    . I think you misunderstood the theme. It's not types of dogs but the type of work they do. That's why track dog doesn't make sense, but some dogs do track scents, and herd, and guide, and the other one. Regardless, answer should be carrot top. I have actually heard of this comedian from back in the late 2000s. Is he still around?

    I laughed at that tit for tat clue, reminded me of that one solve of yours. I had no idea so I had to look at the crosses. Still didn't recognize it but the pepper part of the clue helped me see cayenne. Had no idea that was a capital name.
