I’ve just started lure fishing for pike and I fished the other side of the river down to the bridge. Had what looked like a nice size pike go for my mates lure but nothing else. Heard people say there’s plenty of pike in there and some big ones too!

@brandongibson6462 yeah ive been doing alright better than other years but ive not had any thing massive this year, the biggest out the river ive had was 15lb and 16 n half from the canal next door but theres still plenty of time

@@cawte_fishing I feel like I’ve been pretty lucky with catching, as other people I’ve been with haven’t caught as much but I’d just like to catch some bigger fish now. I don’t have the patience to dead bait though haha

@brandongibson6462 im the same i hate sitting there waiting i always have to bring the lure rod 😂 i cant sit still specially on the river any ways if im on a lake then im a bit more chilled

Ye man i literally tried that i put the rod down for a while and nothing i was using the same flavoured dumbell as the ground bait in the end river big fish busters shrimp and krill, i appreciate all and any advice 👍👍 i will try again i will catch a barbel one day!! 🎣

@@cawte_fishing it just makes it hard to focus, we use some external Bluetooth clip ons they make a world of difference

Yeah they always show up, its a good water to pretty much guarantee a few bites

Im yet to go again i didnt catch anything decent but seems like a good lake

Think it was the korda cog system lead clip but with normal leads and standard hair rigs, was ready for fishing a different lake that day but it was busy so went somewhere els and wasn’t properly equipped for that lake but made it work

@cawte_fishing yea man iam looking at getting a cheap set up been feeder fishing last 2 years need a change 😅

Have you i have a feeder rod like and i do enjoy a bit of feeder but usually on the side while fishing a proper carp set up just incase your on for a blank lol

Doesn't go pretty far like and soon melts leaving a baited area but I just thought I'd leave the good tip ahaha

Im always losing fish striking early, it is anoying but better to lose a fish than to kill it with a deep hook 🎣🎣

Im always injecting lad 😂 its very sloppy thats why i go in the waders, its hit n miss all the time for me, think il take my deeper chirp out next time see if i can find the fish before i cast in 🤞 im yet to catch on the kebab rig im sure it will work one day! The dog wasn’t my PB so didn’t bother with the scales n photo 😂 i was gutted wanted to pop a different bait up n was eaten by the floor, happy new year hopefully fingers crossed we can land some big ones this year!! 🎣🎣

That lake at the minute is flooded the water is about 8 inch above the decks so unfishable at the moment and the rivers have been a joke for months now but it’s currently at its highest level that ive seen!! Hopefully the floods bring in some larger fish 😁

Nice one pal, fishing aint always easy is it 😂 i know watching some videos can make it look easy but begind the scenes it can take weeks, you spend hours n days in the wrong spots but can take 5 minutes in the right one but we keep on trying the big one will come 🎣🎣 and same fish twice well done i bet he was buzzing 😀 at least i had one fish with the Christmas hat on 🎅

😂 trust me as soon as the reel screached i knew it was loose, obviously that was a mistake on my part but quickly sorted that out! Im only human ive done it before and im sure il do it again lol i new some one would let me know thanks 😂 i also dropped my bloody pike float through the hole in the deck, i made sure i highlighted that tho as that was messed up!!

Id like to say i am the man with experience as ive been pike fishing for years but thanks for your advice 👌

I know its a Hot topic and divides opinions and i for one have always stuck to pike fishing from October to March but seen as tho the year books im fishing allow pike fishing/ dead baiting pretty much all year round i thought id give it a try and you know what it was the best pike fishing ive ever done, lure fishing was amazing take a look at my videos from the summer 🎣🎣 dead baiting was good to but to say the pike are so aggressive i still managed to blank on the dead baits more than once

River aire in Leeds, it’s absolutely wild at the moment 😂 i cant wait to get back on it though
