helped a lot when installing mine! Thanks for the video!
Thank you sir, did everything but that
how to relearn after installing the IAC, First you need to cause the Air Idle Control (AIC) to extend its pintal to the max position. You do this by shorting pin A of the ALDL connector under the dash to Pin B of the same connector (do a "google" search for GM +Trouble codes). Turn the ignition to run, but don't start the engine. When you do this, listen closely to the AIC on the throttle body and you will hear "ticking"; this is the motor extending the pintal. Wait 30-40 secs, then without turning the key off, pull the electrical connector off of the AIC. Start the engine. It should now be at the lowest possible idle.
at what point do you pull out the jumper wire?
or do you turn on the engine with the jumper still in?
@@criscastro60 no
@@criscastro60 just before you start it ,

THANKS MATE!
The Idle Air Valve can be clean. Just use air to dry it after you clean it.
How to clean it? Without messing it up, it is apparently fragile
Lmao everything you need to know about your 88 to 95 GMC that's so funny this guy is so slow I would have done had the grill off and everything fixed by the time he even thought about it I own three or four of these things and I know everything about him and he probably doesn't know the tail light wires to go to the back what color they are or what's the color of the gas gauge wire buddy let's see how smart you are you don't know do you what a joke
How are you going to act like an internet badass, but fail to structure a sentence?
You don't know jack, or the shit hes about.
That's pretty edgy for a guy who turned the comments off on his only video. Afraid of receiving criticism, but not of giving it huh?
Thanks for the video, Unkle T.! I also just acquired a family heirloom - my father's 1997 C-1500 Silverado, which my mother drove until she was 90. It's in great shape and I'm working on restoring it. Needs new plastic, like this, and has a little tornado damage (small dents and scratches). Oh, and .... Hail State! *sound of cowbell ringing*
Thanks for your video! Helped me put a new steering wheel on my 94 Silverado
This video is really well done. My 88 k5 blazer has always struggled at idle (sputters but never stalls) and my research lead me to your video. Gonna get this part and see if it fixes it. Oh and 1a Auto is great.
ty , jumping my '99 out to get it home !!
mine sounds like it has a super cam for the first 5 seconds after start up then runs normal... any sugestions anyone?
Mine does the exact same thing!!! Have you figured it out yet?
Coolant temp sensor. It's on the front of the engine, up top. Two wires coming out of the plug.
I’m trying to fix the same problem? Any lucky with yours?
Yup its always been the map sensor for me
i have a k2500 1994 suburban and your videos help me a lot, thanks!
will attempt soon, hopefully it goes as easy as this

Everyone else who made a comment liked the video. If you're so unhappy with the video to make 3 different comments, don't watch them. If you couldn't understand what was going on because my hand was in the way briefly and everything wasn't perfectly centered, that's your problem. Thanks much for the video! I am going to tackle this project tomorrow morning. I also have a 1979 Blazer with the same idle problems. Is the remedy the same. Both 350 5.7 ?
My jeep jas been down for awhile..this is actually a distributor pick up sensor..but anyway..it worked..thank you!
Awesome!! Glad it worked. When I searched the possible solutions to my issue online, it was labeled as a cam position sensor. When Bought it at the parts store, it was labeled as a distributor pickup sensor.
How long did it take you to replace the switch?
About an hour, give or take.
Yeahhh... awesome yeap !
Thanks for the help 👍
I was about to mention A1 auto parts videos when you did! Wish we had them in my corner of Canada! At least I can watch their vids. CHEERS from HERE!!!
Just to note, do not spray anything on that spring, do not touch anything on that spring. I've heard of people using water to clean them or sensor safe cleaner. There's a procedure to get the IAC valve in the right position while installing or you run the risk of damaging the spring/pintle when screwing it back in.
Well... Do tell
@@PatrickPrice-vd5fj just Google tbi iac reset procedure. It's a few steps.
@@PatrickPrice-vd5fj Leave the IAC connected and put a jumper in terminal A and B (two top row terminals on the far right). Turn the ignition switch on, but do not start the engine. Wait at least 30 seconds to give the IAC time to fully seat. With the ignition switch still on, disconnect the IAC. Remove the jumper wire from the diagnostic connector and start the engine. Let the engine reach normal operating temp. Set the park brake and with the engine in drive, adjust the idle stop screw to 500-550 rpm for an auto, and 600-650 rpm for a manual. Turn the engine off and reconnect the IAC
@@XJon2011 what if you don't have a tachometer on the factory gauges?
@@emiliotorres2802 as far as I know the idle screw is set at the factory, so if it hasn't been tampered with you shouldn't have to mess with it. I can pull out the factory service manual if you like.
