@@osamaanwar90 i think my model does not have rgb lighting because i downloaded armoury crate and in the device section it says for lighting i only have static, breathing and strobing and it says there are no settings available for all of them.

@inhwankim9418 I haven't experienced this personally, but I'd try turning it off completely instead of leaving it on standby to see if that helps.

@onal100 Absolutely any gaming laptop first and foremost will be a great heavy-duty and powerful work laptop such as coding. Building apps, running local servers, docker etc.

@mortystation Have a look at the bloatware that generally gets installed with Windows by default on these laptops. Remove junk that's not needed and try again. Also update to the latest BIOS, all the latest driver updates and Windows updates. Then remove and re-install Alienware Command Centre to see if helps.

@kevinduran7698 The ROG Ally is a specialized piece of hardware with buttons that are bound to specific functions. Maybe you have figure out how to re-bind them. But keep in mind that Armoury Crate for the ally is a special edition with specific features. So maybe there isn't official support yet from G-Helper.

@@techknowlux Thank's for replying, I did figure it out eventually. I think the ASUS uninstall tool somehow corrupted the controls and only left me with the touchpad. Well after a cloud recovery i got the "Default controls back" But still no Armoury crate? or ability to configure anything. And here comes the best (typical ASUS style). Normally you uninstall armoury crate and then restart the system, And install it again (And then it should work). But! if you try to launch Armoury crate after the reinstall, It gets corrupted again, You have to restart the system again without launching Armoury At all, If you want it to work. I might have another go at G-helper later!.

@TheUberTrekkie Chuwi does state that it has "full-featured USB C ports" whatever that means.

@GSVSurgeon Most gaming laptops throttle to some degree. The idea being to push as much power to the CPU/GPU so that you can extract most performance. That said, it could have been early drivers or BIOS issues that got resolved later with updates. I no longer have this device to re-test or do another followup sadly.

@Pollito6927 You did get a great deal. And, it's not a steal as they're clearing out stock for new models and incoming laptops with rtx 5000 and new cpus from both Intel and AMD.

@juanpabloeraso3755 SK Hynix does sell but usually you'll find lots of other brands. Just buy matching/paired 8GB modules preferably. It doesn't really matter as long as they're both 8GB and rated the same speed such as 5600MHz.

@IvanoForgione It sounds like a good idea until you consider all the heat this will spill into the backpack. It will end up overheating itself. HP made a VR backpack a while ago and that was the idea. However, it was specifically designed for this purpose. I would not recommend using it like you've suggested. These laptops need airflow and lots of it.

@@techknowlux Got the all AMD variant of this laptop for $1675, $1100 below MSRP on eBay. Thinking it's unique Radeon RX 7900M GPU with 16GB VRAM will be more future proof then NVIDIA's cards. The eBay seller was a pawn shop, they took a tonne of photos and it looked to be in great aesthetic shape but didn't have any specs in the listing. Got the service tag off one of the photos and confirmed its one of these beasts. Has the cherry MX keyboard as well. Low balled the seller over $300 below asking and he accepted 😅

@theone320 You can buy some if you like, but it's not necessary. Most SSDs today do run hot however and this could impact the overall life if there's sustained high heat on the SSDs from excessive read/write. That is NOT a normal usage scenario at all so you're probably fine.

@z33tanner It could the game is older, has a more optimized engine, better driver support, fairs better with DLSS3 etc. So many variables here. But in general 1600p should have less fps and performance than 1200p.

@psychoticgiraffe Fortnite questions and requests have pretty much died of on my laptop review videos. So I didn't test it to be honest. As long as you play in DX11 mode and use recommended settings the performance should be fine and similar to other 3D games. Just make sure to leave off all the goodies from Epic and Unreal such as Lumen etc.

@mir93926 Yes it's not as polished as NVIDIA yet. That is for sure. But with time, Intel will catch up very fast. The fact that they released a second generation means they're not giving up on it.

@blak4052 I agree and disagree. It isn't silly to play at 4K as the resolution and sharpness of the image is unmatched. Comparatively 1080p looks fuzzy and blurry. But that doesn't mean you need to play at 4K at Ultra High settings with Ray Tracing in every game. You can *still* have a very good experience with the 4070 at 4K if you turn down just a few settings and make use of DLSS+Frame Generation. If you look at the capabilities and like you mentioned the 200W power figure, then the 4070 becomes even more impressive. It usually runs at around 180W of power during gaming at 4K.
