Whilst a total bummer to drop yer bike, as a motorcyclist of over forty years, it seems odd you had time to sound your horn rather than brake hard and avoid the collision. Not to mention the fact you were not riding defensively. On a busy road every motorist is a threat.

I biking this past summer and got hit by a car going 55 as I was pulling into my driveway. Watching this definitely took me back - these things happen so fast

100% the trucks fault... But i have no idea how you didn't maneuver around this truck without hitting it. You had time to coast, beep the horn several times, but yet couldn't swerve out of the way. Not blaming you for the accident, but man...your reaction time is terrible.

This is why it's important to ride like you're invisible and learn how to use the front brake, and make it a habit of using it properly so you have it at your disposal in a panic situation. You can always count on someone in a car doing something dumb and putting your life at risk when you're riding

The first 20 secs after the accident would look beyond incredible out of context. 1. The driver looks like he just takes off 2. The next driver just drives past without a care in the world 3. The woman fucking asks "Are you okay" when the guy is on the floor moaning in pain after an accident.

Motorcycle riders should be wary of women drivers!!!

What a western people doesn't aware is not slowdown when passing intersection. No matter how good or discipline u r when on the road u should aware, even when u r on the Right side. Too much dumb people on the road, and u r pretty unlucky to meet that type of person. Just slowdown and dont go over 40 when passing intersection. In asia u cant even go 60mph without a single worry, there's always a jumpscare on the road like a car suddenly braking, cut the line, people cross not in cross zone. The driver here much more worse than in western. So u should raise your awareness when ride a bike at all time, check mirror every 10sec to stay focus

Okay. So This seems to have occurred between the Louisburg Road, and Calvary Drive intersection, Raleigh NC. I checked the street view imagery on Google Earth, I found up the road on his side, 45 mph speed limit. Right at the moment of the crash he was going 50..51mph on the speedometer. Speeding? By 5mph sure. Most cops let this slide though and be real, most of you reading are an easy 10 over every single day. You know who you are lol. Also, in her case, I cannot see a sign prohibiting U turns at the intersection. But... Here are the results when I search "Are U turns legal in North Carolina" It says generally they are, with a few exceptions... Business districts U-turns are only permitted at intersections or in clearly marked areas. Drivers cannot make U-turns to go in the opposite direction in business districts, except at intersections. Other zones U-turns are not permitted in school zones, railroad crossings, or areas with heavy pedestrian traffic. Crosswalks must be clear of pedestrians before making a U-turn. Other roads All seems okay so far for her part.. (But this listed third section, This is the part that im focused on and wondering about.) It states that, U-turns are not permitted on one-way streets, highways, or ***divided roadways. They are also prohibited in front of fire stations. That looks like a divided roadway with an obvious divider. Theres a note on "Safety" as well, Drivers must be able to see ***all approaching traffic and be free of obstructions before making a U-turn. Drivers who make a U-turn from another lane without checking for traffic may be considered negligent if they cause a collision. Basically saying, the oncoming traffic has the right of way is how im interpreting that. His ""skill level" or "Oh he could have slowed down""" bla bla bla bla bla yada yada is irrelevant in regards to how the law will look at this. And to be honest, some are saying "oh she may not have known better than to not leave"" I call total bs on that. She knew better. If she didnt think she did anything wrong, why leave? If she didnt leave then maybe we truly could leave this at an innocent accident, but she fled. That is essentially a hit and run and that could be, in the state of NC a felony charge. I think thats where she really messed up, such a shitty thing to do. Acting like she cares. She couldnt wait any longer to get out of there. She also said he "crossed the green light" (im guessing shes saying he ran a light or something) Obviously trying to pin the blame on him. Then leaves. Probably bc.... illegal.
