Motorbike Ride: B4391 to Llan Ffestiniog (Snowdonia 360)
I've just completed a three day motorbike tour of North Wales following the route of the Snowdonia 360. This was a great section of the B4391 from the junction with the A4212 (///shameless.sage.scored) to the junction with the A470 in Llan Ffestiniog (///routine.twitching.regretted)
The Snowdonia 360 is a 360-mile route through Snowdonia, Anglesey, Llŷn Peninsula, and the North Wales Coast. The scenary is spectacular, and the riding is excellent. It's less well known, but just as enjoyable as the NC500, and easier to get to for most people!

Map: s360.ams3.digitaloceanspaces.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/08163232/S360-Map-Leaflet-2023-v3-LR.pdf
I've recorded most of the route on video, though as usual never have time to edit it. If anyone wants to see a particular section, let me know and I will upload it

Motorbike Ride: Leaving Puerto de Santander, then south on N-611
มุมมอง 1352 ปีที่แล้ว
This was part of a ride from the Port of Santander, where I left the ferry from Portsmouth, to Salamanca, where I stayed over night. The video shows me leaving the ferry, taking the motorway for a short distance, then joining the N-611. The N-611 goes from Santander, heading south through the Cantabrian Mountains to Palencia. It is a great road for motorcycling, twisting and rising up from the ...

Motorbike Ride: NC500 Bealach na Bà in bad weather

Day 4 of my tour of Scotland in July 2022 was from Ullapool to Sligachan in Skye, which includes the infamous Applecross Pass / Bealach na Bà (626m) - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bealach_na_Bà The weather was bad, it was raining almost non stop and there were strong winds from the west. Probably not the most sensible thing to do, but nevertheless it had to be done. I'm glad I did it, despite going of...

Tiger 1200 'Over-TFT' Phone / Sat-Nav Mount

I previously used an Ultimateaddons arrangement which served me well for several years. I needed a new phone which means I have to change some of this. Considerations for the new setup were: - Mounted above the TFT to give better visibility / not to have to look down to see it - Inductive charging / quick release mechanism to fit or remove the phone with minimal hassle - Looks like it's suppose...

Who operates the ferry, how much is the fayre
It was free at the time I made the video. Run by Bilway Marine Services on behalf of Peel Ports. Not sure now in 2024
It's always funny watching people ride routes you've done 100's of times and yet still have little tweaks/different versions. I'm Neston based though.
Please would you state were the start point of this video is PLEASE
It’s near Total Fitness in Chester maps.app.goo.gl/vWiHNjHjHr97Kvtv7?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
The start is on the Chester millennium Greenway next to Total Fitness Chester
There are several small ponds. Not sure if you can fish in them. The building is supposedly being demolished. I’ve not been there for several months. Last time I went it was still there though access was more difficult. They’ve also tried to stop access to the land from the Mollington entrance. There is public access from other directions. It’s well used by locals
Hello I'm wondering if you know if the place still looks like that and if there are maybe any small ponds around that place that I might be allowed to fish in. Of course this video was 2 years ago 😂 But I was just wondering if you knew 👍
The ponds u can fish in and are quite good and the places are more over grown and torn up and u can’t get in to the first one without climbing in through the roof
The path was almost not there - on the way to the ferry. Looks like it needed “serious grooming”…
You don't seem to stop at the STOP junctions. Are you a special road user?
I’m not special. Are you sanctimonious?
@@runsandrides yes, and law abiding! 😉
Another great route. I do like to take the AS345 between Las Arenas and Mier. Great extra option. Thanks for posting.
I check that out next time I'm there, thanks
This is one of my favourite runs in the Picos. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the message. It is a great run I agree. I hope to get back there soon
Anything for the tiger 900?
Tried to use one of these. Download the app got it all sorted. Scanned the q code it said "success" on the screen. Then when I tried to ride it. It just kept shouting at me to unlock it. Felt a right tit with a group of kids watching me. Eventually sloped off embaressef😂
I had a drive up there a few days ago, I only went out for a little drive from Newcastle, got on the A1 and just kept going. Ended up in Pitlochry and decided to come off the motorway and head across to Cairngorms, it was just so stunning I kept going all the way through and ended up in Aberdeen😂 Absolutely amazing drive along the A93, I will be doing it again soon and intend to take a tent, go a bit better prepared and spend a few days up there. Stunning part of the country - I always loved the lake district but I think Cairngorms might be my new favourite...
I’m glad you enjoyed it. There are great riding / driving roads around there. Not a busy as the Lakes either
Enjoyed this very much - Thank You. A study in chevrons ......
Great video can you tell me where i start and finish this ride many thanks.
Have a look a the Strava activity for the ride it shows the start and finish www.strava.com/activities/3843471920
@@runsandrides Will do thank you so much for your prompt reply.
this is hardly a test. what false advertising. this is nothing but a video. Play with some other toy, please.
Thanks for posting. I like that you can tuck the recording unit under the seat rather than have a camera attached to it (ala the K5 I think).
Agreed!
Six of us will be riding 'The Triangle' on 2 May '23. This is excellent homework ! Thanks for posting.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I hope you have a great time in May. I'm sure you will, the riding is excellent. Feel free to contact me if you want any more information about my trip. Cheers Iain
@@runsandrides Thanks, Iain, just a quick question, what are the temperatures likely to be ? Last time I went was in March '22 and as I'm sure you can imagine, it was bloody cold !! What kit did you wear ?
@@stevenmort3464 I did this trip to Spain last year towards the end of April. Temperatures were very varied, lowest around 0C on the various passes of the Picos and Cantabria, snow also in places, though roads were clear. Even on this Potes triangle ride it was sunny and 20 degrees in Cangas de Onís, but below 0C on Puerto de San Glorio and sleet in Riano. On the tour, I went down to Salamanca and then to Porto; temperatures were mid to high twenties. On my last day of the tour, I rode from Riano to Bilbao, with snow and below zero temperatures on several Picos passes, then raining hard all day at lower altitudes; it was a grim day but I had to catch the ferry. If you've got the space, you could take both winter and summer riding kit, but probably like me you won't want to do that. I opted for my summer kit (Mesh jacket with removable liner; riding jeans; light boots). I took both summer and winter gloves (my winter ones are electrically heated); various extra layers, various socks including waterproof ones, and a Goretex jacket and over trousers (standard hiking kit which I wore over the top of my riding gear). It was ok apart from the last day when I did get wet and cold (it didn't matter as I was on the ferry for 36 hours and could dry out all my kit) In May you will probably be ok with summer kit, but do pack extras for when it's cold / wet. Good luck!
Many thanks for putting this up on TH-cam, I'm looking visiting the area in May 2023 and riding this route during my visit. Very well done.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I hope you have a great time in May. I'm sure you will, the riding is excellent. Feel free to contact me if you want any more information about my trip. Cheers Iain

