Venice Film Festival Impressions
Some impressions from the Venice Film Festival 2024.
The Venice Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world, here in its 81st edition in 2024. Venice festival director Alberto Barbera is known for his good contacts also with film stars. And so there was a great showcase of stars in Venice, some of whom can be seen in this video. But a film festival is also the marketplace where film rights are sold. The money paid for them is a speculative bet on their future success in the cinemas. And so it is no wonder that a glamorous bubble has been created for the stars promoting their films and the jury awarding the prizes. Opulence has been lived. What could be more fitting than baroque music for my video? Thank you for that.
The star power attracts the journalists and fans, who wait for the stars for hours in high humidity and a heat that lies over Venice like a cheese bell. And then there are the many moviegoers, hundreds or thousands of whom sit in the air-conditioned cinemas with euphonious names and often watch several films a day. Many are only flushed out of the cinema briefly, for example to go to the toilet, only to immediately queue up again on the other side because the next film starts a short time later. Their applause after the movie is then called “film festival premiere applause duration” and is said to be one of the indicators of the film's subsequent success. Which brings us back to economics, contracts and so on. Unfortunately, this part takes place behind closed doors, so this video can't show that. Short examples of most of the rest of the festival action can be found in this video.

@@rubengopro Hello, I have solved a mystery.. Do you remember that you claimed: Apareka was uploaded in August? You are not mistaken - the video was uploaded to Facebook on 23/08/2014. and then on 09/04/2024 on TH-cam. It's strange that when the Trio Mandili tell their story they only talk about their success on TH-cam, even though the video debuted on Facebook earlier.

I'm from Italy and, incredibly, the term "Mandilo" (Mandili is the plural) is an obsolete word wich indicates an handkerchief often used in past by women as headware knotted under the throat. I think the same meaning.

Well, they're not three sisters. In fact, they come from different regions of Georgia. As a professional music group, the three spend a lot of time together rehearsing, performing and touring. So it stands to reason that they all like each other and are friends to a certain extent. Wikipedia gives you some insight into the history of the group.
@rubengopro Thank you for the information! I tend to stay away from Wikipedia. In school we were forbidden to use it as a source bc it was notoriously unreliable and full of errors. We had to find other sources that could cite their information and then double check authentication. The 3 women in this group have "good chemistry", like the bond one gets from family or close friends. Until this group I had never heard Georgian music. I like this music, Georgia should be proud!
Mandili = Headscarf = Hijab or burka no? How do they get away with not wearing Mandili? Aren't those terrorists stone them for it or get raped walking down the street without a guardian man beside them?