love these vids, great work. NC500 is on my list, will get t it eventually! liked ,subscribed and all that jazz...
Thanks for your comment. I definitely recommend the NC500. (Even though I didn’t video much of it). I’ll have a look at your channel. Cheers
How do I find the ferry times for July Aug 2022? Can't find anything after Oct 21.
Sorry I don't know. I assume you are looking at this www.hulmesferry.co.uk/timetable/ There is a mobile number on there; maybe that's the ferry man who can advise!
Poor video quality and high price :(((
Hot and (sweaty) around the BCN new Line - enjoy(ed)
How many kms would this be?
It was 7.4km along the river (I ran further than that to get there see www.strava.com/activities/5197615161 )
Stupid question but how deep is it in there ?
What editing program do you use?
I use Shotcut. It’s free and does what I need. shotcut.org
I'm thinking of buying one,,,,,, not fully decided. Great vid anyone know what the bloc looking bit its between the handlebar, and the folding bit. It can't be the light, can it??? 🤔
I think the block thing halfway up the handlebars is where the electronics which make the Ginger network stuff work are located (I assume GPS, 3G modem etc). There is a front light, though I can't remember where it is on those particular scooters; they seem to have an upgraded model now which is slightly different. What do you mean by the 'folding bit'? Note it's currently illegal to buy your own scooter and use it on the public roads - only hire ones are allowed (though many people use them anyway)
Bro I'm just trying to watch tom scott
That was very dangerous. Ride safe!
Thanks for posting. I'm glad I don't commute anymore ! The sound on your video - I have the same 'quality' of sound - I've just written to Innovv about it. I love the unit but that phasing in and out sound is odd. Not all videos seem to have it. Have you found anything that makes the quality any better? It's like listening to Radio Luxembourg in the 1960s.
John, Yes I agree about the sound it’s like it’s underwater. If you get anything from Innovv which fixes it please let me know. Thanks for your comment. Iain
I have an Innovv K5 and I had to experiment to find the right place to place the microphone... as for the HUGE main/front Camera/dvr, nightmare.
I have bought a Mic Muff (thats what its called!) to try to improve the sound. I have also been having problems with the length of the clips, set to 3 minutes it was doing all kind of weird times, 1:20, 0:56, etc. I spoke to Innovv and told them that a different card to the one they supplied was ok, they didn't agree, I will do some more trials and get back to them.
@@bikerbardy I set my video to 10 mins which works ok. I don’t get any variation in the video length (apart from the last one of a sequence). I think the sound problem is excessive compression by the electronics system rather than something physical with the mic. I intend to try a different mic at some point (I have a mic under my seat for use with my GoPro no issues with that)
from Birmingham to Chester we drive along the A38(M) towards Walsall, we drive along the M6 towards Stafford, we drive along the M54 towards Telford, we drive along the A41 towards Whitchurch, we drive along the A5115 towards Chester, we parked up Grosvenor Shopping Centre car park in Chester.
